Hi,
currently have adr for chef Mickey's breakfast on a Saturday then heading to AK for the day.
Would it be better to just go to Donald's for his breakfast being it is at AK or would it be worth the traveling to do Chef Mickey. We have a 9 am time.
We r staying at POR.

Thanks so much everyone.

If you're going to AK, I would recommend eating at Donalds or Boma (Donald's if you want the characters). Chef Mickey is just too far out of the way, that would put you at getting to AK well after 11am - and you've just missed PRIME touring time.

My suggestion, go to AK, be there at park opening, and eat a late breakfast at Donalds. OR...try to secure an 8:00 or 8:05 seating at Donalds (this is assuming AK opens at 9am) and be ready at park opening to GO! Do NOT do this if AK opens at 8am. The first hour is the most crucial in getting the most out of the park!

We ate at Donald's at 8:00 am on a day the park opened at 9. It was our best character breakfast by far!! The characters were great, the food was wonderful, and our server did magic tricks that my kids loved. I also loved walking through a empty AK to get to the restaurant. I really got to look around and take the scenery in. We were done eating by 8:45 and standing at the ropes at Dinoland with about 5 other people. My dd (2) got to ride the little Dinosaur ride 3 times without getting off. We rode Primeval Whirl without a line and played in the play area with no one. We didn't want to ride Dinosaur but I am sure there was no line. My dh walked the park to secure Safari FPs and walked by Everest on his way back and a CM handed him FPs for that out of the blue!! It was great! I highly recommed Donald's for a early breakfast to have a great morning at AK!!

We went with Donalds on our AK day. Its a time saver! The park opens at 9:00am our Ressie is at 8:00am.

Do I need to bring a copy of our ADRS printed out from ASMu to get in early?

When they let you in early do they let you stop and take pictures in front og the Tree Of Life?

Thanks. will definitely get there early and enjoy the park.

I was going to cancel my Donald ADR (am tired of buffet, want to be waited on), but now I think I'll keep it reading this.

To the OP, cancel CM if for nothing else the time factor. Eating in or close to your park day is huge. We ate at CM last trip because of all the great reviews and found it highly overrated and won't return. On to try new things like Donalds ;)

I agree with this! We wasted so much time at Donald's by eating when the park opened. So this trip we're eating NO character breakfasts at all, but moving them to lunches and dinners. Gotta get those first couple of hours in the parks for the rides.

I would recommend Donald's but do an ADR for first thing in the morning. We had 8am at Donalds and had the freshest food and got to go right to the rides when we were done.
