Don't Mind the Blurry Pics * Finished 10/19/06

We checked in early again. But we wanted to get drinks at Victoria Falls.

That did not happen. Again we barely sit down and our beeper was going off.
DSCN1375.jpg

The carrot ginger soup was amasing!

For my drink I got a Cape Algulhas. It was really good.
DSCN1377.jpg

Eric got two Coronas.
Time for Desserts:

DSCN1382.jpg

The zebra domes were good. I got a few of them to make sure though. The fruit tarts were good also. Well the strawberry one was funny, but that's how all the strawberries have been all week. The other tarts were good. Cost of drinks were $21.17 and the dinners were $52.30.

We headed back to Pop Century after dinner.

I purchased some gifts, 3 picture frames. One for Eric's gramma, one for my mom and one for my sister, $38.08.

Eric ordered more Coronas, $9.59. And I got a Lava Lamp, it was $7.19.
DSCN1384.jpg

It did look like a lava lamp, until I started walking to my room with it.

We watched Illuminations for Pop Century.

Ok I still have the very last day to post. It won't take me very long. And then I will post some things that I have thought about while typing up this trip report.

We had received our ME pick up time the day before. It was for 12:15 pm. I asked Eric if he wanted to order breakfast or lunch that day. He said lunch.

Anyways, we wake up and take one last stroll around the resort.

The view of Epcot from our building.

It was about 11:15 when we got to the food court. I thought they started serving lunch at 11:00. I was wrong. Not until 11:30. Great. So we hung out for a bit, then got inline at 11:30. Eric was through his line in no time. He ordered a chili cheese dog and a cheesecake. It took me 15 min just to get through my line, and there was only about 5 people in front of me. I was really stressing! I got the parm crusted chicken and a twinkie tiramisu. Sorry, no pictures, we were in too much of a hurry. The total came to $28.64 (inlcuding drinks). Eric said his hot dog was good. My parm crusted chicken was good, but really crusty... I think it left little cuts on my pallate (sp). We ate in a hurry and ran back to the room to get our bags and be at the ME bus stop.

Anyways, we got there before the bus, I think the bus was 10 min late actually. It was just a Mears bus, not a ME bus, so no video. The ride to the airport was uneventful. I got really scared while we were waiting in line to check in though. My carryon was filled with Mr. Potatohead parts. It weighed a ton. And the weight for any item couldn't be over 50 lbs without an extra charge. It could have been 50 lbs. It was really heavy. I had specifically asked for window seats this time, because of what may happen. Both Eric and I weren't feeling well on the last trip. Anyways, I ate my Tiramisu before we entered the security check point. I tried to wear the Jack Skellington hat through the metal detector, but appearently there was too much metal in it. Anyways, we got to our gate. I asked them if I could gate check my bag because I didn't want to lift it. They said it wouldn't be a problem. Well we sit and wait and wait and wait.... Then they announce that our plane is moving gates, no big deal. So we go over to the gate they say, and they say its for another flight.. It said that it was for a different flight up until a half hour before departure. Anyways, Eric went and got a drink, I wanted water or pop or tea, but he came back with a strawberry smoothy... it was gross, I thought. Total was $4.25.
DSCN1397.jpg

We were finally able to board and I told them I wanted to gate check my bag there and they started to give me a hard time (not the same people that told me I could before). Finally someone else came over and said it was ok for me to gate check it, so I did. They asked if we had a layover and I was like yeah and they marked it down and what not. I asked if I had to pick it up when we landed and they said get it at the carousel in our final desintation. I was confused. Every time I have gate checked before, I picked up my bag/bags as soon as we landed in the next city. Never did it transfer before, oh well. Anyways...

We take off. Every time I fly out of MCO I wish that we fly over WDW, but since it's north of WDW, it unlikely. Either way, here are some pics from the air.

DSCN1400.jpg

I don't know how well you can see it, but yes that is WDW down there. I was so excited! WHOO HOO WHOO HOO! HAHA

DSCN1401.jpg

Anyways, we landed in Buffalo and Eric's entire family was there waiting for us. Eric would have walked right past them too!

Anyways.. there you be.... my 2006 WDW trip with Eric!

Through planning, the trip, and typing this up a few things have crossed my mind that I'd like to add. I may add more later, since they might have slipped my mind for right now.

On one of the "shoe" threads or something, I remember someone saying they took a pain killer in the morning and at lunch to help keep their legs and feet from getting sore. I did this this trip. It made a HUGE difference. I suggest everyone do this.

For me, prepare for two drinks a day. Though I probably will never drink that much, I need at least that much money for drinks.

Never again will I buy all the parts to something, anything (like Mr. Potatohead) all at once!

I tried to comment to parents on how well behaved their children were and I tried to congradulate (sp) everyone I saw wearing a button or bride & groom Mickey/Minnie hats.

In future trips I probably won't buy gifts for people. This may change if I have a job, but currently I don't have a job and I spent a lot of money that I should have saved since I have no income.

Through typing this, you guys have made me feel really good about what I did. I was not planning on going to WDW for a very long time. But you guys made me really excited about what I did, and now I want to go again, NEXT YEAR!

Even though we saved so much money from getting free dining, I don't think I will ever book a trip during that time of year again. I will stick to December and January from now on. I think that going from the extreme hot to the very cold was not good, especially for Eric.

I will deeply consider asking my doctor for a benzo (anti-anxiety drug) for the airplane rides. Never have I felt so horrible on airplanes.

I will also take the time, possibly buy more/bigger memory cards to record some of the shows such as Lights, Motors, Action. Or I may just bring my video camera since I will be carrying a large backpack with me.

I will also take the time to stop and watch the shows around the World in Epcot. They are amasing!

I have decided, that I want to go to Disney World again, next year. I'm planning for December. Eric doesn't want to go. But I am committed in making him go again (he wants to go somewhere else). I do think I have talked him into going, though. This trip for next year will only happen under two conditions: 1) I get a job -- no job, no money to pay; and 2) I lose X amount of lbs by September (when we book; I have yet to decide what the magic number is, but it will be around 1 lb a week). If I do not achieve either of those, there will be no trip.

Eric said he wants to do the dining plan again. He didn't want to go if we didn't do it. I have also decided we will book a Fantasmic Dinner Package so we can hopefully get seats for Fantasmic in hopes we will not have to stand.

I have over a year to decide what restaurants we will eat at next trip. I have decided to stick with 'Ohana and Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I do not think that I will do EMH days again during a low travel season. We found them to be not needed and had plenty of time to see everything, sometimes even more than once. The only one I would consider would be Epcot because it has so much to offer (I know many people say do Epcot in two days).

Since this is now the Year of A Million Wishes, my wish is to go again with Eric and have him really experience the Disney Magic. And I do not expect any prizes or anything from the Dream/Wishes Squad. I just want Eric to be able to enjoy it and love it and see what Disney has to offer without being sick all the time.

Again, everyone, I thank you all for your kind comments and reading/seeing my trip.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I loved loved loved your pics, commentary, and happiness in the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!

:0)
:wizard:

thank you for all the great reports and photos ....especially the food .....and the shots from the air were awesome.......
You have done good with this all.......we are planning ahead and in the future...only way to do it.

Thanks again

I just want to say, to anyone who reads this:

Usually when I'm planning a future trip and a discount code is released for the time frame I plan to travel in (the year before of course) I call and price it out and get an idea of what a discount code will cost us (I know that there are a lot of factors that can change over the year, but its just an idea). Anyways I called Disney to price one of the codes they have out for December (assuming there is no availiblity because its almost over). Normal as always for me, 6 nights Pop Century, 4 day base ticket. Well he asked me if I had ever considered staying at the Coronado Springs and I said I would love to but it is out of our budget. He said that once in a while when dates are flexible that something will pop up with a more expensive resort offering a rate cheaper than normal. Its a one time deal and doesn't happen often. And we had gotten one for Coronado Springs for $980 or something around there. Dining could not be added.

I just thought I'd like to throw it out there.

Thanks for taking the time to post your report and pictures. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures, I felt like I was "wandering around the World" with you guys. Anyway, I have my fingers crossed that you guys can go on your trip next year! :goodvibes pixiedust:

Another thing I forgot to add... in future trips I will make sure to take advantage of the PhotoPass more often. I think if you have enough pictures its a good deal and you can pick the pictures you want.

When we were there, they were testing Photopass with some of the ride photos. If this passes on to all the rides that take pictures, it would be amazing to incorporate those pics into our package.

I've said it before and I'll say it again..I really enjoyed your report :thumbsup2! So yes please go again next year and report it. Bring Eric also if you can, because if he gets addicted like us well it's really nice isn't it :goodvibes ! The Coronado Springs you say? I can't leave the Pop, unless it's for the Beach Club! I think I'd like to try someplace else for a few days actually, but we really do love the Pop and the feel about the place. Although that can also be that that is the only place we have stayed, and now we are hooked. But yeah we love it. To bad you can't add the dining plan to the CS ressie, why is that? That's wierd, but if you get it for 6 nights during Dec 07 including 4 day MWY tickets, well then I do believe that is a good deal so good for you then!

Good luck on the job search :thumbsup2 I'm sure you'l do fine! Losing weight before Disney? Good for you but if it's difficult I'd still go..you only live once right!

I really want Eric to become addicted. Well, I really just want him to enjoy it for what it really is. I guess as soon as you do that you are addicted though.

I really want to stay at the Beach Club. But there is no way I can afford that, unless Eric or I magically begin to make over $75,000 a year. I love the value resorts. I have visited many of the deluxe resorts and its a different feeling to me. I have not stayed in any, just visited. But I love walking around the values and hearing all the families laughing and playing in the pool and all sorts of stuff like that. When I have been at deluxes, they are much more quiet. Just isn't "Disney" to me.

As for why they couldn't add the dining plan, I don't know. The CM put me on hold and came back and said he just couldn't do it. Oh well, we weren't going this December anyways (no way in hizzy could I afford it)!

About the weight.. yeah I would probably go to Disney no matter what, if I lost the weight or not... but shhhhh don't tell my subconscious (sp) that, I'm using it as a motivator.

Here are some more pics of stuff that I bought while in WDW.

I will also take pics of the stuff I bought for everyone. The teas for my sister, the cup for my brother, the picture frames I got my mom and sister, and all the potatohead parts.

All the time I think, with all the picture threads and even one good one going right now about sharing your Disney shopping lists, I think it would be great if we took and posted pictures of our souvies. The hats and the plush and the watches, what have you. The different resort refill mugs, I love it all  ! Yes, post your stuff! I can't wait to get to Disney and although my new and improved shopping list is mostly a dream, I'm going to get a few cool things just for me :goodvibes . Thanks!

Also I agree with all you said about the resorts. I didn't want to stay at the Pop at first, but it was new and what we could afford. I must have been crazy at the time because I didn't like the look of it from the pictures, although my BF loved it. He thought it was brilliant, and the very second I got there, I was in love with the place! I loved the walk in the mornings, all tired with all the other tired happy souls going to fill our mugs and perhaps get some food. The kids, everywhere :goodvibes ! When we get to the room, I unpack a bag of snacks we got at Publix beforehand onto the table. Yes set it up real nice like and from then on call it the concierge buffet :lmao:! We have fun in the World! Although before I get flamed, I know all the deluxers do too :wave2:!
