What a plethora of information in this thread! Thank you so much for the first page of info, it's really been helpful. I was just gifted 2 nights from a fabulous friend at BCV for the Princess half 2014 and it will be our first time at BCV! Any tips or suggestions for a noob and two 13 year old girls? We're doing a split stay at Pop and this will be the last 2 nights of our trip and we're very excited! :cool1:

I am SO excited for you!!! Are you staying in a Studio? Generally speaking the views from BCV are nothing to write home about BUT we stayed in a one bedroom villa a few years back and could see Spaceship Earth and the upper Illuminations from our balcony. I requested Epcot-view and upper floor. :confused3

Coffee Question Number 6:

But one animal did cause some debate amongst my family members:

We came up with 4 different answers about what this is.

What do you think? Survey says...

Thanks for your guesses, everyone!!!

My guess was duckie

My husband Mark said baby seal :confused3

Nate voted platypus and

Ben said kangaroo

Speaking of stuff in the lobby......

Does anyone remember this, right outside of the Marketplace?

My kids always said her face scared them so I took a picture of it during one of my conferences and sent it to them!!!

Hey, Jay!

The folks at the Beach Club must have agreed with you and your family because this is what is there now:

Hi Everyone -

We have our first trip to the BC the starting Sept 14 - only 51 days away! :cool1:

But a quick question - there aren't refrigerators in every room? I was really counting on having a refrigerator...

ETA - I just read further and see they are being swapped out. Hopefully they'll be all set when we get there. This thread is a wealth of info thanks!

Another question now - I see a lot of people are getting magic bands. Do you think we can get them for our September trip??

We arrive the same day!! :thumbsup2

I think it's a homicidal maniac waiting to fly from the towel, land on my face and suck my brains out, ala some creature from Stephen King's new Novel "Beach Club Brain Blow Out, Revenge of the Clown Slide".

What did I win?

Signed ~NM, who does not do well on Rorschach tests....

I know we discussed this a while back but I'm curious. What other resorts other than YC are participating in the magic band test in August. My sister asked me..... I couldn't answer.

She has named me "miss disney" it was funny it kind of looked at me funny.... U don't know.

The August test includes YC, Pop, AKL and CR.

Thanks Amanda! Yes, it's a studio. I'm unsure of where to request, I was thinking pool view only because I don't think we will be in the room on either of the nights that we will be there (to view illuminations!).

I kind of wanted to be close to that super-secret path that goes out to the Epcot walkway though, so I was thinking of figuring out what to request to be near that???Anyone?

I tried searching the thread and didn't really find an answer to this question (so I'm sorry if it's been asked a million times).

MK bus - Do BC and YC share? Which resort is picked up first? Any issues of getting on a busy (especailly around park opening time?) Does the bus share with any other resort (Possibly BW?)

Thanks for your help! That's the only bus we'll have to take on our trip this year. SO excited to be within walking distance of DHS and Epcot!

There is a nice sidewalk to goes from the BCV's to the walkway. It is located between the resort and the woods. There are also plenty of exit doors from the BCV's so it isn't too hard to get out of the building. I would suggest that you request "close to BC" since that will also be closest to the walkway.

The BCV's are also closer to the buses than the BC is, which is nice.

Here is a map which gives you an idea of where the BCV's are in relation to the walkways, Epcot and the BC.

Thanks! I'll have to go back and find that map that was marked with areas like red for pool view, yellow for epcot/woods view. I think "close to BC" would be the same as a courtyard view? I'm unsure what the online checkin will give me as choices when I get to that time.

The buses usually only share bewteen YC and BC, with YC being picked up first. From the BC it is a direct ride to the park. On the return trip, YC would be dropped off first.

There are times when a bus will share with BWI, Swan and Dolphin, but that doesn't happen very often.

Ok, I found it. I think I will request courtyard view and it will get me where I want to be, on the closer areas to BC and the walkway although I don't know if I'm sacrificing a pretty pool/canal view for this. Anyone stayed in the yellow/red areas and thought it was an ok view? (I know none of the BCV views are stunning)

1) The Pool View rooms all look over the quiet pool. All of these rooms are even numbered (but not all even numbered rooms have this view).

2) EPCOT views all have a view towards the park. Some have a view of Spaceship Earth and some have a view towards World Showcase- with an opportunity to see the Illuminations fireworks. These rooms face towards the roadway to BWV, but have reasonable landscaping blocking much of the traffic. Traffic noise may be apparent from the room balcony, but should be minimal from inside the villa itself.

3) BC Courtyard/Epcot Views look out on the nearby Beach Club. The lower floors will have a view of the resort and the surrounding landscaping. Upper floors (4 and 5- possibly 3) will likely have a glimpse of some Epcot structures and most all should have a glimpse of the Illuminations fireworks.

4) BC Courtyard/MGM/BW Views look out on the nearby Beach Club. The lower floors will also have a view of that resort and the surrounding landscaping. Upper floors (4 and 5- possibly 3) will likely have a glimpse towards BW, Swan, Dolphin and Disney/MGM Studios. From the 5th floor (possibly the 4th also), you may be able to see ToT, Earffel Tower (at Disney/MGM) and Blizzard Beach in the distance. There is also a view of Epcot’s American Adventure Pavilion and France’s Eiffel Tower. The Illuminations fireworks are NOT visible, but the sound is very evident and the explosion flashes are very apparent.

In this BCV map:
1) is Blue
2) is Green
3) is Red
4) is Yellow

Hi Amanda! Your 1/2 Marathon trip report is so helpful. I'm running the PHM next year and just booked Poly, so I really appreciate the specifics in your report. A quick question - did you toss the arm sleeves or carry them? :)

Hello,
I checked in to Beach Club yesterday, water/lagoon view, 2nd floor and I have a brand new refrigerator. Bellman noted to me that they were swapping out and that mine was new. He said most if not all were already switched out at the resort. Not sure if thats true, but it is what he said.

O good to hear! Thanks for letting us know!

My schedule for August is crazy because of Jeanne and Lily being here and then me going there. So, here it is:

August Work Days (hours are 8:00 AM to 6:20 PM):

Sunday, August 4
Sunday, August 11
Sunday, August 18
Monday, August 19
Sunday, September 1
Monday, September 2

Hope I still get to meet everybody that is going to be there in August!!! Look for Princess Lily and family at SAB on August 5, 6, 7 and 8th!!

We will be checking in on Sunday 11th, due to land Orlando 2pm. Planning on heading to Seaworld for evening if still awake after an early start.:wave2:

So I just booked a mini portrait session at Beach Club for Halloween morning (just happened to be the only day they had a time that worked for us)! Anyone have any experience with this? I was planning for mostly bday pics of the twins with a few family pics. Sooo excited :)

We have a 2 hour session booked in just over 2 weeks time, really excited about it. Hoping to get over to AOA for some shots as well as loads in and around BC. Will let you know how we get on.
