Hi,

I must be thinking too much. I am having nagging thoughts that we won't be happy there. ?? Am I crazy? Please make me feel better please. I know you guys can cheer me up!

Are you going soon or is it the trip you have in 300 days?

Vero is different than WDW. It is a wonderful fun beach resort. Of course, like anything, some folks will enjoy it more than others. I absolutely love it. I think you should go ahead and give it a try. I don't think you'll hate it and there's a good chance you'll be thrilled by the resort.

I also wouldn't obsess about it. There isn't that much to "plan" for a Vero stay (like worryin about PS, E-nights, etc for a WDW trip). It's good to have some background and ideas of places to go etc., but part of the beauty is being able to relax and enjoy.

HI Tinkgrl,

I have never been there, but friends rented there (not DVC members), and had a wonderful time. They were really impressed with it. They are in their early 30's with no children.

What could hurt, you go for a short trip, you decide if you like it, and if you want to go back. That's the beauty of DVC....flexibility and options.

Wish I was going to WDW as soon as you are...it's March for me:(

Have a great trip to VBpirate:

Just a biased opinion here.Relax you will love it!
Based on your sig,you like pirates.Arghh Matey You will be right in the middle of the Treasure Coast with gold, diamonds and jewels galore.Buried Treasure to be found me Lass. If you listen close on a calm moonlit night,. you may hear the ghosts of the 1715 Treasure Fleet sailing up the Coast in their fleet of ghost galleons trying to find their way home. ;)

I think you'll love it.

Great pool, great beach, great restaurants. You can relax in the Green Cabin Room and have lunch while you look at the ocean.

They have all kinds of activities throughout the day. There are many things to do in the area.

You can do as much or as little as you want and still have fun. At least try it for a night. It's awesome.

They have slide races for the adults too! My husband got 1st on the first day there and 2nd on the 3rd day. All the adults were high fiving in the middle of the pool. You can take advantage of the members free putt-putt day on Wednesday. They have tennis courts, basketball, and a beautiful lawn infront of the Inn to play batchi ball or croquet. You can borrow all kinds of sports equipment from Eb and Flo's. I didn't like it either the first time we went. I don't like sand and scan't tand the way my skin feels in the salt water. I love to go down to the pool about 7:30-8:00 a.m. and scope out a chair in the sun and a chair in the shade. This summer we had 4 inn rooms with a mixture of people types, one liked to rent beach chairs and umbrellas, a couple of them did nothing but crafting; when they came home to Indiana people asked "didn't you just spend a week in FLA". They spent the entire week under the gazebo or in the crafting room and got no sun. Vacations are what you make of them. Use your imagination like Walt did.

Have fun!

One of my best vacations was having not enough to do. Just the beach, afternoon naps, sitting on the balcony, by the pool. Got so relaxed that when we started home the traffic scared me silly. And there were only ten cars on the road.

One of my favorite passtimes now at WDW is sitting on a bench watching everyone running, and mama duck.

Just experienced our first SSR/VB trip and it was very relaxing and much needed after 12 days at WDW. Kids had a blast! The only negative I have to mention is after checking out of VB we stopped in Destin to see friends and the beach at Vero is no where in the same league as the white beaches at Destin, IMHO

I have a few VB questions that I'm hoping someone can answer:

-Is the beach within walking distance (as opposed to HHI where you have to take a shuttle)?
-Are there umbrellas and chairs available for rent at the beach?
-Are there many restaurants in the area?
-Is there a grocery store nearby?
-What airport is closest?

Thanks!

-Is the beach within walking distance (as opposed to HHI where you have to take a shuttle)?
The Resort is built on the oceanfront. No long hikes or shuttles needed.

-Are there umbrellas and chairs available for rent at the beach?
I did see rentals of jet skis, boards, etc. Not sure about chairs and umbrellas though.

-Are there many restaurants in the area?
Yes, many great restaurants. If you have a car you can drive in either direction along the road the Resort is on and find many. At the check-in desk they have a booklet filled with menus from local restaurants to help you decide what to try. If you love seafood especially then VB is terrific. The Ocean Grill was great and right on the water.

-Is there a grocery store nearby?
There is a Publix not far from the Resort. CM's can give you directions.

-What airport is closest?
I flew into Melbourne. It's a nice, small airport. Others prefer to drive from Orlando, a bit further out.

Thanks for the quick reply! If anyone knows about the umbrellas and chairs that would be great.

Umbrellas and lounge chairs are available to rent at the beach. We rented a set everyday. WONDERFUL way to spend the day! We paid $27 plus tax for the two chairs and umbrella. They don't start renting until 9 am

Vero is beautiful! You will not be disappointed.
Eat lunch at Shutters but have dinner in Vero. There are many great restaurants. Our favorite is the Ocean Grill just off A1A on the beach in Vero. Enjoy!

Btw, to the original post -

I think you will find Vero a wonderful and relaxing place to visit! We are so glad we went! The planned activities are great, the extras (like waverunners) are so fun, and the relaxing is so easy - and what a beautiful place to do it all!

We are ready to go back - and we just left yesterday!

Madcoco,

You're quite welcome. Enjoy your time there.
