Don't lose hope for Le Celier

Just got back Saturday and wanted to share my story. My kids REALLY wanted ADR's for Le Celier and even though I tried I could not get them. I even tried when I got down there but nothing was available. Our last day for reservations was Friday and we had reservations for breakfast at Kona. DH decided not to use our DDP and just pay OOP so we would still have one TS for each of us (6). Now, we decided we were going to Epcot and now we had to decide where we were going to have dinner. It was definitely more crowded than usual this year. We were at Soarin' and DH decided to ask if there was anything available at the rotating restaurant there (can't remember the name right now). The CM at the podium was very helpful and checked but said that it would be almost impossible for us to get a walk-up for 6. She checked online and couldn't find anything and said we could check back and see if they could accommodate us. We spent the afternoon doing Test Track and went back to Soarin' for a while. My DS's decided they wanted to go on Mission Space but DH wasn't feeling up to it. The kids and I stayed at MS while DH decided to take a walk. No line at MS so we walked right on. Waiting to board DH called and said that Le Celier could take us if we could get over there right away. Not sure if the kids are hungry yet and ready to get on the ride I tell DH I'll call him back. Luckily the kids were hungry so we made a bee line for Canada and checked in. They told us we'd have to wait 45 minutes. NO PROBLEM. WE only had to wait for about 10 minutes before we got seated. OUTSTANDING!!! Could not believe it. Had a great waitress - Kimberly. We asked about the upcoming change to a Signature restaurant and they are unsure if it's going to work. They are going to have a dress code and everything. She said they would rather have people come in more casual. We even asked if they would bring back beaver tails and Kimberly (she wasn't there when they had them) actually thought we were talking about REAL beaver tails. We laughed and put her straight.

Sorry this is so long. Just wanted to share our story so you all know there is still hope. Chat up the CM at the podium and you may have the same luck we had. On a side note - Via Napoli was easy to walk up and get seated right away. Pizza is fabulous. Calamari was a little chewy. Ribbon pasta dish was great. Chicken Parmesan was dry (baked). Tiramisu was to die for!!! Zeppoli's weren't too bad either.

How awesome is that! Back in May there were a few couples in line that werer able to get walk up ressies at Le Cellier. You just never know until you try.

The Disney signature dress code is still pretty casual. If you're not a guy in a tank top and you're not wearing a swimsuit, you can go in your park clothes.

Good for you! This was a great way for me start my morning- a cupf Kona coffee and a dose of Disney magic!

Hi cart-mom,
Great story! :thumbsup2 Glad to hear you enjoyed it. It gives me hope that someday I will eat there too. :yay:

The day we ate lunch at Le Cellier (August 31st), we were there from 1:15 to about 2:30 and there were several tables in view of us that had no one seated at them. Also, I read later here on DIS that someone else had gotten a lunch reservation that day, and that the CM outside Le Cellier was commenting about how empty the place was.

We've tried many times to get in and just haven't had the best of luck. I wanted to get in before it goes signature and requires two dining plan meals. I'm not real keen on someone telling me how to dress to go to a restraunt. Not that I don't mind that, but I don't want to dress up on vacation! :) With that being said...if a polo shirt and cargo shorts will work, then I'm in.

Glad you got into Le Cellieur, we have reservations for 4, but need for 8, so hoping they will be able to do a walk in for the other 4 when we go there in December. Im curious though when you said a rotating restaurant, I never heard of that at Disney. Anyone know the name of it, curiosity is killing the cat, lol.

The Garden Grill is the one that rotates.

We've alwats loved Le Cellier. We've actually had Kimberly before. GREAT waitress. :goodvibes

If I don't get an early lunch reservation before our trip, I'm going to try and walk up with Dh and DD :). Hopefully we'll get lucky. It's pretty funny, though. I have changed my reservations so much that I actually had Le Cellier for lunch and dinner booked a couple of different times and cancelled them...lol.

ok folks, name calling is not appropriate

OP, I am glad that you were able to get in, that is awesome!

awesome!!!
we are hoping for some of the same magic on our trip next!!!
we are having no luck on many of the planning aspects on this trip!!
thanks for the positive story.
