Don't give up on waitlists - Pixie Dust happens!

It has been a good year for waitlists for me. First, I got three nights at GCV in a studio in early November; so happy about this, it was a small miracle. Then last week my waitlist for four nights in a studio at Saratoga in mid-October Friday to Tuesday!!!!! I could not believe it. I thought we would have to skip Food & Wine this year because I was so late looking for reservations. Yay, I was wrong!!

So don't give up, you may get Pixie dusted too!!

Yes, I learned that the hard way! I had waitlisted for a 1 BR at BCV to surprise DH for the F&W festival. At 31 days, still nothing, so I broke the surprise "Well. I tried". The next morning I woke up to find the waitlist had come thru-at 31 days. MS later explained to me that often people wait until close to 30 days to cancel a trip, then do it just before 30 days in order to avoid the dreaded "holding points". So surprise spoiled, but lesson learned-don't give up!

I just let go of my 1 bdrm at BCV for 9 days in mid October yesterday, so I imagine someone is very happy now. Always try for your waitlist if you really want it. You just may get lucky!

Do NYE wait lists ever come through? I will be @ BLT, but hoping for a studio, have a 1 bedroom.

This post gives me hope. We have one night in our 8 day stay that we have wait listed for AKV Kidani for December. Hoping it comes through or we will spend the first two nights at SSR. And then go to Kidani for our last 6 nights.

Just had our one night waitlist (we added on a Friday night at the beginning of our first week in December trip) at akv in a value studio come through. I was shocked.

The waitlist for Vero Beach came in for me for one night of a 4 night stay about 10 days before we left for the trip this past March.

I have had so many waitlists come through, and was surprised each time. We had an October weekend in a studio at GFV come through, a 1 BDR at BCV in October, a concierge level AKV studio in December, and so many others that I can't even remember. We have probably also made other people's waitlist dreams come true as plans change. The WL can totally work out.

Our wait list for a 1 bedroom Kidani Savannah view just came through for Friday December 11. 8 nights at Kidani. Our kids will be so excited. Pixie dust to those still waiting On their wait lists

We've been about 50-50 on waitlists.
I have one right now for a Saturday/Sunday night at the Poly in January. We'll see what happens.

In the last few months I have used the wait list twice and both came through! I was pretty optimistic when I did a wait list for a BWV 2 bedroom Boardwalk view for two nights post cruise in September. It came through rather quickly. The one that shocked me was the wait list for an AKV value studio. I realized if I could get the studio I could do an extra trip this year, and I was able to book all but 2 nights in the middle. I set the wait list up about 2 weeks before the 7 month mark and both nights came through!!!

congratulations! I have SSR studio booked for race weekend in November, WL'd but at least have room at the inn

We've been skunked our last few WLs, after having a great success rate. Was starting to think those who stalk the member site were grabbing all the goodies before the WLs panned out lol.

Spending the first couple of nights at SSR is kind of appealing to me. I love the pools and the close proximity to DTD. I love all the changes over there!
