I am buying a house on Donald Ln, and I am thinking it would be really fun to theme it based on Donald duck.

Or, as Donald Duck's house, and then Dress up as Donald Duck on Halloween.

The house is already yellow, but in need of a paint job anyway.
I am thinking thinking a yellow base, then white, then blue, then white again, with a subtle Donald Duck in there if one looks close enough.
When I do eventually do the roof, I am sure I will go with white, it gets really hot here (Austin Texas).

But then I started thinking, Donald Duck would not make his house look like himself.
In Toon Town he has a boat, not a House.

Is there any Disney Cartoon, that shows Donald's house?

Ideas?

Cute idea!
You can hang a sign, like people on a ranch do. Say something Ducky, I guess :) and with plywood and some skill, you could somehow make a Donald hat replica for over the porch or something.

Can you post a pic of the hosue as it is now?

Make sure you post an AFTER pic if you do this!

use his signature colors of white, blue and yellow...sometimes the subliminal hits the mark as well. Have fun!

You could do the the house white with blue trim and add in bright yellow accents in the way of flower pots or maybe a bench with a bright yellow cushion depending on your yard or front porch. You could also do a Donald mail box. Maybe make it look like his house in Toontown or maybe in the actual shape of him and have his stomach be the actual box. Even a cute stone statue in the front yard with flowers around it would be fun. You could also make a cutout of Donald holding your house numbers to place in the yard. :) Hope you gets lots of great ideas.

yea seriously

Toon Town style yea, that is what I have in mind, and I have a simple shape to start with.

White with blue trim, and yellow accents is good.

We don't have mail boxes (we have those street things, where we have to walk down the street to get our mail).

Maybe a door knocker, like the one in Mickey's Christmas Carol, and I can an electronic door bell where I can load my own mp3 into it, and have Donald Duck's voice answering.

I can't find a good garden statue, I did find a sort of Garden Statue of Donald Duck, but I think it is the sort that the paint will wear off of quickly.
I have a really good quality snow white garden statue, that I got years ago in WDW (just the shape, in maybe a brass or some metal that is not rusting in my yard), I was hoping to find something like that of Donald Duck.

Yea, I will take pictures.
This will be the first time I paint a house a color other then pink.

The house sale still could fall through. If the inspection comes back with major issues, I will use my opt-out option.

The sale contract went into effect on April Fools day, and my Realtor is a Lemon.
(he is actually pretty good, but his last name is Lemon).

I withdrew my offer on the house on Donald Dr

The inspection results were worse then I thought they would be.
I am still kind of wishing I had just tried to get the seller to fix stuff, but since some of the issues (code violations) on the inspection was stuff they had already hired someone to fix, I wasn't sure I trusted them.
If it had just been workmanship on the cosmetic stuff (like sloppy paint jobs) I would have not minded.
But it went beyond that.

I will probably buy a house on a street without a fun name.
But maybe if I am patient, another house on Donald Dr will come up for sale.

I'm so sorry you didn't get your Donald house. I hope the perfect house on Donald comes up for sale. I think having a house with a theme is a genius idea. Don't let that idea ever die. :) Good luck looking for your next house! Maybe the house you find is the perfect house after all.

Since you're not buying the house, this doesn't matter now, but it was very easy to find the house you are talking about on realtor.com. I don't know how you feel about having your address so easily searched, but if you had bought that house many strangers who read here would know your address. Just something to keep in mind for the future.

Personally, while I have loved visiting Mickey's Toontown, I would not want to live in or next to a Toontown house.

LOL, you have officially freaked out my DD14 who has always been completely in love with Donald. She says she HAS TO SEE PICTURES and CAN WE GO SEEEE IT??? (Yeah, we're in Maine, heh)

:thumbsup2

Sorry you had to withdraw your offer. But really? You wanted to model your house after Toon Town? Guess you didn't want to make friends with the neighbors.

, I would not want to live in or next to a Toontown house.

Neighbors have names for folks on the street who do unusual things with their homes.....and it isn't nice.

Save the special paint for inside.:)
