Just got back from WDW yesterday, and IMO one of the best additions since my last visit was the Crush interactive attraction in Epcot's Living Seas. When I read "interactive," I figured there'd be some canned responses (well-done, but still canned!). But it is truly interactive, with the animated character actually talking and joking back and forth with the audience. I can understand that someone was somewhere seeing into the audience and hearing what was being said in order to come up with the repsonses, but the real-time animation was really impressive! (It's almost scary what computers can do these days - I guess that's how they do it.) Little kids get to sit in the front, so he mostly talks to them, and they just loved it! We just walked in and lots of people seemed to bypass it, so just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Ooh, thanks for reminding me! I read about this, but it completely fell out of my head with all the last minute details. We'll have to remember to see this!

I saw the show, Wednesday, and really enjoyed it. I smiled the entire time. Very cute!

I read about this on the boards a while back and I think it was in a testing mode. Is it a open all of the time now?

It is open all the time now. And it is really fun! Very good attraction!

It was funny, the screen kind of froze for a second and Crush said "Wo Dude, I do believe in the Matrix" The best part is, no 2 shows will ever be the same!

Thanks! We'll be checking it out on Sunday :D

I have to agree with OP! It was great! The kids LOVED it. The grown ups loved it! It was alot of fun. Definately a "must do"!

Sounds great. Our family loves Crush! I am glad that there is something new at living seas! How many can view the show at once? Do you think it will have a long wait once it catches on? Hopefully not many people will hear about it in the next few weeks.

I was amazed when this was open over Thanksgiving week!! I had just read about them "testing it" it on the boards & was looking for it luckily.

There were lines when we went, but the show does seat maybe 50 people at a time?? The younger kids are able to sit down front & if the kids will go down let them! This is where Crush will pick the ones to talk to. He actually will ask for that "cute little girl in the pink t shirt with Cinderella on it", to talk to him.

My youngest (6 yrs) DD loved asking him questions. She still talks about when Crush spoke to her about "swimming in the ocean...and remember he asked ME if I could swim??"

My DH & ALL the adults LOVED it and were amazed at what they can do with computers now...it is kind of scary!

We did this last Friday and it was really cool! I can't believe they can make it so interactive. Crush's mouth moved in time with every word he said. The kids in the audience really had a great time. Even as an adult, I loved the show and was sad when it ended.

Does anyone else remember a show like this before. I felt like I was having dejavu? I felt like I saw this show, or one similiar to this before. Has Disney or any other park ever done this before? Who knows, maybe I am crazy but I felt like I had done it before.

I didn't even realize this was being developed. Thanks for pointing it out to us - I'll make sure we catch it in January.

I have told the "kids" ( age 19, 20, 21 ) that there is something new to see at the pavillion, but haven't told them what. Can't wait to see it.

We weren't aware of it either, but discovered it last week when we were there. It's amazing! Crush called on my son to ask a question by saying "that little dude in the white shell" then there's a CM with a microphone in the room that goes to the kid Crush calls on. I can't believe how realistic it is the way the animated Crush's mouth movements and actions go right along with the conversation as if her was real! Don't miss it, kids or no kids!

Believe it or not, I first saw something like this in 1992, at the Consumer Electronic's Show. Nintendo had a virtual mario on a big screen that you could talk to just like this. Of course it wasn't nearly as detailed back then, but it was being controlled by a real person behind the curtain and generated on the fly like this. Back then they had a "headset" that the actor wore to record his jaw movements, but today they can do it automatically just by having the computer listen to the voice.

Can't wait to see this one in person!

Crush sang Happy Birhtday to my DD after he saw her Birthday button. Quite funny!
This was it, sung to the tune of Happy Birthday.

Dude,dude,dude,dude,dude,dude.
Dude, dude,dude,dude,dude dude.
I'm real glad that you hatched.

It sure looks permanent. You sit in a small theater looking at a screen that is set up to seem as though you are looking into an aquarium, just like throughout the rest of the pavillion. (Though Crush talks as though he's looking into a human aquarium :D )

The seating area is not really big - maybe a hundred people plus little kids on the floor in front? As this gets more widely known, it may get very busy, so if you can, see it soon!

It really was fabulous! We went twice over Thanksgiving and both my DS,5, and I got to talk to Crush! I was so excited! This was one of the few attractions that had my Ds, 16, laughing out loud....teens are too cool for that ya know ;)
