Hi all! I'm new to this thread as I'm dabbling in the idea of staying BC with our kiddos. We are currently booked at an AoA suite, but a TA friend can get us a good rate so we are thinking of splurging on two rooms at BC. Especially since we couldn't get any discount for AoA...no free dining.

A couple questions...does everyone in my family really need to bring à room key to get in the pool? Does a CM work the gate? I can see this leading to many lost room keys with my boys;)

Also, I would really like one of the rooms at least to have a daybed, and a full balcony. Are these requests usually met? Thanks for any help!:cheer2:

Everyone needs a room key. No exceptions

You don't need to give the boys the KTTW just show it, get a band and put the keys all in your bag.

You will definitely get a day bed or roll away bed for your family. We almost always got the daybed rather than the roll away when we traveled with our three children. :goodvibes I'm not sure how often the balcony request is granted.

Uh oh.... But all is not lost! We found out years ago there are sellers on ebay who have a stock of many stuffed animals and blankets that children have become attached to but are no longer sold in stores.

One child, who shall not be named, was beating the heck out of his bear. He REALLY liked this bear but "Kissy teddy" was about to be the victim of an accidental beheading if I didn't act quickly. I took one of his old blanket sleepers and made Kissy pajamas to hide the Frankenstein like sewing job I had to do to secure her head.

Then I got to thinking, what if Kissy was destroyed in an unfortunate dog mauling accident or if some other fate would befall her. I didn't want to live with a homicidal 5 year old who no longer could sleep because Kissy was gone.... so I searched on ebay and lo and behold I found her!

So Sissy teddy joined her sister Kissy teddy, which is an unfortunate name for a boy's teddy bear but, hey, what are ya gonna do, and besides, it fit! My son was appalled that I would have a replacement for Kissy so I had to build up the story line that it was just her sister that was visiting. Like most relatives that stay too long Sissy was barely tolerated but she eventually wore him down and she found a spot on his bed with the rest of the 5 billion stuffed animals that slept there.

I always thought that Sissy never had a chance because of the name I gave her. What self respecting 5 year old alpha male is going to become surgically attached to a stuffed animal named "Sissy"? Let that be a lesson to us Moms out there. If you have a boy you better name their stuffed animals something like 'fang' or 'killer'.

And speaking of stuffed animals on the bed, for years I kept waiting for the police to come and take me away because all the stuffed animals took up 90% of the bed and my son only had the remaining 10% to sleep on. Every time I would clear space and remove some animals my son would drag them back out of the closet and back on the bed. Then the dog decided to sleep on his bed and there went that last 10 %!

Good luck with finding that stuffed animal. Remember, if things get really bad you can always tell DD that the stuffie had to go into the witness protection because Lotso put a contract out on stuffie's butt.. Yeah, she'll buy that.... Maybe I should stick to naming boy teddy bears...

Love this! :rotfl2:

One bad thing happened,

We accidentally left DDs most beloved stuffed animal behind in the room. We realized this at 1AM this morning and I called BC then and this morning. Lost and Found is closed today. Mouse keeping looked around their area, no luck. I will try Monday

DD will be crushed when she figures this out. Hopefully he was just chillin with a Princess for an extra day

Hope you get your daughter's animal back :(
My daughter has a snoopy that she has carried around with her since she is 1 (she's going to be 9) I call that thing by 2nd child :rotfl2:I really hope she decides to leave it home this year, leaving ol Snoop dog somewhere is my biggest fear.

Well we are all packed up!!! :thumbsup2
While packing noticed that we needed a charger for DD's DS for the car
AND a charger for our DVD player (a regular charger, we have the car one) anyone know if they sell replacements for them? And under such short notice?

I am missing a whole bunch of chargers apparently.

Ooh just read that POFQ and ASM have the RFID mugs, purple, orange and green. Has anyone seen them at YC/BC yet?

Oh-so-very excited for our 1st stay at BC. We will be checking in in 6 days....soooooooo excited. My DH and kids don't know we are at BC....it's a surprise!!!:cheer2:

Yes, you can get probably get them from a Best Buy or Game Stop, or RadioShack. If you have a couple of days, Amazon probably probably could save you some dough on them.

Radio shack should be able to hook you up for the DVD one if you know the voltage of the original
Maybe for the DS one too

For those who were just at SAB, can you tell me if kids are able to go down the jib slide wearing a life vest?

Has anyone stayed with four kids at BC standard room? My friend is thinking of joining us and her youngest is 2. She mentioned renting a toddler bed, but I wonder if it will fit with the day bed and be too cramped? What about room for clothes for six people? I want to be together but...

Yes they can. They even had some at the top as per my DS

I would recommend adults sit up on that (if short enough) or you fly down that. Holy mackerel

I think the maximum number of people in a standard room is 5 if 1 is a baby...
