We only had time for England and Canada when we went to Epcot.
I have read and heard that there are characters in some of the countries and great places to eat with fun entertainment....
............WHAT AND WHERE ARE THEY?????

Check out Steve Soar's website for info on characters and live entertainment at Epcot.

The ones we saw were Aladdin and Jasmine in Morrocco, and Eyore in England with Pooh sometimes. Supposely you can see more while there on holidays but we have never seen any besides these ones.

WDW and the :wizard: hopefulls for Feb.2007 or March

When we went in 2004 during the Funai Classic we say Jiminy Cricket in England. I am not big into character photos but a friend who is was so upset we didn't get DS's picture done with him. She said he is rarely out in the parks. We've also seen Princess Aurora in the French pavillion.

We saw Pinocchio and Gepetto near Germany, Belle in France and Princess Aurora near the International Gateway. Throughout the countries there are large Mickey glove signs, that indicates a character spot.

Live entertainment not to be missed include Off Kilter (Scots/Irish/Nova Scotia folk tunes turned into rock songs - loud but great), The British Invasion (UK, a decent Beatles cover band suffering just a bit from poor sound equipment), Mo'Rockin ("Off Kilter" in Arabic and with belly dancing) and the acrobats in China. There is much more though. Great places to eat are almost in each country - but if you don't know about the restaurants, you'd probably miss them. That's where planning makes a huge difference. Characters are also in several countries. Check the link someone posted earlier in this thread for times.

We went for years and never saw characters! What idiots! ;)

Now we've seen Snow White in Germany,Belle, Beast, and Aurora in France, Aladdin, Genie, and Jasmine in Morroco, (Maybe Jafar there, too), Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger, Piglet, and Mary Poppins in UK, Mulan in China.

As for entertainment, we love the Japanese drums, and waiter show in France, and Chinese acrobats, and we MUST see the World Showcase Players in UK or our visit isn't complete! You didn't ask, but we also must get SchoolBread in Norway....... be sure you have a lot of room or else share with someone!

I have seen Genie from Aladin in Morroco, just head to the lasts stores keep walking thruogh the pavillion an you would find Alladin characters.I always find one of the most difficults to see (at least for me ) near Mexico just on the paths outside ....who? the cranky duck...jajajaja...Donald!!!but look everywhere I remember Goofy near Test Track,ah! and on this one too...look for the Dummies!! funny and lots more... :yay:

We saw Genie in Morracco, Belle and Beast in France, Cinderella and Geppetto also , Jafar was strolling around near Morrocco also.

Don't miss out on on one of the best parts of WDW...World Showcase. Next time you visit take the time to see the things that have been mentioned in previous posts and on other websites. Walk in, around, and thru(esp. Morocco and the UK) each country and appreciate all the details. Find the counter service in each country and get something to snack on and share it...do this all around the WS. Go into the shops, try the beer or wine...This is DH's and my favorite part of WDW. There is so much to see and enjoy and the Table Service restaurants are wonderful. If you go during the Food and Wine Fest., you can visit all the little booths around WS and try the drinks and food from other countries(not just ones that have pavilions there) in smaller quantites for any where from about $1 to $4-$5.

WOW! Thanks everyone! Boy, we sure did miss a LOT of great stuff in the World showcase. On our next trip we are going for 12 days, and will definitely be making time for 2 1/2 days in Epcot!

:thumbsup2

Saw Alice dancing up a storm with kids in the back of UK, while The British Invasion was playing!
Seen Snow White, Prince Charming, The wicked queen, and ALL 7 DWARFS at Germany!

Most of all our character sightings have been in Epcot!

Be sure to look for the Characters on Holiday bus that goes through the World Showcase too! :Pinkbounc It is loaded with all the characters. It seems like we saw it @ 3:00 last time we were there. It is probably listed in the park schedule, but I do not remember for sure.

There is so much to see in the world showcase, it's overwhelming. Put it this way - a couple of years ago, DH and I spent 19 hours in Epcot (it was New Year's Eve). We knocked out future world early and spent probably 17 of those hours in the world showcase. We STILL haven't seen it all!

Take the time to walk back into the pavilions and really explore. You'll be amazed.

Sorry, it doesn't go anymore. Theres a new Character Connection spot in Future world to meet the charcaters-its a pity, the bus was great fun when they all did their dance on the top deck.

That is so sad Hobbes. Thanks for posting that. My DS loved the bus:-( I didn't see it during our trip this past September but DS wasn't with us so we weren't looking for it. He's already asked about it for this trip.

I also wanted to add we love the boat rides in Mexico, El Rio del Tiempo and Maelstrom in Norway. They are so cute.

Be sure to see Illuminations Reflections of earth. My favourite fireworks display.

I think some must sees at Epcot are the chinese Acrobats and the bakery in Norway. I love the acrobats, everytime I go I have to watch them. They are adorable! The bakery in Norway is my favorite. The waffle and pretzels are delicious

Agree that the Chinese acrobats are amazing! My then six year old son was mesmerized.

Going in the pyramid in Mexico is really cool, too. It's like a cool, stormy evening. Occassional thunder & lightning (and did I mention cool, lol?)

The little boat ride is similar to It's a Small World (which bored my 2 boys but was a treat for my 4 year old daughter).

We only made it about half way around the WS last time and it is high on my MUST DO list for the next trip.

Have fun!
