Just wanted to warn everyone not to go to Sears for their 32" HDTV for under $100 b/c they don't have any in stock and don't plan to get any in stock. They did a members exclusive sale last night and tons of people have had their orders cancelled for the tv. After talking to numerous customer service people, they will not get any in stock. It was an "accident" in advertising.

An accident huh. The ads have been out for at least a week, if it was truly an accident there would have been a retraction. Also, the deal would have never went live online last night. :confused3

Haven't shopped at Sears for a few years now because of this tactic that they use. Mine was for a camera they had advertised for months. Yes, that's right, months! I could have bought several cameras in the meantime on sale waiting for my rain check camera to come in. Ended up buying a camera last minute because I couldn't wait anymore that wasn't on sale.

This happened to my neighbor last year on BF, only with a dishwasher. Neighbor ordered it online at the advertised price, he paid for it on his CC, all seemed to be fine and dandy. Two days later they sent him an email saying his order was canceled and they wouldn't be honoring the price. My neighbor isn't the kind of person who backs down easily--he got a hold of someone at the local store and somehow pretty much coerced them into giving him something equivalent for the same price. But it was a lot of aggravation getting to that point.

Seriously?

I ordered mine right before 6:00 on Sunday night, received my "ready for pick up" email yesterday morning at 10:30 and picked up the TV after work last nght. No problems at all. :confused3

I have no idea how many they have in stock for Friday, but they do exist. I'd hate for someone to miss out on the deal just because your order was canceled.

Can you post the info on this? How were you able to get it online ahead of time?

TIA!

I would think it would depend on each store's inventory. Maybe one store gets 2 TV's and 50 orders, but another store might get 10 and have no orders. :confused3

They started early for people that have some Sears reward (free) card. I read about it on another forum so I went and signed up for the reward card. The other forum was slickdeals.net, if you do a search there, you can find more info...I think it is still going on but I know most of the big deal stuff was sold out.

We were told by a friend who works in management at our store that they expected the member preview demand to exceed their stock of all the big ticket doorbusters, and she's dreading the actual general public rush because so many people will be there for items that are already gone. That's specific to our local store but I doubt ours is the only one in that position.

I also saw the members only sale - I think I saw it on bfads. I was able to get a 39" tv for $199. Free in store pick up. Its an off brand Seiki, so I'm a little nervous, but gosh it was such a good deal.

I have the Sears Reward card and got an email telling me about it.

Black Friday advertising is largely shady. The day itself is ridiculous, IMO. You can get plenty of bargains if you shop right at other times. Im very happy in my state that the stores don't open until after midnight- retail workers deserve time with their loved ones too.

Then, you get the people who get trampled, and the fights that break out. Oh, and Sears sucks. They have terrible customer service.

I was able to get both the 32 and 39 inch TVs. Had an email on both and picked them up yesterday around lunchtime.

We also bought the washer/dryer in the ad from the week before, $1399 down to $597 after discount and additional credit card discount.

We have not shopped Sears for at least 5 years buy have been very happy this season.
