I've never been to LeCellier, and was hoping to try it after hearing good things about it on here. Well, I waited too long to make my ADR's, and the only times I could get were either 4:20 or 8:50. Then I read a bunch of horrible reviews on it. Now I don't know what to do. I really don't know who to believe about LeCellier. Should I just skip it this time, or try it for lunch?

I'd take the 4pm one. It's all about your own taste. Everyone is going to have a different opinion. For example: some love Boma and think its the best but my family and friends that have been there all think it's the worse meal at WDW. We really liked LeCellier, Yummy Cheese Soup too. You'll never know until you try it for yourself. Whatever you decide "Enjoy" :)

If you like steakhouses and eat out at them often, then I say go for it. The steaks at Le Cellier are supposed to be pretty good, and many, many DISers think Le Cellier is wonderful.

We personally have no desire to eat there, because we don't ever go to steakhouses at home and don't care for steak when we eat out. It's just a personal taste issue- we would much rather go to Marrakesh, Teppenyaki, or Spoodles at the BW than Le Cellier, because we prefer more adventurous fare than steak.

Le Cellier is good. If you have an ADR for it, keep it. It books up fast. You can always cancel if you change your mind.

We have eaten at LeCellier our last 2 trips, the last this past June.

We always take the 4pm ADR. its when the restaurant opens, and you get seated right away and get right in and out.

Our meals both times were excellent.

I would do it - at the early time. We like it but it can get overhyped on these boards. People go with too high expectations and are disappointed. It has good food, the breadsticks are unusual and we have always had a good experience. We ate there last Dec. and we had a great time but the table next to us had some trouble. They just couldn't seem to get their steaks prepared correctly (and from what I could tell it wasn't the diners being overly fussy). So it's not a perfect place but I would go back.

I would say try it and earlier would be better (to me). I do think its over-hyped. I've been to Le Cellier 4 times, had 1 great meal but a table that was in a location near the door and it was freezing and we really needed a chance to warm-up, 1 meal where poor service made it not enjoyable, and 2 meals that were just ok. Its off my must-do list but I would give it another try if available at a time good for me.

Don't let the negative reviews on these boards keep you from trying it. If you read them too often, you'll talk yourself out of EVERYPLACE, because all Disney restaurants seem to get bad reviews now and again. I myself would never have tried several places that my family now LOVES if I had listened to all of these comments.

The only one who knows for sure if you'll like the place is you. If the menu is appealing to you, I say try it.

For what it's worth, I really enjoyed my dinner at Le Cellier last December (first and only time I've eaten there).

Thanks so much for all the helpful advice. I'm feeling much better about it. :thanks:

I've always wanted to eat at Le Cellier. During our trip in January, we were walking thru Canada about 11:30. Walked up to the hostess and were seated within 10 minutes w/o ADR. It was a great lunch. One of the best hamburgers I have ever had anywhere. My parents are beef farmers so we are quite picky about our meat, but this was delicious. Cheese soup was good, but a little overly salted for my taste. Le Cellier is the most popular restaurant in all of WDW. It wouldn't be #1 if it were terrible. I'd go. In my experience, for every good review at a restaurant, there is a negative. Each person's experience is different. It seems that more people complain about the service over the food. So if you have lousy service, you could have a bad meal. I'd go back to Le Cellier in a minute.

Le Cellier was one of the best meals my DH and I have ever had in our LIVES, not just at Disney World. Keep the reservations!

We have been thre twice for lunch and once for dinner and they have always been great! I would for sure go, it is a VERY hard place to get into.

Le Cellier is always the first ADR I make at 180 days out.

I love their tomato stack appetizer, filet with mushroom risotto, and creme brulee. However, this past May I tried their new duck two ways appetizer and think I've found a new favorite. It was wonderful. I'm eating there solo the first night of my Sept trip (Sept 29th) and will be eating there with a group of fellow DISers again in Dec. I can't wait!

Our family is a Le Cellier fan and most recently ate there in January for lunch. I definately think that choosing lunch over a horrible dinner ADR time is a great option. The dinner and lunch menu are similar, so you basically get the same experience. BTW, as someone who was born and raised in Wisconsin and knows her way around a good cheese soup, or anything with cheese in it for that matter, I think the Le Cellier cheese soup is mediocre at best. It is not that flavorful and is waaaay too salty. Many other items on the menu are fantastic though!

Take a lunch ADR or the early dinner reservation. I called 180 days out and got dinner no problem, except now at 90 days out, we are tweaking our plans and Narcoossee has ended up in the Le Cellier spot. There were no more dinner ADRs on the night I requested (10/09), so we took a 2:30 lunch. The wonderfully helpful CM reminded me I can call back daily to see if there have been any cancellations; and as I am a testament to, people do cancel Le Cellier for dinner!!

I'm almost relieved to do lunch, b/c it works well with our Epcot day, and if we pay OOP (probably--it's the 8th TS I booked and that's one more than on our DDP) we can just skip dessert and snack more at the Food and Wine Festival that afternoon. And an OOP lunch is always less than an OOP dinner!:cool1:

We did an 8:50pm Le Cellier ADR on Christmas day last year. It was all that was left period on the day I called to make ADRs...so I took it. I worried a bit about it being way too late to eat dinner pretty much until Christmas-particularly since DS was 5 and I wasn't sure how eating at 9pm would work out. It was actually really great! We took a big long nap on Christmas Day in the afternoon and then made it to EPCOT by around 6pm. We walked around WS looking at the shops, had an adult drink or two...ended up in Canada, watched O Canada! and then went into Le Cellier for our ADR. We were the among the last seatings, so the room started to thin out a bit as we were there-which was nice! We were never rushed in anyway, there were several other parties there too. It was probably one of our favorite evenings.

All of our food was really good, but we didn't get the items that everyone raves about here on the DIS (cheese soup, filet, whiskey cake) DH got prime rib and the shrimp appetizer(I think) I got the pork tenderloin with the timbale as the appetizer(yummmy! Loved the timbale) DS got steak and carrot sticks-he loved it too. We skipped dessert-we were too full. Our server was awesome-one of the best we had at all the restaurants of the trip. I was debating over two wines to order-I don't know much about Canadian Wines...so our server suggested she bring both out for me to do a tasting. I really enjoyed the one I picked.

All in all, really great night after 2 prior nights of disappointing dining experiences(really poor service, food quality not up to the same standards in restaurants we had dinned in before DDP started-we were paying OOP, that changes your view a bit, I think, on the quality of the restaurants.) We were sooo glad that we weren't disappointed with our Christmas Dinner!:)

Definitely do it! We've had lunch and dinner there and I've never had a bad meal. There will be negative reviews for every restaurant - it just depends on what you like.
