We are going to be spending a large chunk of our summer with my mother in Orlando. Most of the time it will be me and DS's 7,6 and 2. My DH will be joining us intermittently. We have only been to Universal and IOA once (2 years ago). We plan on making lots of trips over the summer. So here are the questions.

1. Does Universal offer some sort of Annual Pass? And if so, do they offer a military discount?

2. Is there some sort of Fast pass? I thought I read about a fast pass booklet that you could purchase.

3. What is the FOTL privledge and how does it work?

Thanks for any help that you could provide. I think we are going to book the Nick hotel for 5 days the end of June and then book some other days at the Universal hotels while my DH comes to visit.

Also, what are the Spiderman and Spongebob breakfasts and how far in advance do those need to be booked.

Thanks again.

Yes they do have APs and it is much cheaper than the Disney AP: The price is around $180. They also offer a seasonal pass but the black out dates may fall within your travel time. It is around $120. I don't believe they offer a military discount though.

2. Is there some sort of Fast pass? I thought I read about a fast pass booklet that you could purchase.

They have free express pass machines just like Disney's fast pass. You can also buy express pass plus which gives you one express pass ride for each attraction. They are rather expensive in the summer though.

3. What is the FOTL privledge and how does it work?

FOTL is for guests who stay onsite. They used their hotel card and enter the the express pass lane for all rides and shows.

You can read about the Spiderman Breakfast here:
http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/orlando/website/what_new.html

The Sponge Bob breakfast is at Nickelodeon Hotel not at Universal/IoA. I don't know anything about it. Here is a webpage that explains it: http://www.nickhotel.com/see_hotel_dining.jsp

If you're staying onsite, there is no reason to buy the Extra Express pass booklets, because you're hotel key works as an express pass (so-called fOTL)

And we don't hate anyone with lots of questions. Its always great to help! (and I'm going out of my way mentioning this because I'm getting flamed and being called a troll in a thread on the Community Board for having my own opinion, despite not having said a negative things toward anyone :confused3 )

The community baord is brutal. I've been flamed there many times.

The sad thing, its all vicious Constantine fans upset their "boy" is gone from American Idol while I voted two hours for Scott Savol (in my quest to vote for the worst- which people don't agree with, but tough! last time I checked, we were free to vote for who we want and why we want, this is America, correct?)

Thanks Bev for letting me vent a bit (I could go off even more, but I refuse too, can't believe I was accused of trolling, lol)

Thanks Bev for the post over there- appreciate it!

Thanks guys for the help. I haven't been on the Community Board for awhile so I would like to thank you for the update there as well ;) .

Now I need to know what the best on-site hotel would be for 3 boys, 7,5 and 2. I feel like I know so much about Disney hotels, but have never stayed at UO. Maybe I will post this on the resort board.

Have a great day and thanks for the help. Also, just a friendly reminder. Don't forget your flame proof underwear when you venture you own opinion. :cool1:

Mickey Fliers,
Welcome to the Universal forums. We're a friendly bunch so feel free to ask any other questions you may have. Phamton has already given you what you've asked for but I'm sure you may have some follow-ups. Ask away.

Slacking,

I've been in that AI thread on the Community Board and I've seen all the negativity against you. Can't they read your tags and know you're a nice guy:teeth: You haven't done anything and you've become public enemy #1! You're right, last I checked this was America and you can vote any way you want. (Personally, I'm glad to see Constantine go:) )
This is actually the second AI thread that was opened on the CB. The mods actually had to close the first one. Can you believe this? It's about a TV show for cryin' out loud. I can't believe that at TV show thread got so out of control that they had to close it!

Bev,

When you said that the CB is brutal. I have to agree but it wasn't always like that. It's gotten completely out of control over there. I really think it's been bad since the demise of the Debate Board. Now even the most inane thread on the CB can become a debate. Not cool!

You can't go wrong with any of the on site hotels. Hard Rock and Royal Pacific are more convenient to the parks. It's an easy walk from them. The Portofino is a bit further, but you can take the water taxi. For children the ages you stated, I would say the Royal Pacific may be your best bet. They have a great pool area for young children.
