Hi everyone :goodvibes

:wizard: to those that are struggling with injuries and :dance3: to those that are piling up the minutes and miles :cheer2:

I've had a LTO & WTO issues so not much to report and the reason I'm late again. Sorry Vic :headache: :flower3:

Minutes - 90
Miles - 6

Minnie

Morning Triple D's - someday once life slows done I will be able to contribute to the thread other then posting the weekly numbers. Hope everyone has a great week.:thumbsup2

Numbers for last week.

Skiing - 84 minutes
Trail run - 5 miles , 50 minutes
Road Bike - 15 miles , 50 minutes

Total - 20 miles , 184 minutes

Hi guys! Sorry I'm late with this - I had a great week last week, but have been in a conference for a few days (I hit the treadmill one morning during the conference which was a big breakthrough!).

C/T - time: 55 min, miles 2.8
Running - time: 147, miles: 11.35

Totals - time: 202 minutes, miles: 14.15

I will not be on the boards for a few days since we're taking the kids to see Washington DC. I'm going to try to keep up the training while we're there. I know I'll be doing LOTS of walking!

I have my first race on Saturday - a 5K. Wish me luck!

Welcome Frank to what I consider the best team of the 8 that are in this competition. We have a great bunch here.

Update Team, I am afraid that this week I will be bringing in some really low numbers, if any at all. I have just gotten back from having an MRI done on my neck and then I took the prints to my Chiropractor. After he reviewed them, the consensus was either a herniated disc or a slight bulging disc. Either way it goes, it actually hurts me to swallow right now. So I am going to take a brief intermission from my training until I can get this issue resolved. I am hoping I can get back to you all in record time and still compete in the Charity Walks that we are having for the next 2 weekends but right now, I just don't know. I promise I will keep you all up to date as I find out anything or as I start to feel better.

Thanks everyone and have a great week.

GO TEAM!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for all the welcome messages. I will have my first set of totals on Thursday for the team. I assume we do our weekly totals from Thursday to Thursday except at the beginning/end of the month.

Hi, Gang!!

Bryan, take care of that disc issue! I only have one more week of travel for a while, so I will (really!) get more bike time in!

I did 2/3 of a triathlon last weekend, and will get some good workouts in over the next couple of days. Hope to get a short race report up on the RR thread today or tomorrow. I did have a great swim and strong bike. Didn't run due to my hip injury, and will be off from running for another few weeks, unfortunately.

LTO is still the word of the week...

Just wanted to post while I am thinking about it so it doesn't slip my mind again. I am starting to get more milage and time in due to my Minnie training so that is a good thing.

16.1 miles and 221 mins (3 hours 41 mins)

Here are my totals for the week of 4/12 To 4/17. I thought it was only fair to use the totals starting Saturday since that is when I was added to the team. I was also told to separate out training time and race time so I did that with the running.

Running:
Racing 3.11 Miles in 19:47
Training 5.34 Miles in 37:23
Biking: 19.28 Miles in 90:47
Weight Training: 280 Minutes

Hey DDD's!! I just wanted to let everyone know that my neck is all better. There was no issue with a disc or anything else. It was a misdiagnosis by my chiropractor. I can't really blame him either. I was in a lot of pain and he couldn't help me. He tried but I needed something that he wasn't prepared for. It's ok though. I'm back and I will have some miles to report for tomorrow.

Hope everyone is doing good this week and I look forward to seeing how we fare this week.

Bryan:cheer2:

Tricia...good job! You're going to rock the Minnie!:thumbsup2

FireDancer...the racing miles are separate because you get to double the miles for a race (but not the time, I don't think), so your 3.1 counts as 6.2! :cool1:

Bryan...so who read the MRI? I am assuming that the chiro looked at it and called the disc, but the radiologist gave the final read and didn't call the disc bulge? just curious, since that is in my line of work. Radiologists have more intensive training in interpreting the images since that is all they do.

As for me, I just got home from a killer bike workout (hill repeats) and had a strong swim this morning. Will post my totals tomorrow morning.
Probably going to get the real miles in starting in May. Likely doing a 90 mile ride first weekend. :goodvibes

Bryan, I'm happy for you that it's not a disc issue.

My weekly totals:

Training: 205 minutes 14 miles (walking)
X-training 220 minutes 13 miles (bike, aerobics, weights, core, etc.)

Totals 425 minutes 27 miles

Have a great week Triple D's! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey Team DDD! My mileage for the week is actually a little better than I had originally thought considering the way it started off. Anyway, here are my totals for the last 2 days.

Miles - 55
Time - 4 hours

If weather permits, I will still be doing the walk tomorrow. It says it is going to rain but I am hopeful.

Ironz The original reading was by the Chiro. I was looking at the same things that he was and it made sense that there could be a "minor" disc issue. But when the professionals looked at it, I guess I was lucky. By the way, good luck with that 90 mile ride. The most I have done is 35 at one sitting and that wore me out. I can't imagine being in shape enough to be able to handle 90. :worship:

Everyone is going great. It really is a lot of fun being a part of this team. Thanks everyone for all of your support!

Bryan:cheer2: :woohoo:

Brian - Glad the neck is resolved. I hope you have no more problems.

Betsy - 90 miles!! Whoa! Very impressive.

Frank - Belated welcome!

My totals for the week:

Sun 13.22 miles/105 minutes
Tue 7.09 miles/57 min
Thur 7.02 miles/58 min

Totals 27.33 miles/220 minutes

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi guys,

I just finished running my first race ever - the 5K race for Clean Air! :yay: I will post about it on the race reports thread later today. It was a lot of fun.

Last week was a goofy week for training. I was in a course over the weekend and then went on vacation for a few days. We did a LOT of walking in DC - I'm counting the measurable miles in my total.

Totals for the week:
Minutes: 86
Miles: 4.5

I hope everyone had a great week. I'll have more time to hang around on the boards (and more time to train) this upcoming week!

Posted on the race boards, but I just have to post here too. Will post the prior week's totals when I have them available.

This morning was the Unser 1/2 marathon through the north valley area of Albuquerque, finishing at the Unser Racing Museum (multi-Indy 500 winning Unser family from Albuquerque).

Big, BIG BIG PR today. My old best was in the neighborhood of 2:13. Today's 1/2 I felt invincible and knew going into it that I would come in under 2 hours. Official time today was 1:46:45. That's a 26 minute PR on a half marathon!!! Garmin time 1:47:01 (didnt stop right at the finish line).

Splits
mile 1 9:03
mile 2 8:17
mile 3 8:09
mile 4 8:11
mile 5 8:07
mile 6 8:09
mile 7 8:20
mile 8 7:59
mile 9 7:58
mile 10 7:52
mile 11 8:06
mile 12 8:03
mile 13 8:00
last 0.12 0:47

Kira- Congrats on the first race! May there be many, many more in your future.

Bryan - glad the neck thing was not as bad as originally thought.

Betsy - 90? Wow...i'll be happy to get 12 in during my tri in 3 weeks.

Good times and mileages from our team! To quote Crush (the turtle from Nemo) "You so totally ROCK!"

Paul

Hey Team!! I was going to drop by and share that I did do the Cancer Walk today. The way it was setup was that they were there for 3 hours and you could come and do as much as you could or wanted too. Well, I didn't get there at the beginning. (I slept late because of the weekend and being a littl lazy.) But after I got there, I did put in 5 miles around the track. Being that this was my first time to do something like this, I was excited but I also let myself down a little. I had set as a minimum expectation 5 miles and that's what I did. My goal was to be able to do 10 miles. I really wanted to be able to claim 20 miles at the end of the week in my walk/jogging column. Well, the week is just starting so we will see how it goes.

Come on team and let's get out there and have a great week!!!

Bryan

Hi, gang!!

Ok...don't get too excited about my 90 mile bike ride...it isn't for another couple of weeks, and still not 100% if I am going to do it, but it is likely.

Bryan...glad your neck is better!

Paul....AWESOME PR!!! That is SWEET!! I'm impressed. :cool1:

Kira...I was in DC part of last week, too. Those monuments are far apart...I think I will count a bit of that since we were powerwalking between. Congrats on your 5K!

Hi, Big Vic!

I had an interesting week. Lots of travel, including a triathlon (just the swim and bike, though...resting my dang hip flexor injury), a few days at home in between trips and some home repair issues....I was in my attic investigating a leak and fell through the ceiling! I caught myself part way down (fell through to my hips). Luckily, I was not hurt, though I will need some drywall repair scheduled.

Swim: 1.5/1:05
Bike: 22.4/1:45
Exerbike: 8.0/:30
Walk: 2.3/:47
Race: 1.0 swim/:30 and 21.8 mi bike/1:18 (double miles: 45.6)

Grand total: 79.8 miles/5:55

I need to get the hours in! Though I have already got 5 hours in for this current week with a 54 mile bike yesterday and an hour water run today. Will tally those up at the end of the week.

Cheers everyone!:goodvibes

Good morning Triple Ds!!

Everyone is doing a great job. Keep it up!! :thumbsup2

Betsy - W'aasuuuup!? Great job with the training!

Paul - Congrats on the PR! You killed it.

Bryan - Glad the neck is better.

Kira - WTG with the 5K

Hey ya'll

I'm in full taper mode for the Country Music 1/2 next Saturday. If DW gets a job this week, then I will get to go, if not the hotel, meal money will have to go for household expenses so please, keep us in your prayers. She has two 2nd interviews so things are looking up.

I've run 13. 4 miles this week in 2 1/2 hours with 2 hours cross training.

Have a great week and "Keep moving forward" QUICKLY:goodvibes
