Now if you are in the swap with me for the Donald breakfast - the Donald is with that group (Daisy is too)
it also has Mickey, Minnie & Goofy - I think
can't remember if got Pluto done or not
I have slept since I made this & not got around to cutting them out except for Donald
Woohoo...thanks so much...Safari Donald is perfectMy DD is "friends" with Donald, Mickey and Minnie over at Tusker House and Camp Mickey Minnie so this will work perfectly. Thank you again so much.
I love all of the Donalds too...can't wait to cut some of them out.

If you need help with SCAL, the SCAL forum is wonderful, and is very active and most questions are answered within a day.
I am sure Reddy used inkscape to create these.
The hardest part for me is to find the "right" image. I think sometimes I am too picky.
I would suggest starting with a solid image, a silhouette is easy, and trace that either in inkscape or SCAL. Or you could use a dingbat.
I also really like the dingbats and svg's from lettering delights. And most every week they are giving away more free stuff.
Lettering Delights is the graphics firm that did the artwork for most of the Cricut Lite cartridges at Walmart. PC and LD have since parted ways.
I really don't mind teaching folks how to use SCAL as I think it has expanded my creative way beyond what PC could ever dream of imagining. so please ask any questions you may have.
Yes I use inkscape - I have that down so that is what I use -- need to try doing the dingbats in SCAL since I have several that I want to use
anyways what I do is get the beizer tool, click on a section edge & draw around it using as few "nodes" (these are a little square) as possible. Connect the end with the beginning (if I need a line then I click on one edge of the line then the other edge then back to the first edge) if there is more than one sections hold the shift button down & start the next section (you can release after the first node is in place).
after all sections are traced I use the 2nd tool down (when I hold the mouse over it says - edit path by nodes) & adjust the lines - kinda move the lines with the mouse or if the nodes have a little line with a circle attach you can click on the circle & adjust this way.
remember that under the edit tab there is a undo button which you can click on several times if you really goof up --This is how I do pictures or things that aren't that great
coloring books - are a wonder start
I usually send everyone to this site - http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/images-to-svg/
this has several links that explains how to do several types from several people - sometimes the other version is what makes in it click in your head. It took me a month for it to click in my head - I really wonder why now, I almost deleted SCAL (about 5 times)
