Donald's Defiant Dashers Team Challenge

Next week I'll get to claim double miles for the National Marathon I ran today :cool1: .

Finished with a clock time of 3:41. Chip time should result in a PR by a few minutes.

Excellent job!!!! That's about what I did the 1/2 marathon in:scared1:

Glad you were feeling better
and able to do your race Ed - Nice job!:thumbsup2

Not a great week, feeling ill still today.

Hours 4.5
Miles - 16

back to bed for me

Have a good week everyone:goodvibes

Sorry about being late in posting.

Week ending March 21 I only had 90 minutes of core due to some issues.

Week ending March 28:

Core: 90 minutes
Walking: 60 minutes -- 3.08 miles

I am trying to work on "building up" some miles, but had to step back.

Z--Please don't get distracted. Unlike most of us doing our jobs, you being "distracted" from your job could be serious. We want to meet all our team mates in person. And let me also add a big THANK YOU to you, our other WISH members serving and all of your "co-workers" for what you do.

It's been a little quiet here for the last few days. How is everyone doing this week? It has been tough for me this week. Saturday morning, I woke up with a 24 hour stomach virus that left me in bed most of the day Saturday and Sunday so no exercise. :scared1: :confused3 I hate it because I really look forward to my gym trips. It is my relaxation. Monday I was feeling lots better so I went and was able to do 20 miles and a lot of ab work. Went back today and did another 15 miles. I am going to try to finish the week off as strong as I can but I have to remind myself that I need to take care of my health too. Not just always try to "run" up the miles.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Bryan

Bryan, I was thinking it had been pretty quiet on our team thread too.
Do take care of yourself, there will always be another day for exercise! If you do too much before your body is recovered it could delay your complete recovery.

:cheer2: Go Team! :cheer2:

It's been quiet because I was away and -- horror of horrors -- did not have an internet connection! But I am now back from the Outer Banks of North Carolina and ready to make some noise...

and now for the really exciting news -- after spending 8 hours at serious hard labor in the yard and then going on a vacation with nothing better to do than run on the beach with my dog or play basketball with my kids or bike around the island, I am ready to report my numbers (these are through 3/31, Vic, I hope that's okay....)

miles: 69.1 (why couldn't I get that extra 9/10ths?!)
hours: 28hrs, 20 minutes.

so, the moral of this story? I'd be a lot happier and healthier if I were on vacation at the beach instead of sitting in my office working so much. Now to win that lottery . . . .

Hope everyone else is having a good week. Happy April all!

I'm doing much better this week. I feel like I am finally back in a rhythm after such a complicated March!

I am following Bingham's run/walk 5k plan from Running for Mortals, and it really is working well for me. Sometimes I feel like it is progressing too slowly for me (and I have had to repeat a couple of weeks due to my spotty schedule), but I remind myself that I am not simply trying to extend my distance, but build a body that can safely handle a 13 mile run. After my 5K race on 4/19, I'm graduating to the 10K plan!

I am also trying not to compare my pace with all the other people here who are burning rubber! My pace is about 12:45-13 minute miles, and that is quite comfortable for me, but seems really slow in comparison to others. I need to keep reminding myself that I am not doing this to beat others or win anything, but sometimes my very competitive nature has difficulty with that!

Anyway, I have had a great week of training, with 2 good runs outside in the beautiful early spring weather! I have also added spending 10 minutes a night on abs work, and I think that will help a lot.

Wow, has this week went by quickly!
I was out of town and unable to work out for 3 days, so my numbers are down a little this week.
26.5 miles 347 minutes total exercise

It's a beautiful (though chilly) day, so I'll get to run outside today. Wahoo! No dreadmill today!

I'm getting very excited about the Minnie and am really looking forward to meeting any team members who will be there. :cheer2:

Hey Triple-D's

Erica - I'm glad you've unlocked the secret. Now, everyone to the beach!

Kira - Congrats on the great week! And congrats for staying in the right frame of mind about pace and distance (I can tend to get a little competitive myself).

Bryan - Glad you're feeling better and nice to see you realize not every week has to be a record breaker.

Everyone I missed - Have a good weekend. I hope you are all healthy and doing well.

My totals for the week:

Sat - 52.4 miles/440 minutes (Yippee for the bonus on race miles!)
Mon - XT 8.2 miles/30 min
Wed - 4.5 miles/37 min

Totals 65.1 miles/507 minutes

Take care everyone!

Hi, Team!!

Well, I'm going to stop promising more miles....they'll come when they come. Too much travel this month, though I was a good girl and went to the 24 Hr. Fitness in the Vegas airport on Sunday and did the elliptical for 1/2 hour during my 3 hour layover there! (yes, I gambled, too...lost $4, but was down $24 at one point, so that's not a bad outcome). :thumbsup2

This past week:

Triathlon: .3 mile swim/12.5 mile bike/3.1 mile run for 15.9 miles/1:26 time....doubled is 31.8 miles
Running: 3.8 miles/ 0:42
Swim: 0.9 miles/ 0:42
Elliptical: 5.2 miles/ 0:50
Gym bike: 12.7 miles/ 0:50
Strength/core/stretch: 0:30

Grand totals: 54.4 miles/ 5:00 hours.

Seems like a light week, but I guess with the race and the travel, that's how it is shaking out. I seriously need more bike mileage for some upcoming races. I'm not feeling well trained right now.

Happy weekend, everyone!!

Totals for the week:

Miles- 10.3
Time - 181 minutes (including 40 mins abs work - I've started doing 10 min/night)

Keep up the good work everyone!

Great Job Everyone!

I'm just getting back on my feet and feeling better:thumbsup2

miles: 19 (slow wogging/bike)
hours: 5 (bike/core/wogging)

Have a great weekend everyone:goodvibes

Hi everyone :goodvibes

420 minutes
13 miles

I was able to get quite a bit of walking time last weekend and then added an extra 30 minutes during the week for a "walking" lunch.

Next week looks great too as long as the weather holds :thumbsup2

Well, this has been a slow week for me as I was trying to get over that pesky stomach virus I has last weekend. I wasn't able to do any strength training at all this week. So here are my totals.

Miles - 60.75
Hours - 4

I have a couple of errands to do today but I am going to try to get back into the gym. Right now, I feel pretty good so hopefully this week will be better than last.

Hope you all have a good week. Keep up with all of your efforts!:cheer2:

Ok, I'm not sure which day the week ends, I'll do both reports. If it runs until Friday, I had a 10k last weekend in 1hr 12min and 10.6 miles, 2hrs, 25 minutes + 1hr 45min cross training. If it ends on Saturday, take off the 10k; I was planning on a 5k this weekend but the weather did not cooperate.

Bama Ed...did you count the 10K last week? that would be the deciding factor. :goodvibes

sorry the 5K didn't work out.

I counted it last week. I guess you're right, counting double points twice would not work, now would it:goodvibes Since the race didn't work out, I've decided that if the weather guessers are right (fat chance of that), and it is a nice day tomorrow, I'm going to do a long run for my upcoming 1/2. I'm thinking 9 miles. Should be fun.

Hey team! Everyone is doing great!

Here are my totals for this week: 5.5 miles and 215 minutes
That included 3 swim workouts and 1 walk/run. We've had a lot of thunderstorms this week, so my bike and other walk/run got cancelled.

Bill (wfloyd) is very sick (high fever, coughing, etc.), but I'll have him check in with his miles tomorrow.

Have a great week! :)
