Don't give up! (Quite the phone experience)

We have been calling every couple days to see if we had a pin in our name for a couple months. We have been told no EVERY time, even though we got the Alice pin in December.

So today, we finally decided to just call and switch our reservation from November at POP to August at Poly and suck up the extra cost and hope for general public free dining.

First CM goes through all the changes, gives us our total of $6021.37. We then ask if there is a pin. She says that there was a free dining that expired on Feb 3. I was furious. DH nicely explained how we have been calling every few days and told nothing. We would have changed our booking sooner had we known. We go ahead and finalize our plans and then ask to be transferred to Guest Services.

So we get transferred and explain to the CM at Guest Services what happened. She pulls up our reservation and we discover the last CM did not save our changes. :confused3:scared: Ugh! So we have to go through all of that again. Get that squared away and get onto the supposed free dining pin. She tells us that there are several pins in my name. The Alice pin, there was a free dining pin, and there is a current 20/30/40 good through the rest of the year! :banana: :banana: :banana:

So we booked and our new total is $4855 and we saved almost $1200 :dance3::dance3::dance3:

Just when we had given up and settled that this would be a budget buster trip and we would just eat the extra cost!!!

So, be persistent. I also think that getting a trip priced out with a CM and THEN asking to see if there is a pin attached is a better plan.
 
Its so frustrating that some CMs are so helpful and others could just care less! I had to call a few times to get someone to tell me that the 20/30/40 pin was under my name and had been since Dec. As soon as we found we booked the CR for our vacation, otherwise we would have booked POP and they would have gotten less money, doesnt make any sense why they dont tell people.
 
We called last week and no pin. This makes me think we should keep calling which is a bit frustrating, but also optimistic.
 

Ok... it's a little early for me to soak this all in, but you called and asked if you had a PIN? And they could look it up in the computer?

Shouldn't you have been notified via the mail or email that you had one???

I would have to agree. Before we got the 20/30/40 pin I had called and called about seeing if we had a discount and nothing, then all of the sudden I call again last week and was told that we have had this one since late last year and she wasn't sure why nobody else could look it up. I was also told yesterday that we now have a free dining discount as well that we can add to our current reservation and have both the 40% off and free dining which from reading on here can't be done, but the CM said.
 
You may have wanted to get them to update your address and email information to make sure that when they are sending your PINS out.. you're getting them.

Wow that is an awesome deal you got there. I wonder if ill get that same CM lol
 
You may have wanted to get them to update your address and email information to make sure that when they are sending your PINS out.. you're getting them.

Make sure the spellings are correct, we just found out that MS with DVC had our email address with one letter incorrect. When they read it, it sounds right but when one lady spelled they had a "K" where it should have been a "C":surfweb:
 
I have updated email and address. I got the Alice pin about a month ago. But even when I called to check since then, they kept telling me there was nothing.
 
I had gotten one pin for travel last fall and since I am a teacher, I could not use it :sad1: But thanks to the great DIS boards, I called, gave them that pin number, explained why I couldn't use it and asked if there were any others attached to my name :confused3 And I had the 20/35/45% off room rates pin :yay: but had never received an e-mail about it :confused: Needless to say, I booked right away :tink:

I have since modified my reservation to take advantage of the $500 gift card for the first 5 nights we are staying and still keep the 35% off the room for the last 4 nights we are staying :woohoo:

I've had problems with them getting my pins to me also. I know that they have my correct email address and name spelling because I have gotten pins in my email before, but this last time I called to see if I had a pin and I did have one, but never got information in my email or a postcard in the mail. So, I don't know what the deal is with that??

So it IS possible to get a room discount with free dining...

How do they assign PINS? Do I just call, tell them who I am, ask if I have a PIN and then ask for free dining? We want to plan for November; do any of you experts think this combination will be possible for the week after Thanksgiving/first week of Dec? Thanks!
 
I gave this a shot last. Still no pin. Oh well, at least we are booked now.
 
Yesterday was the most frustrating day I have ever had dealing with making Disney reservations. Does anyone know for sure if the discount on Villas is 45% or not???

I had previously booked a standard room at AKL for November with the pin number I recieved in email getting a 40% discount .....all was well until my son and his wife decided they wanted to go too, so I called yesterday morning to check like the email stated to ask about the discount on villas and was told it was 45%. I said thank you, that I needed to call back once I was positive about the room change.

Ok, a couple of hours later checking with my son that they were sure they wanted to go, I called back, now I had after calling the first time yesterday looked online and found the 1 bdrm value villa rack rate 460 did all the math and with the 45 % discount found it to be adventagious for us to book the villa , the CM I got this time said there were no value villa available but he had studio and the reg 1 bdrm in both Jambo and the new section of AKL, but the rates he was telling me were quite a bit higher than what the value villa would have come to, now as I am on the phone my ex who happens to be going down with me , is in my ear saying have him check the wilderness or etc etc so I tell the CM I will need to call back later.

After getting off the phone and talking with all we decide to go ahead with the 1 bdrm villa in Jambo house the CM had quoted me with a discounted price of 315 a nite.

I take a deep breath and call again I no sooner finally after doing all the various promts involved when you call for reservation and hear the CM pick up .......you guessed it ......I disconected !!!

At this point I picked up started to dial and as I heard the recording ask where are you calling about florida or california, I hung up I was too agitated to talk right now and proceeded to go out to the store.

About 3 hours later home once more I again pulled up online the 1 bdrm value villa @ $460 a nite, so I save the offer as I was doing this the chat window pops up to talk to a CM , ok so I start typing my dilemma to the CM who tells me she can not change my ressie online I need to call but gives me a different phone # , ok I think I am getting somewhere at least

Wrong LOL .......I dial and hear the old familar prompts once more, finally a CM comes online and I go through my speech again of what I want to do and she tells me there is no such thing as a 1 bdrm value villa, now I tell her I have right infront of me on there online site , guess what all of a sudden she says I have one for November etc etc ( low and behold the dates I need) LOL so she gives me the per nite rate and total it was a bit diffferent than what I had figured out with the 45% discount so I ask her , "this is with the 45% Discount?" and the CM says Yes, so I book it, thinking my Disney Math was wrong , add my son and his wife to the ressie and ask about the additional deposit , the CM says no that is not needed and we end the call. Maybe about 10 minutes pass and the confirmation email arrives .....guess what it states i need to pay an additional amount LOL


I call back pay the additional amount , never spoke to a human it was all computerized.......still have not recieved a confirmation of my additional payment and I doubled checked the discount today and found I only recieved 40% off the rate not the 45% the CM said I would get


Debateing about calling back or waiting till I get to the resort and then ask, I have this terrible fear if I call back some how my room will get lost trying to get the additional discount and its really not a big difference ...... who knows maybe in the value villa the discount is only 40% and not 45%......anyone out there happen to know ???

When I call, they ALWAYS say, "I see you have called about discounts before". How scary is that?

Thankfully my dates are inside the extension of the %off GP deal. I don't have to call anymore and have them tell me how many times I've called in the past.
