Is there a standard coffee maker in a standard room? Thanks

Unfortunately, the coffee machines are Cuisinart pod machines:

Here is the info from page 1 of this thread:

What kind of coffeemakers are in the resort rooms?

As of October 2011, the drip coffee makers in the BC and YC resort rooms were replaced.

The regular resort rooms and club level rooms (including Deluxe Rooms) now have the Cuisinart Double Pod Machines:

Thanks for the photos Rorey, Cinderumbrella and MickeyT!

Here is what I believe are in the rooms currently. Anyone who has been there more recently, please correct this info if it is wrong:

All regular (non-club level) rooms: Cuisinart Pods

All standard club level rooms, all views (standard meaning non-suite), including Deluxe Club Level Rooms: Cuisinart Pods

Suites (1 BR, 2 BR, VP, Presidential Suites): Keurig K-cup

Beach Club Villas- Mr. Coffee-type makers (4 cup for studio, 10 cup for 1BR, 2BR)

I think this applies to both BC and YC- again, let me know if I am wrong!

We had the cuisinart pod machines in our standard YC room (Joffrey's coffee pods though).

And BC Marketplace is a bit of a zoo at around 8-8:30, although probably less so than one of the food courts at the mods or values. Les Halles was almost deserted the morning we went there at park open. It was awesome!

Why on earth does WDW assume that just because its a "Deluxe Resort" that there isnt a demand for a "food court" QS place. IMHO almost all the Deluxe resorts would be perfect if they also had a food court. Does WDW think that deluxe guests ONLY eat at the fancy TS places for EVERY meal ??? :confused3
This is one of the reasons we are "downgrading" ourselves to moderate resorts for some of our forthcoming visits to WDW. While we LOVE BC, this is one of the reasons we are going to CBR on our next trip. Love ALL the food options of the expansive food court at CBR and all of the other mods.

Syndrome

This is exactly how we feel too and is one of the biggest discussions we had when choosing between POR and YC. It's a huge drawback to us, but it got outweighed by the ease of transportation, balconies and SAB. We were thrilled to spend so little time on busses! We like to eat right at the resort sometimes, and the offerings and the seating at Marketplace and Hurricane Hannah's are limited compared to the food court at POR.

6 more sleeps!!!! I cannot believe it. My DD left to visit my sister for a week today, and she still hasn't asked me about her return trip. She thinks she is coming home - she won't be disappointed I hope! LOL. She texted me a little while ago that she was homesick. Poor muffin. She's just exhausted - 6 hour flight plus 2 hours at the airport beforehand, plus a 3 hour drive with my sister, gonna make the trip to WDW seem like a cakewalk!

I don't have any room requests in so I should call about that. Not sure if I want a daybed... I'm thinking of just having a cot like last time because it was super comfie. Also, I think the girls will want to stay together and the boys together (my friend and I mentioned that to DH tonight and he asked if that meant he had to sleep with the OTHER DH. LOL.

I managed to snag one of the FP+ reservations for BOG on our MK day but the other family couldn't. I did a little reading and it seems like the problem is that they were only doing the test for the RO reservations and they had a package... That would SUCK since I know the kids will NOT want to split up, especially that day (our first full park day...).

What do you think we should request, room wise? We are staying YC CL GV. Maybe a courtyard view? We already asked to be situated close to our friends' room.

I'm in the finally days of our count down and I feel so unprepared. Still need to buy last minute items. My husband is driving me bonkers over the fact he told me he had plenty of clothes for our trip. I pulled all of them out. He has 4 pairs of shorts and 5 shirts. Hello we are staying 7 days!!!!! :sad2: I just don't understand men. His comment was I have 3 packs of underwears & 12 pairs of socks! :eek:guess we have more shopping to do.

I received the "official" invite email on Tuesday for the tester of the magic bands.

My sisters fast pass+ are all planned. Just need to double check ours.

Totally stressing out :scared:we has a small plane crash into a house in the area of our home. 2poor babies lost their lives. I hate to hear about these things b4 I have go get on a plane.

I think we are married to the same man.:thumbsup2

We stayed in room 5150 at the YC. It was CL and GV. We loved it! It was about two doors down from the lounge and elevators. We had a view of the gazebo and a side view of the lake. We had a daybed and the room was in perfect condition. Our location could not be better. The area was extremely quiet! I would recommend gazebo view for your request. Have a wonderful time.

Made it to Ft Lauderdale. Landed in one piece Thursday early morning. First time I ever felt sick on a flight :crazy2: lots of turbulence. Trying to get on EST here, before we get to wdw! Getting up at 8:00 am just about killed me this morning :rolleyes2.
Enjoying the sun, & surf :beach: hotel is half a block from the beach.
This time next Saturday we'll be in wdw! :cheer2:

I agree. This a big reason why we havent done deluxes so far. This trip is just dh and I and only a few days so not a big deal and I figured i'd gve it a shot, but with the kids i need to have food court options.

us, too! enjoy the beach in the meantime!

I think you should request to be close to a giant pitcher of bottomless Sunken Treasure ;)

I don't think you can request much besides a day bed since you already have the full balconies by virtue of staying at the YC (as opposed to the BC). The other fly in the ointment (Not Buzzy, some other fly... :scared: ) is that you will be limited to asking that your room be near your friends room. I think that will be the limiting factor.

Are your reservations linked?

Don't forget to call housekeeping before you leave your room and request that your room be made up before you come back at X O'clock.

I'd also get sticky notes to put on the back of your door where you could leave reminders like:

*Take room keys and park tickets
*Take Sun glasses and wine glasses
*Take camera and phones
*Call housekeeping to request time
*charge stun gun for unruly children and cranky adults
* Sunscream for the G man and A
*Refillable mugs
*Take bacon to throw off the bounty hunters
*Zip lock bags for stealing/borrowing Pretzel bread
*All toy guns purchased from Adventureland must be on "safety"

The sticky notes would also be good for communication purposes:

ATTENTION OCCUPANTS! Mom will be back from the pool in one hour. If this room is not cleaned up and all your junk put away she will be donating it to the nearest dumpster ASAP. THIS is your FINAL warning!

Nothing beats the soft talk on vacation. It's not like you won't have to remind everybody 50 billionteen times to take their crap to the parks otherwise they are being sent back on the bus alone while Mommy and Daddy toast their absence with a liquor filled libation.

Re: renovations, Dee, thanks for update, and Teena, thanks so much for giving educated guess on status as of next fall. It was apparently not totally clear what I was asking (the perils of typing quickly between periods of playing with toddlers), but my point was simply that if we are again going to try for yc/bc (versus dolphin-or somewhere else), we would like as good a chance as possible to be able to get a first floor room. So it seems like yc first floor would almost certainly still be fully available at that time, and bc likely so.

I know I've asked before but I'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the no-food-court aspect of this, lol. So it looks like these are our options for QS breakfasts:

- Ale & Compass - continental breakfast only

- BC Marketplace - scrambled eggs/egg sandwich

Then if we want to do a TS breakfast we have Cape May or Captain's Grille.

Does that correctly sum up all our options?

No one has mentioned room service yet? That would've been our option had we not chosen to stay CL this time...

Glad you landed safely (sorry to hear about the rough flight).
We will be there Saturday too and then YC check in on Sunday!!! We will look for you!

If you can't be at SAB with a Sunken Treasure, nothing starts a day off better than a fresh-brewed coffee and a post by NinjaMom. I think my giggling is going to wake up DH if I'm not careful...

I had the pod machine in July but had Joffrey's pods

Glad you made it to sunny Florida. Have fun at the beach

That's weird. My trip was after yours and I'm pretty sure we still had the Cuisinart pods in our room. Fortunately, I didn't have to use them.

Once someone provides me with a picture of the new coffee set up (Joffrey's packets), I'll change the picture from the first page.

I was going to order Folgers single pods from Garden Grocer.......I assumed those would fit?

I will do that today

One bad thing happened,

We accidentally left DDs most beloved stuffed animal behind in the room. We realized this at 1AM this morning and I called BC then and this morning. Lost and Found is closed today. Mouse keeping looked around their area, no luck. I will try Monday

DD will be crushed when she figures this out. Hopefully he was just chillin with a Princess for an extra day
