About the laundry situation. When I was at the beach club June 20th to the 26th the laundry room by the quiet pool had one broken washer and one broken dryer but the two front loading washing machines were wonky. I was there at 6:00 am with three loads to do. The two front loading machines got down to 1 minute left in the cycle but did not cut off. I went outside to see if there was a line to maintenance (there is) but then I went back in and looked to see if I could unplug them. Just about the time I was reaching to unplug them to get them to stop spinning they shut off. That was about 5 minutes after the 1 minute was displayed. I am sorry that I forgot to address the issue with the front desk. It seems like it has been a problem for awhile. I was previously at POR as well and did several loads there and had no broken machines. I hope BC fixes this soon.

I don't think the front loaders were broken. That is normal procedure. As most HE front loaders have sensors once they get down to the 1 minute display, they will stop, spin gently, stop, "sense", until they (the clever machine) decide that the load is done. Sometimes it is a minute - sometimes it's 10. This is how mine works and most of the others I've come in contact with.

I'm under a week!!!!!!!!

I DID IT! After hemming and hawing over pretty much every moderate and deluxe resort, I finally decided and booked my 30th birthday trip with DH and I for 4/4-4/8 at BC. I would prefer to stay at YC but no standard rooms were available for that time frame. I'll still stalk the schedule, but I'm excited that I'm going to stop looking at different resorts over and over and over!

So I have been lurking on this thread since we booked our Beach Club stay and decided it was by far time to come out of the shadows and post (Ninja Mom you finally got to me).

We (me, DH, DD 6, DD4) were originally booked at the Beach Club from 10/25 to 11/2 but I just switched out last two days (10/31 -11/2) to Poly CL! I have always wanted to stay at both resorts so this will be the best of both worlds. Even better news is I was able to switch our Cape May breakfast reservation from 11/1 to earlier in the week so we don't have to travel back over the Beach Club once we get to the poly. (So i'm about to cancel an 11/1 8:30 am breakfast reservation if anyone needs it) I am so excited to stay at the beach club and wanted to thank you guys for all the great info and for keeping me entertained while i'm supposed to be working all day. I am really looking forward to being able to hop over to Epcot so easily during F&W and my girls are looking forward to the Pirate Cruise I booked for them!

After I recovered from my surgery last summer I was determined to take my Mom on a girls trip to Flower and Garden. It would have been just the two of us. Mom didn't make it and now that trip will never happen. It took a life experience like that for me to realize that you need to go for it while you can. You never know what life may bring. Make those memories now while you can and don't look back.

Enjoy your trip! (and remember to book another bounce back trip before you leave the next time, you can always cancel it 5 days before the trip if you book a room only!)

October 31-November 2: AKL CL
November 2-9: BC

I like the way he thinks!!! You are doing what I did... AP + Miles + DVC + TIW = not a lot of money to go have fun!!!

We're staying at YC for the first time, next month. We are moving to POR for a part of our trip. I know bell services can transfer our luggage, but what exactly is the protocol at YC? Should we take the bags, ourselves to bell services on the morning we transfer? Do they prefer we call someone to come to the room and pick them up? Is this something we need to arrange in advance or can we just call the morning of?
Not our first trip, but our first split-stay. Just want to be sure we do it right. Thanks for any advice.

I just did this from BC to OKW. You can call and they will pick up the luggage and transfer to your new resort BUT it doesn't arrive until between 1pm and 5pm SO be sure you don't need anything you transfer! Once your room is ready at the new resort you call bell service and they will bring it up to your room.

We do split stays all the time and it's really easy to use ME. Just indicate airport to resort ME on your reservation for resort #1 and resort to airport ME on your reservation for resort #2. We often receive an ME letter the night before the transfer from resort #1 to resort #2 encouraging us to make arrangements for ME to the airport, but we just disregard that because we're covered at the conclusion of our stay at resort #2!
