Hello, everyone! Sitting in our room waiting for the latest storm to end so we can head over to Hollywood Studios. My daughter has decided to try Tower of Terror and I am very excited. Cross your fingers that we don't need to leave through the chicken exit!



So, we ended up taking the chicken exit which, ironically, involves an elevator ride.

The elevator part makes me laugh too!

Dee that park packing tip is A+! Funny thing about ponchos...I looked everywhere for disposable ones for our upcoming trip, Target, Dollar Store, Walmart. I could only find one unopened from previous trips in the house. Could not find them for sale *anywhere* and had to order from Amazon.com. They'll be here today...hopefully it'll stop raining here too so DH & I won't have to break into them tonight for our Tanglewood concert Although the house is quiet, the rain is nice and coffee hot this morning.

MagicBands due here today as well...two sets of them.

Simba's Girl Target and Walmart were both sold out? Wow! This was the first time I've found disposable ponchos at our Target, but now they have an entire bin of them. Fingers crossed that our MagicBands arrive today with no issues! Why are you getting two sets?

ScottMC, what would we teachers do without large desk drawers in which to hide snacks from our families? Sharing is rough in the summer.

They won't last in your desk long Scott! I have an open box (chocolate ones, my favorite) in my kitchen and I was eating one last night while on DISing on my iPad. I'm good as long as I don't open the box!

So, Dee...when you say "bag check", did you actually have to go through the long "people with bags" line, just more quickly when they got to you, or did you get to do the "no bags" line since they were see-through?

My original scheme with the string bags, when we don't have ponchos, involves skipping the bag check lines.

Camera and refill mugs in hand

String Bag and other small goodies, including Ziploc bags-Always ziploc bags-in pocketses.

Everything goes into string bag once you are through.

With the ponchos, I felt obligated to send one of us through the bag check, but it was quicker since the checkers could see everything and give the bags a quick squeeze to make sure we weren't sneaking anything in.

I just spent 8 nights there and never noticed this either! I thought I was quite observant....guess not!

That is too funny that I saw you but didn't know it was you, otherwise I would have said hello!

Hopefully the daily monsoon subsides into daily drizzle for everyone there.

I heard through the grapevine that Teena has once again received the Presidential Volunteer Award for all of the service and time she spends helping out at Jeanne's school in Las Vegas !!!



She was presented with this award by the resort manager, GSOs and several other managers. The award includes a letter and pin from President Obama and also a grant from the Walt Disney Company to Jeanne's school.




Teena has received this recognition in the past, and there was a guest onsite who captured the moment in photos.

Here you go! This if from the FAQ post on Page 1:

Step-Saving Super Secret Entrance to the Beach Club

There is a side entrance/exit to the Beach Club which takes you mere steps, probably 3 minutes, from the International Gateway Entrance. It is near room 1501.

This was really handy for us a couple of times this summer when it was wicked hot and when it had just started pouring.

You have to go through a lot of hallways to find it, so the best way to do this is to follow the signs to room 1501 from the lobby.
