Too funny! Our local Market Basket started carrying these in the summer when the whole Twinkie crisis hit. I took pictures, too and based on Teena's recommendation, I got my boys hooked on them.

My teenager even liked the sugar-free orange sponge cake, until he found out they were sugar free!

:)

That is awesome!!!! We were able to customize our in the website and we are staying within the test dates. But so far no email I'm a little discouraged we won't be getting them. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Congrats!!!!!! :cool1:

We customized ours and had not gotten an email until our ticker said 22 days left. It was a Saturday and they arrived today at 9:50am....Hoping that you will soon get your Magic Bands pixiedust:

Those are Lily, Jeanne and Bob's favorites. Mine are the chocolate version. Warning Scott ... you can't eat just one!!!

I need to exhale and and extend a big refreshing thank you to the participants of this thread. Your good nature and positive outlook is infectious. After spending the last few days participating in multiple discussions about MagicBands and FP+ I am exhausted from what feels like negative vibes. My customized bands arrived today and the kids were super-excited to see their names on both the box and the band. I admit the presentation is quite nice and I may be as excited as them :cool1:

Thanks to you folks I can't wait for our first YC stay. See you at SAB (I'll be the guy with a shaved head rockin' a red MagicBand)!!

Here are the bands if anyone is curious

Thanks for sharing the picture! I know what you mean about the negativity. UPS added to it today by not delivering my bands when they were supposed to (evidently my address no longer exists -- does that mean I don't have to pay the taxes due next week?:rotfl:) but your picture cheered me up! I'll watch for you at SAB! :)

Thank you all so much for your thoughts. It was a difficult decision to make but one of those things that the time had come for. :cat: It was very peaceful. The magical thing was that when we went in there were no showers in the area (I checked on radar before we left) but right as he passed you could hear the rain pouring outside...I told DD13 that it needed to rain to make a rainbow to the bridge  and I believe that with everything I am. We buried him in our little orchard so he could watch the catbirds and others as they hang in the trees. DD13 placed her "blankie" in with him :lovestruc I did not expect that at all.

And that is what has me wanting to "opt out" now. If we don't get to use the legacy FP in a park we hop to. That will make being in the test a detriment rather than a benefit. Even if I get "special" Wishes viewing. It wouldn't be as great to have park hopper passes, and that is what we purchased.

Time will tell and we shall see what happens...Hope if I don't like it then we are able to to "opt out" during the trip though.

I'm so sorry, the loss of a fur baby is devastating. What an amazing act of love by your DD!

Guess where we are? Picking up pizza to bring home to eat for dinner less than one mile from our house! We. Are. Finally. Home!

Our WDW vacation is officially over for 2013. :-(

Bring on 2014 planning! I'm thinking June.....

Oh yeah! I bet that will be a yummy pizza! As much as I love vacation, I always love coming home.

Please, do you really think Tom let me buy them? I'll have to buy them secretly and hide them in my desk at work!

Pretty cool! Have a great trip!!

:welcome: to the thread

Not sure if you posted when I was away- I haven't updated the list yet with new friends.

Here is the info on daybeds from the FAQ. From what I understand, there are two different sizes of daybeds in the rooms. One is larger and suitable for an adult, the other is better for a child. The CM who checks you in to your room should be able to tell you if your room has a daybed, but may not know which one.

Our room last week had a daybed and it was perfectly comfortable for my 15 year old 5'8" son

Kicking myself! I had a tape measure with me- of course- but I didn't think to measure the daybed!

Will my room have a daybed?

Some rooms at the Beach and Yacht Club have daybeds. You may request a room with a daybed, but it is not guaranteed. You may also request a rollaway cot to your room when you arrive. This is provided free of charge and is subject to availability.

There are two types of daybeds - one that fits a normal sized adult and the other that is best suited for a small teenager or a child. There is no way of knowing at the front desk which type of daybed is in what rooms. It's totally luck of the draw and the CM can't tell you which is in your room if you get a room with a daybed.

Daybeds

Some rooms have daybeds, which may be requested when you make your reservation, but are not guaranteed. Families of 5 (over the age of 3) are given priority access to the rooms with a daybed.

You may also request a rollaway cot to your room when you arrive. This is provided free of charge and is subject to availability.

Pittpantherfan, heatherbelle, sgtgoofy119, pixarmom, cburek and jcondrad have provided these pictures of daybeds and crib.

Here is a picture of the rollaway cot- These are provided upon request, free of charge, based on availability. Thanks for the photo, Feckless!

Thank you so much for the information :). We are trying to plan a trip for this spring and we would love to stay here. I just wasn't sure if it would fit our family, but it doesn't sound like a problem.

I never received an email and I am not able to customize the bands either, despite our August trip during that time period with some AKL days.

Hello, everyone! Sitting in our room waiting for the latest storm to end so we can head over to Hollywood Studios. My daughter has decided to try Tower of Terror and I am very excited. Cross your fingers that we don't need to leave through the chicken exit!

So, we ended up taking the chicken exit which, ironically, involves an elevator ride.

Speaking of rain...

This is how we managed the poncho issue-

Some of you know that I have an unhealthy obsession with string bags and Ziplocs.

This is how we packed for the Disney parks last week.

We rolled our ponchos into a large (2 or 2 1/2 gallon bag). Any other stuff we brought into the parks, like moleskin, extra memory cards, camera batteries and journals for notes, went into another, smaller plastic bag. We also carried another empty large ziplock to keep everything dry if it rained. We would wear the ponchos and then the string bag and contents would fit into the bag. When it stopped raining, we tried to wring out the ponchos, roll them up and place them back in their bag so they didn't get everything else wet.

It was great going through bag check. We had two clear see-through bags that the checkers didn't even have to open, and someone else carried the deflated string bag in their pocket. Once past that point, the two bags went back into the string bag.

PS- my bag was custom made by DISer Mickeystoontown. She often adds a Mickey Head outline decoration to the bag but I preferred to have mine without one.

PPS- the observant reader may notice that some of these bags are Hefty, not Ziploc. A rose by any other name...

Great packing idea for the ponchos, I never know what to do with them once they are wet. I'm off to the kitchen to get a ziplock bag for the ponchos now.:)

Morning everyone!!!

Today's coffee quiz:

Question 3: There are 4 elevator doors at the Beach Club near the Market Place. What is remarkable about this one, the first one on the right as you face the MP?

Washers have been a real pain in the patootie!! I even got up and headed to do clothes at 6:00 am. And still had to wait behind someone...only one working

Morning Dee :wave2:

Oh and I think I know the answer to todays ?
It's fake!! No real lift in there :lmao:

Hubbdave Sorry you had a crummy day yesterday :(

Dee that park packing tip is A+! Funny thing about ponchos...I looked everywhere for disposable ones for our upcoming trip, Target, Dollar Store, Walmart. I could only find one unopened from previous trips in the house. Could not find them for sale *anywhere* and had to order from Amazon.com. They'll be here today...hopefully it'll stop raining here too so DH & I won't have to break into them tonight for our Tanglewood concert:worried: Although the house is quiet, the rain is nice and coffee hot this morning.

MagicBands due here today as well...two sets of them.:banana:

Thats all for now...

You guys are quick this morning!!!

Correct, there is no working elevator behind that door. If you go around back to the other side, this is what you will find:
