Is Shannon the only Duck doing the Princess?

... Carrisa - Anything below 50 is cold around here. It's been in the 20s the past few mornings. (In my best Johnny Carson voice) It was so cold I saw a squirrel burying Sterno!Of course, I'll take cold over hurricanes any day. ...

Liz I altered your Speedy picture to look more like Augie.
CONGRATS Ducks to everyone who ran Marathon Weekend, no matter what the distance!
I've been away from the boards for a week or so--been concentrating on trying to win some compression tights on E-Bay--Lol. And on scouting the airfares like the stock market for Princess weekend. Paid-off & I got a great deal. Whew. Glad that's over.
Now onto getting my brain to accept that I have to do 9 miles on the dread mill tomorrow. Thank goodness for Netflix.
Of course I'll have to keep that 9 miles a secret from my PT.![]()
Hopefully the knee holds out.
Welcome to 2011 Ducks![]()
... Here's a funny:
My husband, Bryan, downloaded all my Garmin info from the marathon & he could tell exactly where my pee stops where.
Like Mile 23 when it took me over 18 minutes to finish the mile!
There were only TWO potties & a line!
I LOVE MY GARMIN!
(O.K., I'm a little behind w/technology)![]()
Nope....she's not alone. This duck is in, too!
Then, I'm doing the National Half in March, and the Island 2 Island in Ocean City MD in April. Can't wait to choose one for May!
... The snow CONTINUES to fall up here. And fall. And fall. I'm so sick of shoveling. Temperatures were around minus 7 degF for our high today. And running on the treadmill is a drag. Is winter almost over yet? ...

WAAAHAAAAHAAA!, YES!, you are correct (in my best Ed McMann voice)
Is Shannon the only Duck doing the Princess?
What's up with your knee?
Hope your 9 miles goes well!

....On the TM for 5 this morning. I can't remember the last time I did 5 miles. Felt good though. A walk/jog sort of thing.
Liz - We military men know all about Sterno, and tobasco sauce. Something to heat it up and something to give it flavor.....
I'm an old Duck. I was a good Duck in 2009. I was a bad Duck in 2010. I'd like to rejoin the raft for 2011.
My first half marathon was WDW in 2010. I did two more in 2010 and plan to do my first marathon in a few months (St Louis, April 10). Training is going well. The weather has become a problem with snow cover and stupid temps - I'm in Kansas City. It's forced me to the TM... 10 miles on the TM 1/8. Horrible. I took it outside yesterday. Not too cold, but footing made it challenging. Back to the TM.
If I can do the marathon distance I'm in for Mickey in 2012.
Great to see all the recovery runs and read about marathon weekend successes.

....I am soooo proud of myself today! Ended up doing 10miles on the dreadmill & most of that while watching Bob the Builder & trying to keep my 2 year old away from the machine!
....I did three miles yesterday on the treadmill.
No pain. YAY for KT Tape. I should have used that during the marathon instead of my knee strap.
Liz, are your boys back in school today (MLK day) or tomorrow?
I start back today.
....I did manage to go out for 4 slow miles yesterday. I didn't bring my interval watch but I did use my Runkeeper to keep track. I would run a little until the knee bothered me and then walk until the knee felt better. It worked and I felt good for getting out.
I have somewhat changed up my goals for 2012 Disney marathon weekend. I found out the age limit for the half is 14 (I thought it was 16) so when I told my almost 14 year old niece she was SO excited about doing her first half. So my goal this year is to train her so we can run 2012 half together - although she may end up smoking me at the end!! I know her and she will want to stick with me the whole way until the finish line and then she will take off and leave me in the dust. But I am ok with that. So it may not be looking like a Goofy year again next year. Who knows I may end up getting a PR for the half. This could be fun!!
Hope there's room in the pond for me, Tim (Central Alabama)
I'm back after taking a week off to reflect on the next great adventure, the 2012 WDW Full! I think I'm ready for that challenge after completeing two wdw halves. Anyway that will be some serious soul searching for that decision.
It has been awesome to hear about everyones races. Also I hope everyone that has injuries heals quickly. Good luck training all!
Joe: I saw that you are planning on running the Champion 5k in March, I'm planning to run it also with my brother. Maybe if a few more ducks show up we can meet up for drinks.
As for me....I know what my next race is going to be...will share with you all soon! I'm EXCITED!!!![]()
Was that a hint??? Are you going to do the Princess Half???
Joe: I saw that you are planning on running the Champion 5k in March said:Tim: We should try to meet up before the start of the race. My DD's bf is doing the 5k with me, we check out that morning and head home. I will pm my cell phone number later, maybe we can meet up for a drop on ToT. That can be a Duck tradition.
I was looking at the rundisney.com website the other day (I shouldn't have done it). I think Debbie and I are going to do the Everest race in May. Our annual pass expires that Monday after race weekend, so we thought it was a good way to finish a great year with the AP.I need to keep an eye out for some good flights and hope for some AP discounts to come out.
Have a good week everyone.
Joe
