Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

I got lost this morning and ran a little more than I planned (and a little faster). 7 miles in 1:09:38. I'm hurting (sore) but, the Azalea Trail Run is next weekend and 1 month until the Music City 1/2 Marathon. I am loving getting in seriously good shape; I just wish I would start loosing weight!!!!!!

Had an absolutely gorgeous day here.....70 degrees and sunny! The next 4 days are supposed to be dreary and chilly, so luckily I was able to enjoy today. I checked in for jury duty, but I was not selected or I should say I was 'deselected' from serving, so I was able to get out and walk in sunshine. Now, I believe in doing my duty and I have served on two other juries, but I was really glad to not be cooped up inside today.

Weekly totals:
509 minutes
28 miles
It was a combination of walking, stationary bike, pilates, and other various classes.

:cheer2: Go Team :cheer2:

Hey team!

SamSam - lol I had jury duty on Mon. but was released by noon!
I can't wait for the 70's around here!!!! I'll be in WDW this time
next month, so I'll be able to run in warmth.

BamaEd1 - good luck on your upcoming races:goodvibes

Betsy - :tinker: just wanted to send you some pixie dust for a speedy
recovery. Hope all goes well with the pt.

Bryan - what can I say but You Rock!
Keep up the great work and I know you'll be at your bench pressing
goal soon:goodvibes

Happy Easter and Have a Great Weekend!

Thanks, y'all...my leg is still hurt. I went to the track after work and was limping before I made one lap. Then it started raining and snowing, so I bailed and didn't even try to at least walk a mile (for even numbers, ya know!). I'm getting a bit discouraged, but will see a PT guy on Monday for it.

So...I went to water run this morning and did strength work, so that's all good.

Happy Spring, everyone!

Where is our fearless leader? Miss ya, Big Vic!

I'm still hanging around. Waaaaaaaay to much stuff going on.

Sorry to hear about your leg. Hope you can get it healed up.

Spreadsheet has been updated. :)

Weekly totals...not much running, or biking (travelling for work)

35 miles/5:45 hours

Breakdown:
1.0 miles run-walk-limp/:20
32 miles bike/2:10
2 miles swim/1:20
weights and water-running: 1:55

Missed today's workout because of snow and bad roads on the way to the pool/gym.
Happy Easter!!

:woohoo: Alright Team!!:yay: I get so excited when I read about what all of you are accomplishing week in and week out. Some may be doing more than others in miles but everyone has circumstances that get in the way and cause issues for us to miss workouts or minimize workouts.

Betsy I just have to say that you are awesome. You are trying to battle through an injury that is a huge hinderance, train for your triathalon season and plus all of the traveling you have to do with work. It is impressive what you still are attempting to do!:worship:

Liz Congratulations on the good numbers. I am hoping that your teacher tests went good a couple of weeks ago but since you haven't mentioned it recently, I am guessing it did. By the way, wtg on the shopping trip recently.

Big Vic Oh Captain! My Captain! Here is some pixiedust: pixiedust: wishing your schedule will lighten up a little. I know how frustrating it can be when things prevent you from achieving goals you have set for yourself.

Kzmarathon Running 20 miles in a week. :yay: :worship: That is fantastic. I felt like my leg was going to cramp up after "wogging" one mile. Doing 20 is phenominal. Way to go!

SamSam Another week with good numbers. You are staying very steady and consistant. :cheer2:

BamaEd It is frustrating to do all of these miles of cardio and not see any movement on the scale. I have found out that due to all of the calories that I am burning, it is making it where I am eating more and more. I am eating pretty clean but I am eating too much before bed so my body doesn't have a chance to burn off the calories the way it should. That's why my weight loss has come to a stand still. Just realize that you are doing great, you are making yourself healthier and in the end, you will be happier than ever before.

Totals This week was amazing for me due to all of the time that I had that I could have spent at the gym. But I had to make a choice. I was able to take a lot of time off from work this week so I would go directly to the gym and do my normal style of workout but not try to kill myself by overdoing it. By doing it that way, I was able to spend more time at home with my kids as well so we all won.:yay: Now for my totals:

Walking - 4 miles (1 hour)
Biking - 116 miles (7 hours)
Training - Weights, abs and stretching (6 hours)

Total miles - 120 miles
Total training time - 14 hours

Have a great Easter everyone!!!:cheer2: :grouphug:

bubba- Wow, awesome hours and miles! :cheer2: Just...pretty please...don't push yourself too hard. :goodvibes

SamSam No worries. I am not hurting myself with the time I am putting in the gym. I have always been one to average at least 2 hours a day there . Now, I am just adding more cardio. So all is well. Thanks for the well wishes though. Means a lot.:grouphug: :yay:

Hey Bryan -
Excellent job on the miles/hours! Keep it up my DFD buddy!
as for the teacher test, I won't know for another week or
so but there was a LOT of trigonometry, calculus, etc.
So I'm not feeling that confident, but there's always July to retake it :)

Have a great day everyone!

Hi, Gang!
I did the Urban Dare race today. I need to map out how far we ran, but somewhere around 7 miles. (yay for double miles!)
My racing partner and I came in 6th! Out of about 75 or 80 teams that started. :goodvibes

My leg was not too happy with running all around, searching for checkpoints and such. But it held up relatively well, considering I've pretty much not run for almost 3 weeks. And we had such a good time! (We = My friend and I, not my leg and I. :rotfl: )

Will try to get something on the race report post later...I'm pretty whipped, considering I flew from Alaska to Texas overnight, arriving at 9 am. and then did this race starting at noon today.

Sorry for being late but here are my miles and hours this week.

25 miles 180 minutes

Bill

totals for the week...

4 miles (walk/run and 2 swims)
150 minutes

Next week will be better, though! (Hoping for less rain and less LTO!!!) :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful Easter! :goodvibes

Hey, Donald's Defiant Dashers! Have a HAPPY EASTER & don't bother asking the duck to lay any special Easter Eggs. I've got you covered on that front.

Enjoy my low-calorie, virtual version of the holiday treat! ;)

SamSam No worries. I am not hurting myself with the time I am putting in the gym. I have always been one to average at least 2 hours a day there . Now, I am just adding more cardio. So all is well. Thanks for the well wishes though. Means a lot.:grouphug: :yay:

:thumbsup2 Glad to know. I was worried that you were pushing yourself too hard 'for the team'', if this is your usual workouts; then, no worries.
Myself, I'm used to working out everyday and so I have difficulty with days off, and have trouble with MFM because of that. BUT, I'm trying to listen to those with more experience.:goodvibes

Deekaypee Hope you have a Happy Easter as well. And, if I may, I want to congratulate you on the wonderfully awesome numbers that you have been consistantly putting up. Very impressive.

Betsy It is very encouraging to see that you did the race yesterday considering the strikes that you have been having to deal with. I just really hope that it gets better for you. Like you have been telling me, don't push yourself and end up making it worse. pixiedust: pixiedust:

Update I don't think update is the right word but more or less of a promise for this week. I am setting myself a public goal of 125 miles for the week. When I accomplish that number, that will give me 500 miles for the month. What is really neat is to think that I am only 20 miles away from having the distance that it is from my house to WDW. I have just about rode a bike all the way there. That's kind of cool.

Here is wishing all of you a wonderful Easter, a fantastic weekend and an extraordinary week.:cool1: :thumbsup2

Hi, gang! Happy easter to everyone celebrating.

SamSam: Good job! Now send some of that gorgeous spring weather up here, please.

Twotoo: wish I were going to be wdw this time next month. :sad2: I really wanted to get there and get that Minnie medal before it was gone forever, byt the fates are not working in my favor.

Bryan: What can I say...I'm in awe.

Betsy: Great job on the race! Hope your leg feels better every day and you are soon 100%

Lynnda: rain and life took over here, too. Hoping we both have better weeks this week!

I know I missed folks (as usual), so sorry. No slight intended. WTO in a huge way this past week, and its been hard to keep up with the board, my exercising, or anything else. My numbers for this week are a bit disappointing for me:

miles:8.5
minutes: 135

But the good news is that this week will definitely be better -- I've already logged in 8 solid hours of "cross-training" in the yard, raking up winter debris, dethatching the lawn and pruning/sawing back tree limbs. I feel like I can barely lift my arms right now. And I am getting the hell out of dodge for a few days, heading down to the outer banks of North Carolina for a few days of R&R with my BFF and our kids and 4-legged household members, which means I will be walking and running a lot. My goal is to break the 50-mile mark this week....

Everyone have a great week and keep up the good work!

Hey Triple D's hope everyone had a happy Easter, between work and the weather training has been very limited. Hopefully spring will come to the Northeast soon. I think we may be able to start with the road bikes during lunch this week so the miles should start coming.

Last weeks numbers

0 Miles :sad2:

200 minutes from skiing Saturday and Sunday

I have got to apologize for being "absent" the last 2 weeks for check in. LTO (basically I didn't feel like adding up my milage - me being lazy) is what kept me away - but it hasn't kept me from doing at least a little bit of running mostly walking. As of right now I am dealing with that pesky shin splint AGAIN (I wondered when it would show up again) so I trying to at least get my milage in (mostly on the TM in the evening watching a TV show) I have to remember I am trying to train for the Minnie 15k so I have to get some milage in. YIKES

Well so here are my totals for the last 2 weeks starting with the week of 3/7-3/13

7.2 miles - 101mins (1hr 41 mins)

3/14-3/20

10.1 miles - 137mins (2hrs 17 mins)

I hope to keep up better in the future. In the mean time any advice besides ice for the shin splints?

Bryan,

Right back at you & then some! That's one heck of a public goal. And what incentive you have, too, with the home to WDW distance.

I just know you can do it! :cheer2: (Wait, SHOULD I be cheering you on? Sometimes I forget what team I'm on! :lmao:)

To all the DDDs--you're doing fantastic! :yay:
