Donald's Breakfastosaurus

That's why we get the later seating time. We do AK stuff early, then head over to eat around 10:15. We have never felt rushed to finish up.
My strategy exactly. We are always at AK for park opening. We head right to the Safari and then go to the Tree of Life to see It's Tough to be a Bug. And then we head to Dinoland for a 10:30 ADR at DB. We do this every July and the place is very near empty. We never wait to be seated. This year there were probably only 6 or 7 other groups in the main dining room yet the buffet was completely stocked (both hot and cold sections) and none of the food was cold. We got a lot of attention from our server Neil who is hilarious. He took my kids over to the cold section and loaded them up with Krispy Kremes. He took pictures of us with the characters and he even shot some footage of us with my camcorder while making the comment "for those of you watching at home ... this is Dad... this is the first and only time he will be in the video for the entire vacation". Funny stuff ... and so true.
We were not rushed at all. We had plenty of time with the characters. The staff waited until we said we were done before they started breaking down the buffet. Neil kept loading us up with goodies, shoving several of the single serving cereal containers into our bag. Then he came over with a bunch of Krispy Kremes all wrapped up for us to take (I tried to refuse ... but he would not let me).
We do this breakfast at 10:30 almost every year and we always have had a positive experience. Plus with such a late breakfast, we skip lunch that day so when you factor in that savings DB is a good value.

I just got off the phone with WDW-DINE and I was able to get my 8:30 ADR switched to 8:00 thanks to those who reccomended the earliest seating. I just hope that I can get my 2sleepy head boys and groggy hubby up and at it that early.

So going back to the original question, there seem to be very positive feelings about Donald's Breakfastosaurus.

A lot of people say that no, you don't have to stand in that long line if you just want to grab some more bacon. Others will say that of course...everyone gets in line and you wait.
I get what you're saying here. I'm on the go-get-your-scoop-of-eggs. I think that is the nature of buffets. One person dawdling around can't hold up a whole line of folks ready to go. But that's just me.

The thing with Donald's is different, though. Donald's is just set up so that a throing of people have to shove in and fight. If you wanted to wait and stand in line, it would be forever before you got to the buffet.

Isn't there some way they could fix it up so that didn't happen? Crystal Palace is wonderful, as is Park Fare. Chef Mickey's is a little chaotic, but no shoving, really. So it isn't the guests messing up Donald's. It has to be the set up.

Of course, none of us DISers would crowd in if we didn't have to...we're such wonderful people!

You know...after eating here several times (at least 3), I have had the same thoughts. The other buffets don't have this same issue. I'm not sure what the issue is. There are two distinct sides. When you go to get in line, by the plate disbursing area, you can then go with left or right. It seems that those that are eating on the 'right' side of the restaurant, go right, and those eating on the 'left' side, go left. I have never eaten on the 'right' side, but I have used the right side line....it seemed to be much shorter. And just the way it is set-up is hard to navigate. Most buffets have a big open space all around the buffet area. Not so at this one. It is a pretty confined area.
But, I still really like this breakfast. It is one of our family favorites!!!
