Well where to start..... Hmmmm, well I am a 29 year old stay at home mommy that does EVERYTHING and I really do mean EVERYTHING for my family. Here is the line up Me(29) DH
- The most hardworking, loyal, loving, best father and husband any lady could EVER ask for! (32) DD
- Lily is smart, loving and compassionate little lady! (7) DD
-Abby is the craziest, funny, loving little lady that has so much spunk! (5)
My husband and I have been wanting to plan a trip to the happiest place on earth for a very long time now. BUT we always thought it was way out of reach (financially). So we waited and waited and waited.....Then after doing alot of thinking I sat down with my sister(30), who also(me included) has NEVER been to Disneyland and ran some numbers for a hypothetical trip, just to see how much it would cost. Then I thought I would bring it up to my DH to see what his reaction would be. Well, his reaction was much better then I had anticipated. Since the both of us really would like to take our ladies soon since they are nearing the end of the years when they believe!(This was a very important factor for me!)
So since I got a better response I decided to do some more serious research with my sister(since this is going to be a real family vacation now with my sister and her soon to be husband too). We searched and searched for the cheapest way for the 6 of us to fly to California from Seattle, get 2 rental cars, hotel, and go to Disneyland and Seaworld ( I really think my little ladies would just love to go there too).
With all the researching behind us FOR NOW, we had a plan of attack and a pretty good rough estimate to show my DH. So we sat him down and showed him everything. So here it is : We planned the trip from December 25th to December 31st. Since we are doing this for Christmas this is going to be the girls only Christmas present from mommy and daddy. (My DH was happy with not having to buy them any presents, but don't get me wrong Santa is defiantly going to make an appearance at our hotel
) we also purchased the Southern California City Passes which give us 3 day park hopper with 1 magic morning, 1 day at Seaworld and 1 day at Universal Studios. Then we purchased our rental car and our airfare and hotel came in a package deal through Expedia. So since my husband get a nice bonus from work every year we sent the kiddos away for the night and sat down with my sister and brother in-law and had all the itineraries pulled up and ready to purchase. " So are you sure you want to do this babe, they are the right age and we always end up blowing your bonus anyways. We are going to make AMAZING memories with the girls and they STILL BELIEVE!!" So with a great understanding between us we hit the button!!! OMG WE ARE GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!
Did I fail to mention that this purchase took place in MARCH!?!?! This is going to be the longest wait in my life!!! So with that said, I tried to put this whole trip in the back of my mind in hopes that it would fly by. Well for the most part it did(I am not going to lie, I have been doing ALOT of internet research since the purchase but who wouldn't). So here we are 2 months and 10 days till we depart
and I still have lots to plan! Like the tentative budget. Since everything else is paid for I need to figure out meals and souvies and whatever our little hearts desire! We would really like to make this a once in a lifetime experience for our girl. Since we don't know when we might make it back again!
So here is the tentative schedule:
Monday December 24- We fly out of Seattle in the evening So it is strictly for travel and grocery shopping since we will have a kitchen in our hotel.
Tuesday 25th(Christmas)- We will wake up early and open presents from Santa( The time should be no problem since our girls got up at like 3am last year) The park should open at 8am so we are scheduling breakfast with Minnie at 7:10am I believe. Then we will venture into the parks to start or trip!
Wednesday 26th- We are going to Universal Studios to see what they have going on there. I don't have an idea cause I don't know what to expect there at all!
Thursday 27th- Breakfast at hotel then back to Disneyland. We will probably try and get lots of autographs this day.
Friday 28th- Breakfast at the hotel then down to San Diego we head. We will go to Seaworld for most of the day, the check into our hotel down south for the night.Yes we are paying for 2 different hotel rooms on the same night. But his is the only way we could figure it. Then we will have a nice sit down dinner with my DH's brother and wife, my brother and wife+ 2 nephews and a old girlfriend of mine. Might even go out for drinks this night if I feel I have the extra energy
Saturday 29th- This is our only free day! So I think we will take our time checking out of our hotel have breakfast, say good bye to family and head back up to Anaheim. Once back to the hotel we might go swimming or do something relaxing(god knows I'll need it)!!! Then we will probably go to downtown Disney where I hear there is some discount Disney store. Then back to the hotel for a cooked meal in the room!
Sunday 30th- This will be our last day at Disney. We will spend this day doing everything we didn't get a chance to do the last 2 days. Whatever the ladies want to do we'll do it!
Monday 31st(New Years Eve)- Time to pack up and ship out! We will get breakfast at the hotel and take our time leaving. We might stop at some more shops on the way out too. Then we will head back to the Emerald City.
So any helpful advice would be much appreciated. We know that we are going during the busiest time of year, but we are fine with that. Well I hope you enjoyed my mini adventurer getting to this point and I am sure I will write again once we return. Thanks for reading!!!
