Donald Duck Breakfast at AK?

We went to it in July, and we're scheduled to do it again this fall. Does that give you any indication of our feelings about it???

:cool2:

One of the things we like about AK is the safari, and we find it's best to ride that as early as possible in the morning. The animals are more active. So on a day when there are no morning extra magic hours, we schedule an 8am ADR at Donald's Safari Breakfast, allowing us to get into the park before opening time.

We get to enjoy seeing all the characters without waiting in lines.

We enjoy decent breakfast food, with some extra special treats like wonderful bread pudding with vanilla sauce! :cloud9:

Then, when we're done, we exit just before the crowds get there from rope drop... we get to be right at the rope when it's finally time to get on line at the safari... and the safari ride is quite close to Tusker House, where Donald's Safari Breakfast is. :thumbsup2

You can read about our experience at Tusker House (and see lots of pictures) in my July Trip Report, and find details about the food in my July Dining Report... See my signature for the links. :goodvibes

OK, so Monday of our trip is Extra Magic Hours at AK. They open at 8:00 am. I thought we'd go there early and get the first safari since everyone says the animals are most active then. I booked our breakfast for 10:25. Do you think that's enough time to get from the safari to the breakfast? I figured it would be more than enough. How long does the safari ride last? Thanks! I am going to go check out your pictures now.

If you're there at 8am, you will certainly have plenty of time to do the safari ride and get to a 10:25 breakfast. You'll have extra time, if you're planning on being there in that 8-9am EMH...

I can't quite remember how long the actual ride is, but I'm guessing perhaps 20 minutes?

You're fine!

You will be fine. We went last year when they open at 9 and run to go to get fastpass and then go onthe Safari ride and then went to our 10:30 ADR and was seated w/i 3 mins. Had an enjoyable breakfast (good selection of food, great juice and coffee). Then went to go back and ride the Safari ride again and we actually saw more animals the second time. Tusker House breakfast is a must for my son we went 3x in our past trips and it will be on our December trip. Hope this helps.

We ate there last year and loved it. They have Donuts on the Breakfast Bar. We are going to eat there again in Oct. when we return for Free Dining. Enjoy

Loved Loved Loved this breakfast!! I am not usually a breakfast eater but this was yummy. There is so much to choose from and the mango juice is awesome. We are headed back this Sept and this was the first breakfast on my list of ADR's. Enjoy!!

PS and the characters are great too!:thumbsup2

TH breakfast is one of our most favorite places to eat. It's a repeater every trip for us! The food is yummy, the juice is great, and the characters look awesome in their safari gear. Sound like you have a great safari plan. Enjoy:thumbsup2

I'll be the first to admit, I'm not fond of breakfast. I'd much rather sleep in and eat a hearty lunch. Well, the Donald breakfast, is now a DON'T MISS for me. I had questioned the 8am ADR, since my friend and I were at Epcot the evening before til waaaayyyy past closing and had stayed up to download our photos onto her computer. I mean, we didn't get to bed til past midnight.
We both wanted to go to AK, do the safari, get on EE, and check out the Rapids....so off to Tusker House we went. It is SOOOOO worth it!! The food is wonderful (lots of choices!), great juice, and the character interaction is fantastic. You won't be disappointed. I enjoyed this breakfast so much more than Chef Mickey's.

Can anybody tell me the characters that appear, I am making an autograph book, thanks!:goodvibes
