Donald Duck Observation

I'm really observant, so maybe I'm the only one that noticed this:
In parades and shows, like Cinderella's Surprise Celebration, look closely at Donald Duck. His hat is purple. It is also like this in parades and other shows. but when he comes to greet guests, the hat is blue. ANy ideas why?

I believe I heard that it's always supose to be blue, but looks purple sometimes when it's out in the sun too much, bleaching it.
