I ran the Goofy in 2010 and it snowed/sleeted during both races.

I know this was not normal, but what is normal weather for the weekend?

If you are trying to predict the Florida weather for that time of year you may as well ask a magic 8 ball because that’s about as accurate as anything else.. could be hot could be cold or it could be perfect.. it might rain it might not no one knows...

This year was the opposite. It was swealtering hot for both races...

I know it was hot to run a marathon but it was far from sweltering,I ran the full marathon and it got to 84-85 and that was towards the end of the marathon from 11am on,before that it was actually very pleasant,I remember at the beginning of that marathon on World drive some winds came and it literally felt like they turned on the A/C.If you're only doing the half by the time you're done it's still going to be pretty cool even on the hottest days January has. That's exactly why they do this race in the coldest time of the year,it's possible it could be really cold or pretty warm but more likely than not it's probably going to be somewhere in the middle which as someone before me said is near perfect temps,on top of that it's dry season.Yes I am a Floridian and there were tons of posts about the weather and that it was hot during the race this year,I'm obviously very used to the warm weather so I can understand when people from cold climates complained about it being hot,but it just wasn't that bad.I just wonder how I'll react if the 2014 marathon also has lows in the 20's with snow, probably not good,at least until the race starts and I can get some blood flowing.

If you are running, anything above 60 degrees is too hot to reach your potential. 80 degrees is sweltering. Now, if you are just coasting through the distance, that is another story.

Ummm, I don't know what race you ran but the one I ran was hot and humid from the get go. I was sweating at the start line. By the time the sun came up I was drenched in sweat. There was a heat warning for the race and several people collapsed due to the heat. 84 degrees and over 90% humidity is very hot for a marathon.
BTW, I live in Florida too so I know hot.
Running in 20's is great! If it is raining it can be a challenge to get going but otherwise it is awesome. 30's is better, 40's is ideal. I have done them all in Florida and in other locations and heat is the hardest on the body by far!

Very true and I expect the OP understands that, but was just looking for what the average was. Anyone that expects that, could be in for a BIG shock :D
