Don't Eat at Sci-Fi

This is a must for us when we go to the studios. We always eat lunch here. We love it!

We will be going to Sci-Fi for the first time for dinner. Other than the milkshakes and onion rings, any other recommendations?

Also, in regards to seating, we are a family of 3. DS is 5. Any idea how they will arrange the seating? I am a bit on the "pooh" size and I don't imagine we will all fit in the same seat but I am worried about not sitting face to face. Thanks.

Melissa,
There were a few tables off to the side to made to look like the picnic area of the drive in where you could ask to sit, but your son will probably want to sit like everyone else, in a car,a nd I think you might feel like a cast off or something sitting there.

Facing forward wouldn't be that bad -- whoever sits alone I would have sit in the front of the two, and that person could just kind of turn to the side for conversation.

THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN A BURGER, ONION RINGS AND SHAKE AT SCI-FI! THIS IS A MUST EVERYTIME WE GO.

We do only go for lunch and we do not do the DDP at Sci-Fi, we have an early lunch and share the meal, it works out perfect . YUMMY! YUMMY!

CAN'T WAIT TILL DECEMBER! SCI-FI HERE WE COME!

I don't hate the Sci-fi, in fact, last year,we ate there and had the ribs and onion rings and the spinach dip. All were really great!!! We are planning on eating there again this year. However, (you just knew there was going to be a "but", didn't ya!) we had to wait almost an hour for our table!!!! It was terrible. There were just six of us and we kept seeing people going in to eat with less and more and some were six like us. I finally went to the desk and asked what had happened? They "forgot" about us!!!!:rolleyes1 I was not thrilled, but we waited. I stood right at the desk and about 10 minutes later we had a table. Glad the food was good otherwise......

:coffee: not THE best food in the world but not too bad....go for the fun and atmosphere and enjoy ! ! !:thumbsup2

I agree the food isn't the greatest on the planet, but you can do much worse! Clearly somebody drank more than their fare share of Hateorade! :rotfl2:

This is our families favorite tradition at MGM. We eat here once sometimes twice a year for the last 13 years.:cool1:

I've eaten there three times...once in '95, 2006, 2007. I was more impressed with it on the DDP because we got to try so much more. I had the spinich and chips appetizer and loved it. I then had the shrimp pasta, which was excellent, but I was soooo full after teh appetizer I didn't eat too much. DH's onion rings were fantastic and his burger was great too. The cheesecake presentation was enough in itself! So cool with the carmel corn and m and m's decorating the plate. Plus, it was mighty tasty!!! My bros and DH loved the sundaes they got....waaaayyyy huge! They walked out of there stuffed to the gills. We love both the atmosphere and the food we've tried. We've also had very interactive waitstaff which has made it fun, too.

we ate their last year I had the reuben and hubby had the staek on their menu i think.....anyways it wasn't that good at all! not worth the money IMO.
but the atmosphere is great! service was great!
we might try it again and just get burgers this time......
I am pooh sized as well and we sat in the cars and I fit but it was tight and not very comfortable at all!

I, and my sister & best friend have to disagree with OP. . .we ate there last month and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Great food, great service, great staff and great atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more! We will be returning on our next trip. :teeth:

We're 1-1 at Sci Fi. First time was great, food great, service great, had a great time with the people we shared a car with!

Second time this past March, food was still good but service was AWFUL!!! Why is it that waiters (in general, I've noticed; not just at WDW), DISAPPEAR when it's time for your check? We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 4. When we were done, we were DONE and wanted out!! The mommies had to stay behind and wait for/settle the checks while the daddies took out the kids! UGH!
