On our last visit I was talking to a CM about various things and I mentioned how booked Cinderella's Royal Table always was and how lucky I felt when we managed to catch a table that had been cancelled on a trip in '06 and he mentioned that if I wanted to take the family there I should check around 2-3 in the afternoon....he said that you very well might catch an opening. Well, today we went to the MK for a last minute walk-around and to catch Belle's show and I decided to go by the castle to see if anything was open.....3 minutes later my girls were getting their pictures made with Cinderella and we were being seated. Moral to the story......don't be intimidated by preconceived notions that something is not attainable. It doesn't cost you a thing to ask if a walk-in is available.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! You're ruining the secret for the rest of us walk-ins. :rotfl:

There's been plenty of times I just walk up and say hey to various TS. Worth a shot if something smells good in the kitchen.

I'm going to move this to our restaurant board.

The problem with walking in is that sometimes it works but you can't count on it. You can try it, but always have another plan. And be able to explain to the children if they don't just let you walk into the castle.

CRT is also not as popular as it used to be. Le Cellier passed it long ago as the hardest reservation to get. I think either they have finally priced it out of the reach of a lot of guests, or more guests are just not interested.

Very good points. Best thing to do is just tell the fam to stay put around the corner and then walk up and see if anything is available....it would be a terrible let-down if the kids got their hopes up only to not get in. You are also 100% correct on the price....it cost just a tad under $200 for myself, Wife, 13, 8, and 2 yr olds. We were on our way out of the park to head home when the idea hit me so at least it was a GREAT last thing to do.

I'm new to the whole Disney planning thing - but I would say the statement that it's priced out of reach is very accurate. We will do this once for my 5yo DD's bday because she has wanted to visit Cinderella's castle for the past two years. Unless the food is incredibly outstanding (which would defy what every person has told me in person or online) we're doing this as a once in a lifetime experience - at least as long as we're paying! Next go round we'll do Epcot instead.
