I know I don't have to say this, because we are all concerned about all of the affected areas, but the people of Mississippi are suffering too. As one Mississippian said, "we are suffering, we just aren't killing each other". Obviously, the heavily populated NOLA gets the attention but 100,000 square miles has been affected.

I'm glad that New Orleans finally got taken care of....now onto saving and feeding those in MS!

I saw a news item--it was very disturbing. You would "think" that we could handle multiple disasters in multiple states. But they get triaged just like in an emergency room. Meanwhile, everyone's hurting.

ETA: The one article I read that I think you are quoting--wasn't a very nice one. Most of the stranded in NOLA weren't killing each other. But with no tv--he doesn't seen what we see.

most of the crews that have left here heading out to help have went to the hattiesburg area and are working thier way south. i've been approached to take my crew and go that direcxtion too, but we are going to wait till the clean up d isposal period is over then go for rebuilding if we are needed

I haven't forgotten Mississippi, no way! While I feel horrible for NOLA, my heart is really with MS. I spent 2 tech schools and numerous TDY's at Keesler, and Biloxi was like my second AF "home". To see the pictures and not be able to recognize anything of a city I know so well...it's heartbreaking.
