I may be mistaken but I think the cutoff date is earlier than 8/29. I was never notified. When I went online I saw the link for magic bands and fast pass + on My Disney Experience. I customized my bands and received them last week. I still haven't received an email saying I'm part of the test.

Same for us :)

... I think I may cancel my trip. My little sister is having her first baby. She is 4 days late at this point with no signs of having the baby anytime soon. They said they will induce on Thursday. I think I want to be here right after the baby is born. I mean, I want to be at SAB but if she doesn't have the baby until Thursday night , then I would only have Fri and Sat before leaving to go out of town. I am so excited for my new niece. I just don't think I want to leave so soon

IDK what to do. My mom says go on the trip but I am torn:confused3

Go on vacation and leave a flat Couchy with your Mom. When the baby finally comes your Mom can wave Flat Couchy at the baby and Wa LAA! You were there.....

But seriously, what they all said is so true. Space after that baby comes is the best gift you can give your sister. She's going to be inundated from both sides of the family. You'll be there for the rest of that baby's life. Later is the time to dig in and enjoy that baby!

I have a question for the folks getting the bands...did you all do online check in? I'm coming in on 8/31 to BC but don't want to risk any chance at all of getting the bands. My online check in is forcing me to assign a pin which we never do charges on our ktw cards.

We did not do online check in. We have our bands and when we had an issue with some technology, an IT CM thanked us for taking part in the test ( never received an email btw).

Ok, question for Teena or anyone else who may know. I read on another thread that the BC CL will be undergoing extensive rehab beginning in Oct./Nov. I have 4 rooms booked there for our annual family trip and would not like to be in the middle of construction with 5 grandchildren!! This was the only resort I could get 4 rooms at my cast discount. I am now very nervous about our trip!!!

I have been told that Fall was original start date but now it is early January. The first thing to be done is the CL lounge. At that time, the lounge will be relocated to the Presidential Suite. When the lounge is done and up and working, then they will start the Presidential Suite and the rooms in that small hallway. When that is done, they will do another section of the club level floor. Then they will move to the fourth floor, section by section. And so forth. I've been there through a few rehabs and you will not be inconvenienced. Your rooms will not be impacted. Noise will be only during hours when people are at the pool or parks. Every Disney resort does rehab every five years and the way they do it does not impact guests. In the few cases where people have young children and go back to the resort during the daytime for naps, if they are in a part of the resort where they may hear noise above them or around them and it impacts nap time, just let someone know and they will move you to another room. Honestly, it is not a big deal. Normal operating procedure at any Disney resort.

You don't have to worry about this Fall from what I have been told ... latest I was told this was right before heading to California (early July). I will double check tomorrow but I'm sure I would have heard if they were going to start in two months.

Thank you Teena! I am going to keep our reservations, no choice really, and hope for the best. You know how I feel about saying anything while on a cast discount. I always worry that I should keep my mouth closed and just go along with whatever is thrown my way. This is the first time I have booked all 4 rooms with a cast discount, I usually use the Military salute discount. Since Suzy is joining us this year, and she has had a really bad tear, I really want it to be a special trip.

Right now the people getting bands are all staying at YC between 8/2 and 8/26? 29? -- I can't remember. From what I've read, the current test is at YC, AKL, POP, and one other place I forgot (but it's not BC). Sorry!

Thanks for the replies. I did see that it was all yc but I was just hoping that maybe our dates/resort might be in the next test group. Praying for pixie dust. Have had lots of troubles with my reservations this trip so it would be nice to have something good happen.

You are seriously overestimating my dis board skills. I'm not even sure if I am responding to this "quote" correctly....
I do have a couple of pictures I just took and will be happy to email them to someone to post for me. I have no idea how to post a picture on here myself and am not likely to figure it out soon. :)

Saw the pics - you did a good job! Thank you!

Thanks for clarifying, Teena! I read this on another thread, too, and it had me worried. We'll be there the last week of October. I've honestly been stressing a bit about how much we're spending in a CL lagoon view room, but nothing else was available. We'll be fine, but I'm really hoping for a free dining or room only discount to help bring down the cost. And if the club level experience was in any way diminished because of rehabs, I'd be stressing even more. So very grateful for your update. :)

Couchy: go on your trip!!!! She will need so much more help after the first two weeks of sleepless nights! You will be so relaxed and rested after your trip; and she won't feel guilty about you missing it!

So true!!

That is a total dilemma! Is this your 1st niece /nephew? When my sister (were bffs, talk daily, live a few miles apart) had my nephew I was there at hospital, stayed well past when everyone else left hospital & was at my sisters home when he came home & helped everyday. You know your family best & how much help your sister would accept. My sister wanted lots of help, lol! If your sisters private she may want time alone. Ask your sister & see what she has to say.

When my SIL had my other nephew, I was at hospital, but then she wanted space at home before having visitors.

Everyone's different.

She is pretty private!. I love her to bits but she is sooooo private. I am sure she will need time to absorb all the hoopla, I just so excited. I have a niece and nephew from my older bro but it is a much different scenario. I also have an 11 step niece that is awesome but this is so different for me for sooooo many reason. DH does not want to cancel at all

Hi All, booked a one bedroom in August at the BC. Could anyone recommend a good room, preferably with a nice view. Also, did you like the one bedroom?

Thanks !!!

Right now the people getting bands are all staying at YC between 8/2 and 8/26? 29? -- I can't remember. From what I've read, the current test is at YC, AKL, POP, and one other place I forgot (but it's not BC). Sorry!

Also, not everyone at those resorts were selected for the bands and Fastpass+, according to several CMs. I am staying at AKL during the testing period, but have not been selected.

I totally agree! My youngest did nothing but sleep the first week or so. They really do not much but eat & sleep for awhile. Go enjoy your trip. There will be lots of opportunity to help after you come back ::yes::
I wish I had family in town when they got older for babysitting. I was always envious of my friends who could leave for a night out, or weekend away, and have sisters or parents who would babysit. My family is in the east coast, and my mother & father in law were just to old, 80's , to keep up with a toddler for long.

17 Days!!!

Itching to start packing, but going in summertime means that we are wearing the clothes we'll wear on vacation...and that means I have to be patient:yoda:

(waits for comments from the peanut gallery...:rolleyes1)

DD13 did great getting her braces on yesterday...think she's regretting being excited about it though :headache:

Only two or three other "big" things on the calendar until vacation! Dr. appt on Wednesday, Dance Camp for DD10 next week and guidance counselor meeting for DD13 to change schedule on the 12th....

I can relate! We leave in under 2 weeks. It's hard to pack while your still wearing the stuff ::yes:: but I've decided to start pulling things out, washing, and packing. I'll leave myself 3 pr of shorts out, and a few tops to wear here and pack the rest. I'll just have to wash a bit more. Then the day before wash and throw them in the suitcase.

Hello, long time no post. After our fab wedding trip last year we are giving Disney a miss this year and staying in Europe. But, next summer we are back to the US and our 1 year countdown is growing ever closer. We are currently booked for 9 nights on I Drive and 12 nights at POFQ. However, since the refurb I am no longer feeling the magic of FQ and the wobbles set in on Friday. I am in touch with my wonderful travel consultant and a move to Yacht Club is looking a go-er. DH is having kittens over the extra cost on an already pricey vacation ( flights are just sheesh) but I'm telling him it will be money well spent and I will be so much happier. So, with a bit of luck and a good following wind, I hope that soon I will be back avidly reading every post on this thread and getting more and more excited over our trip and hopefully will get to meet some more wonderful Disers.

Congrats on your next WDW trip, and YC! But I must admit I'm curious why you don't like the POFQ refurb? We stayed there in January, and loved the look of the new rooms, and so glad they got rid of the pedestal sinks, and went with something that gives more counter space for toiletries.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful Teena today.
:thumbsup2

Anyone know if the fridges have been replaced yet at YC? :dance3:

oops sorry, Nanette I just saw your post from this morning, with pics, 4 pages back!! I can't keep up

Yacht and Beach Clubs ... see my previous post. Rest of refrigerators that need replaced are due to arrive at resort today or tomorrow. Right now, the fifth floors are done on both sides and the rest of the resorts ... there are over 200 that are due to arrive today and tomorrow and it will take at least two weeks to replace.

I'm sorry if this is redundant but I haven't found the answer combing through this thread. We're staying for the first time at the Beach Club villas (one bedroom). Usually we do 2 separate rooms at the Yacht club.
I see that there is a coffee maker. Do we bring our own coffee? Is there milk available for purchase in the lobby? We're using Magical Express from MCO, not stopping anywhere.
Also, no robes are provided, correct?

Very nervous about this choice, as we have 2 teens and will be sharing one bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!

A few things are putting us off. Elliott Dyson is no longer at Scatcats. Changes to the foodcourt menus. I think the rooms look really dark with the new covers and the 70's carpet. And, there are now only 3 drawers for clothes!! - great if you are only staying a few days, but us Brits come for weeks. A move to Yacht will also give us the DDP rather than the QSDP and now that DD is older (she will be 10 next trip) she is happier to enjoy a nice meal around EPCOT rather than going to DTD on the boat.
