Don't laugh...but these are some shoes I found

If the gown was custom made for you, then whoever made it messed up when they made it too long. Shouldn't they be responsible for fixing it at no additional charge?

Like I said in other posts, it was made in Canada. I had absolutely no contact with the dress maker. I took my own measurements and obviously did the length incorrectly. Because I took the length incorrectly she is in no way responsible. I have no desire to have the dress remade and there's no way I'm going to Canada just to do that. The dress is very detailed and has a specific design. It took her 4 months to make the first one so I won't be waiting another 4 for a second one. I love the dress, she did a wonderful job, and I would highly reccommend her.

I just thought of something that might help-

If you can get a larger crinoline, it would help the dress up off the floor enough that you may be able to get lower heels.

I'm sure your dress is gorgeous so where's the picture of you in it!! (O:

I love them! I think they are cute and I would be much more comfortable in those than heels. I would just practice with them. Good Luck!

I've worn shoes like that a ton of times and while they are high they really are more comfy and easier to manage than stillettos! that is just my opinion I think they are cute and you will be fine if you practice! good luck...oh your dress sounds amazing i too would love to see a picture :goodvibes

I too have worn shoes like that with no problem. The heel itself is does not look that high to me (difference between the toe and heel) They are mostly thick soled, which is not nearly as bad as high heeled. And with the large sole, you are not likely to teeter, each step will land solidly on the ground. Sure, practice in them, but if you wear flip flops, these shouldn't be that different. Hope they work out for you! :goodvibes

I'm far from towering over my DF he's 6'4"

There really is nothing that can be done. The dress was custom made just for me in Canada. I'm stuck and I can't wear heels. I've taken it to 3 seamstresses the last one that won't touch it is the best in town and charges nearly double the cost of everyone else. She told me that I'd better find some high shoes b/c that's all that can be done.

Just curious did you provide your hem to hollow measurement?

I like those shoes! I agree also you should practice walking in them lots and with your slip on. Thats what bugged me the most was my slip ..it was med full and I still tripped(but caught myself :rotfl2: ) on it wearing flat slippers going up the GF stairs. Best of luck!

Firstly, I love the shoes. I routinely wear two-to-three inch wedge platforms and have very little problem walking in them. It took me a day or two to adjust to them when I started wearing them, but after a while walking became natural. Just practice walking in them for a few weeks and you should be fine.

Secondly, as a seamstress myself, you have piqued my curiosity about this dress which cannot be altered. Do you have a picture?
