Donald's Defiant Dashers (AKA Triple D's/Duckies/The Ducks) Dashing into 2010

Yay! I used my bike and treadmill and had a great workout. Nice and easy, but enough. It felt SO good to run again!! Those of you on Facebook will see the picture I posted of the little gym in my bedroom. lol (Hey that reminds me, if anyone else wants to connect on FB send me, or anyone else, a pm.)

Happy day! :sunny:

glad you're all set up again and feeling good!

Hmmm...you never notice the little inclines when driving on the road.
Did eight miles yesterday & those little "inclines" seemed like mountains.
This was me yesterday: :snail:

YES! oh my gosh...yes! :rotfl2:

btw, great job on the 8 miles :thumbsup2

Just finished my run. I increased my speed from 4.0 to 4.2. It's amazing what that little increase can do! I was finding that I wasn't sweating as much with my runs anymore so it was time to kick it up a notch anyway. 5.0 here I come! :cool1:

great job on the increase...you're making such progress! it's been fun to watch

Lady- wow, that's some kind of crowd!!! nice job on keeping moving

Dan - 9 miles....helloooooo

SamSam - 4.6 miles is NOT paultry!!! that's more than a 5k, don't discredit all the work you're doing

Tricia- glad to see you here...i've slacked during April and it's time to move again...

Top "O" the Monday to the Ducks.
I managed to run 7.25 miles on Saturday (another personal best), it felt really good, but it rained in the morning and it was pretty humid, that was a new experience. At 6 miles I started to feel hot spots on the bottom of my feet (no blisters, but a little tender). This afternoon I ran 5 miles and tied my shoes a little tighter with no problems for the feet. I think I am taking a break from running the rest of the week. We are starting our trip down I-75 on Thursday after work and we are looking at 12 hours within 2 days in the car and I don't want to be tight or sore while stuck in the car. We are spending the weekend to see my niece graduate at Georgia Tech. Then a 8 hour drive on Sunday to get to BWV. MK is open till 1am, so we will have a long day.
Augie, I'll keep an eye out for you around the Boardwalk, but I probably won't get to run until next Thursday. We have the Seway tour at Epcot on Wednesday.
I'll keep you updated on our trip, anyone in the area I am thinking about "eating around the world" on the 12th, come join us.
Have a great week everyone.
Joe

Joe, have a wonderful WDW trip. If we were able to be there, we would definitely join you in eating around the world. Have fun on your Segway Tour, we've done it before and really enjoyed the experience.

Solar, you are amazing with your ability to address so many different team members. Thank you so much for taking the time to do so. You rock!

Joe,

Have a great trip...and nicely done on the runs! Glad your feet didn't give you problems when you tied your shoes tighter...isn't it funny how the tiniest details can make such a difference sometimes!?

Wow, I am green with envy!! every time I hear of someones wonderful trip to WDW I wish I was right there with them!!

Enjoy, relax and have a magical time!;)

Good morning all!!!

:yay:

I'm a new member of your team! I'm Andrea, 28 year old single runner from Delaware. In March, I completed my first half-marathon at Disney's Princess Half, and 2 weeks after that, I ran the NYC Half and knocked 10 minutes off my previous time. I'm planning on doing the full marathon in January, and if I can afford to, I'll be doing the Wine & Dine in October.

Also, I have a running blog, so feel free to read along. The URL is my signature :)

Hi udsweetpea and WELCOME!!!!!:dance3:

I am from Brooklyn, NY... I never did any exercising until November of last year... I decided I wanted to run the Wine and Dine Half sooo here I am.

I love the support of the team and can't wait to meet some of these people in October.:woohoo:

Hello Andrea,

Welcome to the best support group on the web!!!! I have only been a member of this group for a few months myself, but feel like I have known these folks forever. Most of us are on Face Book as well so if you have an account look us up. Again welcome and look forward to getting to know you.

Joe- Good luck and have fun on the trip. Look forward to seeing some pics.

Deb- You are the ultimate supporter :worship: What is your next race?

Hello Ducks, hope everyone is doing well!

Welcome Andrea! Sounds like you have some races under your belt already. Keep it up! The NYC Half must have been kind of cool.

Joe, have a safe drive, I arrive Thursday afternoon, hopefully will be out the following mornings, not too long a run, around the lake twice and up the canal and back is what I usually do. You are doing some impressive distances.

I did the 5 Boro Bike Tour this past Sunday, 45 miles through all five boros of NYC. It has become a yearly tradition with several people from work now for the last 12 years or so.

I ran 3 miles today at lunch, would like to get two more runs in, Sunday I hope to do a duathlon.

Have a great week, everyone!

Augie

Have a good week everyone.:3dglasses

That sounds like a fun bike ride. Are they different cultural boros? I need to start doing some bike riding for some cross training.

It is a nice ride, the streets are closed to traffic (which must piss off a lot of people who prefer cars...) and you see a lot of places you might not see. You ride up 6th Ave, through Central Park, through Harlem, into the Bronx for a very short time, down the FDR Drive, over the 59th St bridge into Queens. Up to Astoria Park (under the triboro) and then close to the water through Queens to Brooklyn. Down the BQE and over the Verrazano Bridge to Staten Island, and then a ferry back to Manhattan. About 45 miles. You have to watch out for all the other bikers, there are 35,000 doing this.

I have a neighbor who does this too. He said it is crowded but really fun. He often just comes home once he gets into Brooklyn though, We live right by the Veerrazano soo, it is just easier to come home. makes for a nice workout.. nice day it was too.

Karen: I just realized I never answered your post abut running in SJ.

Where in South Jersey will you moving? Right now, I run around Rowan University, Alcyon Lake & Washington Township. I'm waay south, on the border of PA & DE.

Philly is only 10 minutes away, so Fairmout Park is very nice as well as Kelly Drive.

Then there's always the Jersey Shore.

GOOD LUCK with your move! :yay:
