Don't know where to start, frustrated Windows 8 stupidity

So as my title states I'm having issues. More mental anguish. Anyways, we had to buy a new computer. On this computer comes Windows 8 which looks really neat but doesn't work the conventional way we've ben trained. I looked at the start up screen and thought big phone.

New computer = old one is dead. Final. Finito. I realized that some name fills and Mickey pirate heads I had done many years ago were on that computer. Had I ever backed them up? No. Also on that computer were letters, invites, autograph pages etc....

So I go and find a few new things for the Christmas present the kids are receiving. Unpersonalized magnet disigns, unpersonalized t-shirt ideas etc. Now I CAN NOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out how to get my printer settings to come up so that I can print photo quality and mirror image!!!!

SOOOOO....anyone working on Windows 8 yet?

Have you synched the computer to the printer?
Once the printer shows up, go to advanced settings or preferences and click on the tabs until you find what you need.
If it's too much bother, load the images in Word and print from there.
I downloaded IE 8 a few day ago and it took geting used to-still don't love it but it's ok.
Also, you could download gimp which is great free photo editing software and work with that:

Not sure what you're asking but if you're looking for the control panel hover the mouse in the lower left corner of your screen and right click. A bunch of options, including the control panel come up.

I've had Windows 8 for about 10 days now. I could see it being great if I had a touch screen but for a regular old desktop I find myself using the desktop more than the start screen. At least when possible. The start screen doesn't bother me, just a lot of stuff I don't use. Need to learn how to customize it.

Oh and get yourself a large capacity thumb drive and back your stuff up there. It's what I do at least once a month.

Thanks for the tips. It recognized my printer as soon as I plugged it in. I found settings and still can't find print quality and mirror image LOL

Finally FINALLY got my printer to install correctly!!!! Also managed to get my music off my iPod too lol. Thank you!!!!!!!!
