Anyone know if donny and marie appear
at the stage door to sign autographs
after performances?...or if there's a meet
and greet after shows

what is this show ?

Donny/Marie have come to broadway with a show
some christmas songs and music from their vegas show.
It started early dec and runs through jan 2. I am hoping
to get into the city to see the performance

Hi Sharon! :wave2:

I got back from picking up my tickets at the box office today. I can't wait to see the show! :dance3: I got really close, premium priced, center orchestra tickets for less than the price of the further back, regular priced tickets online! :woohoo:

I did ask the box office if they know if Donny & Marie come out to meet people afterward. He said they didn't know. He said verbatim, "Don't be surprised if they don't come out, because they have some fans that are maniacal.

For their own safety, they probably don't come out and meet people afterward."

He did tell me that the stage door is in 45th St. So it's worth a try. :yay:

Hey, long time no see!!!! How did you secure cheaper seats??
I am left row G but I think the fourth seat in, so not great
but close to stage and I didn't pay the premium price. An on line
friend told me they don't come to the stage door and she hears
for an extra charge you can get backstage for a meet and greet.
Can't seem to find anything out on line though!!!(only for vegas show)
'mI excited too, have also always loved them. Have seen Donny
twice, never marie...when are you going??:santa:

DH surprised me in October 2008 and took me to see their show in Vegas. (That was just after the show had started.) He knew that I was a HUGE Donny Osmond fan as a girl. He splurged and got us VIP tickets so we sat right at the stage and had meet and greet time with them after the show. We had our pictures made with them, got autographs, etc.
So if you are not able to meet them/get autographs in NYC, you can do it at their Vegas show.
BTW, they put on a FANTASTIC show!!!!!!!!!!! You will have a great time!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!! really looking forward to seeing them!!! Doubt we will get to vegas that's way I'm so glad they are in nyc!!!

I saw it 2 weeks ago with my Osmond Brother fan from childhood. It was a great show and alot of fun.:cool1:
I only wish it would last longer so I can see it again!

it has been extended by a day- jan 2 and I read in the local
newspaper that if it takes hold and fans love it, it may be a yearly
show in nyc!!!!!

I have also been such a Donny fan since a girl.   Marie, not so much. She was a little to country to me.

A few years ago, someone here posted that she was seeing Donny in concert. I checked his website, and he was going to be appearing just several blocks away from me, about a month & a half later. Since, Marie hadn't done Dancing With the Stars, yet, neither she nor Donny had made their comeback yet. The tickets were ultra cheap.

Only, I forgot to write down the day he would be in town and didn't remember to look again until about a week too late!   I had been kicking myself ever since. :headache:

Then, they had their Vegas show. And I have been so wanting to see that. I'm not into Vegas, but that would be the one show that I would make and effort to go see.

So, a few weeks ago, when I heard they were doing their show, HERE, several blocks from me, I was ecstatic. :yay: :woohoo: :dance3:

I thought about getting the premium seats, as it would have been about the cost of a flight to Vegas. They had front row available at the time. But, overall, I just couldn't justify the extra $120 that premium seats were at $269 online, when I could get seats 12 rows back for $145 each. The ticket place online even has a new feature to pick your own seats out online now. So you can see what is available.

Here is the ticket place online that I kept looking at. Someone here turned me onto it:

http://www.playbill.com/events/listing/1.html

I kept watching and debating the seats. Premium or regular price? :scratchin I even saw that Row K, which was originally the last row of premium seats had dropped down to regular price and it was filling up fast, as the date for the show I want got nearer.

I just had a hunch. Usually, the box office always has seats they do not release to the ticketing agents. I also wanted to see if they possibly discounted the premium seats on the actual show day. I finally went to the box office, and talked to the box office guy yesterday. He said, yes, always go to the box office as they can punch in and see whats available in a different way. Now, I got us 10th row center for regular price! :dance3:

He didn't say they were originally the premium price, but I know from looking online that that's what they were going for there. Also, they were NOT listed online as available. So he DOES have other seats available that are not listed on line. :woohoo:

Now, if the box office guy had said there was a Meet & Greet here for an extra charge, I would have sprung for that. That would have made it worth the extra bucks. :faint:

Sharon, are you guys coming in on the 1st again? I remember you did that last year. :goodvibes

Thanks for you newsy reply!!! No, not coming in on the 1st cause
were coming on the second to see the added donny/marie show!!
I noticed too that the seats seemed to be getting cheaper closer
to the front. I actually considered going in and trying to get closer
center seating at regular price like I do for Jersey Boys but was
afraid to take the chance. Someone I facebook with saw the show
and had videos of it, it looks great!! Only a few christmas songs
and the rest from their vegas show...the oldies like puppy love and
paper roses and theres a song that marie dedicates to the son she
lost, tearjerker for sure. I know a few more tidbits but I don't want to spoil
it all for you...unless of course you want to know!!!!! When are you
seeing the show??

Oh I hope it will be a yearly show!! My pals & I were in NYC from Dec. 7-9 and that is when I first heard about the show. If I had known in advance I would have stayed the extra day! We stayed at the Hotel Edison (across the street from the Marriott Marquis where they have this huge billboard of Donny & Marie.

If the show is done yearly - you bet I'll go! If not, I will definitely finish planning a Vegas trip! :)

I HEAR YA!!!! Its awesome that they have come east to do their show!!!
A yearly thing would be terrific!!!

I want to go, but the only day we are going into the city for the holidays we are going to see Elf. I would sell those in a heartbeat to see Donny:love:, but I don't think my dad would appreciate it. 35+ years ago he brought me to see The Osmond Bros at MSG for my first concert ever. I still remember a girl getting onstage and attacking Donny while he played the keyboard LOL. I hope they do make this a yearly show - I would definitely go next year.
