I just watched a news segment about Facebook apps that request your phone number. It seems that a lot of kids do various Facebook apps that request a phone number at the end. What they don't realize is that, by giving their phone number, they are agreeing to a service of some type that results in a monthly charge to their phone bill (or their parents' phone bill).
Facebook says it is not their responsibility. It is an agreement made between the Facebook user and the advertiser. Unfortunately, the advertisers are taking advantage of the naivete of kids.
Warn your kids that they should not give their phone number out to any app on Facebook.

) or something on facebook, and you have to enter your mobile # for the results. He gave them my number. Now I get to call At&T every month to have 19.99 in charges taken off my bill. It first happened in March, I cancelled the service right away, but it still pops up on my bill. I imagine it could get really costly if there is more than one charge and it isn't stopped right away.
