What time are you going to be at SAB? We're planning a resort day today and I'm sure it will include SAB. I would love to meet another Diser.

I'm thinking around 2:00 depending on how long Sanaa will be!!

Fingers crossed NO rain !

It wasn't you!! Worst thunderstorm yet around 4:30 or so yesterday afternoon. It was really coming down for at least an hour or so.

It started right after we were seated for dinner!!! Lots of lightning, thunder and wind.

What's even longer than waiting for your vacation to start? Waiting for your Magic Bands to arrive! They're supposed to be here before noon today.... Add that in with waiting for DH to get home so I can steal his frequent flier miles because Southwest has opened up the booking window for my Princess Half trip, AND waiting for a second UPS truck with a package that needs a signature and you have a recipe for a very long day!

I bet you're sorry. LOL!!!

If you're still there on the 21st, I'll be working that day.
We'll be there then... hope we see you!!

One of the highlights of this trip has been hearing my teenager declare several times that this has been the best vacation ever.

What more can I ask?

:thumbsup2

Soon, soon, soon :yay::yay::yay:

:banana::banana::banana:

We just said goodbye to Teena and are now in the car on the road. I want to burst into tears but don't want to get made fun of by my family. We had a lovely morning at SAB and a great chat with our favorite greeter! Lunch from HH and used up all but two TS and two CS meals by stocking up with fruit, pastries and drinks for the ride home.

Thank you BC for helping our family make magical memories!

Sniff sniff.....

That's exactly how I get!

We got our bands!!
Can't believe how close it is getting!

NM:You have the "Dutchie" song stuck in my head now! LOL

Hello Everyone. I stayed at the Beach Club last summer and never made a report about it. I had a Deluxe Room and I must say it was one of the best rooms and Concierge service that I have had. The reason for my delay is that unfortunately I became very ill on my trip. I started my vacation walking and left in wheelchair. I had Double Pneumonia and Renal Failure. Went from the plane to the Hospital. But that's not what's important. I had heard some bad things about the Concierge Service and let me tell you they were absolutely wonderful. I thought the lounge was roomy enough, the Cast members all friendly and they did their best with my special diet requirements. As far as them hovering over anyone ( I saw someone complain about that) I did not find any such thing. Did they pay attention and grab your dishes when you were done? Absolutely, but because it's small and there isn't much room they almost have to. Never were they intrusive always polite and friendly. We had the best room, 2nd floor with a huge balcony. On our first night one of the Cast Members loaded our refrigerator up with sodas. I can't compliment the Beach Club enough, when I took ill they provided me free of a charge a Wheel chair ( I could no longer walk) . On our last day, I could barely move and my kid's went upstairs and asked the Concierge Cast members if there was somewhere I could go as I was so sick. The let us stay in the room until 6pm. I loved it there and really wanted to go back, but my nightmare of a trip is still fresh in my mind and I just can't right now. Hopefully my next trip I will be able to. Just loved it there though. :)

YAY! 2 door bells and 2 packages were left at he front door....opened the boxes and there were our Magic Bands :cheer2::woohoo:

Dee: Thank you for the pics. It helps to see what we can look forward to!

B's Marie: So exciting to receive the Magic Bands....a sign that we are getting close to vacation :cool1:

Hope everyone is having a great time on their Disney vacation. For the rest of us here waiting for ours, we will be living through this dis board until then...:banana:

Yay! Awesome to hear. We are staying in a Deluxe room for the first time in November. This report makes me so super excited! I'm sorry you were so ill on your vacation.

Oh good! I'm sorry you all got rained on but glad it wasn't our family that put a hex on Mother Nature. :-)

We are still traveling home.....just south of Louisville right now. We stopped in Chattanooga (halfway point between Chicago and Orlando) to sleep then we were back on the road at 9am.

I did not book a bounce back offer although there was one in our room. Our CM discount is better than the BB offer. I looked at it but didn't notice the dates or percentage off.

Aargh! UPS' Next Day Air division has decided that my address doesn't exist. That's confusing seeing as they delivered a letter here from Disney just last Thursday!! Disney is not being helpful at all and will not call UPS despite the fact that the UPS website asks them to do so. UPS is supposed to be calling me back within the hour, but that was well over an hour ago. As much as I would like the Magic Bands, I would also like to make sure we aren't wiped out of UPS' database!

Ironic that the "regular" UPS guy stopped by a few minutes ago. At least he knows we're here.

Sounds like NC!!!:scared1:

I am so glad you took time to write your review and I am so excited with what you had to say. Thanks. I am also glad that you are better now!:)

I've been lurking along, but everytime I miss a few days of this thread, it takes me an hour to catch up! Has been fun reading about everyone's great July trips. So I thought I'd unlurk long enough to say 10 DAYS UNTIL WDW!!!!!!:cool1:
Hopefully I'll have some good pix of my own to share soon.

I feel so very unready, especially because we'll be away this Thurs - Sun on a bay cruise, so I've really only got 6 days before we leave, and those are work days. Just realized I probably really need to buy some clothes for the trip - no way my paltry wardrobe will get me through 10 days in the parks and the heat!

My family wants to know if it rained at WDW yesterday? It rained multiple times every single day when we were there but it was sunny and beautiful when we left yesterday. We were just wondering if our family was the tiki idol that brought bad luck (rain) to all of WDW (like the tiki idol when the Brady's went to Hawaii).

My guess for Dee's trivia is JD aka Jack Sparrow....or PotC. Yo ho yo ho....walk the plank.

Wait! Its BTMRR!!!!!!!!!

It rained yesterday starting shortly after 5pm for a little while. Cleared up soon enough. Currently sitting on the ground at Backlot Tour- all outside attractions closed due to passing thunderstorm.

So sorry to hear about your illness- how scary!!! It is so nice for you to share your experience with us. It sounds like the Beach Club CMs took care of you when you needed it! I have heard several compliments about the service when families have had issues.

I hope that you are enjoying good health now and I'm glad to hear that you have travel plans in the future, even if it isn't a trip back to the Beach Club yet.

Thanks Dee (and others). A bright spot in a dark day

Hello, everyone! Sitting in our room waiting for the latest storm to end so we can head over to Hollywood Studios. My daughter has decided to try Tower of Terror and I am very excited. Cross your fingers that we don't need to leave through the chicken exit!

On a negative note, I had to use the laundry for the first time in three stays here. I have to say I was very frustrated and disappointed. In the one laundry room by the pool, only one washer worked. In the second laundry room, there were two washers and one working dryer. I washed my one load there and took it over to the other laundry room to dry it. An hour in the dryer and everything was still wet. I folded, then carried my wet clothes to the front desk and let them know the condition of their laundry rooms. I was not the first one to complain this morning or this week. People are very frustrated and vocal about it. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside from July 6th-14th and they had very convenient laundry rooms (nothing convenient about having to carry laundry from any of the upper floors at the Beach Club to the very end of the hallway on the first floor) in the buildings and they were big and all equipment was working. They also had machines to purchase soap and softener, which the one laundry room did not have here. Very discouraging for a deluxe, when the moderates are doing a better job. The laundry rooms were also not very clean. Even though I was disappointed in the situation, I found myself defending the Beach Club to many visitors who were upset in the laundry room. They were disappointed in many aspects of the resort, mainly the conditions of the rooms, and it made me sad. I love it here and hope that they do listen to the concerns and correct the problems.

Same boat here...UPS sends our stuff to a facility that handles the town where our mailing address is, only problem is that it is a different town than we actually live :(

The rerouted our delivery and it will be here tomorrow...

I had the same issues with the laundry rooms. On my first date with Sam Adams in the quiet pool laundry room, I lost $2 in coin to a broken washer. I had two loads to do. So I prolonged my date with Sam to do both loads there. On my second date with Sam, we moved to the indoor laundry room with one working dryer for two loads of clean clothes. The room was disgusting! Garbage was all over and food left behind. It did not sour my opinion of the BC at all. Like I've said before, it takes a lot to upset me at WDW....broken laundry rooms, chanting tour groups, constant rain....it all rolls off my back!
