Donald Breakfast--how to get there on time?

We are staying at POFQ in May as our first trip to WDW since our DS was born. Luckily, we have managed to score an 8:05 ADR for the Donald's Breakfast Safari. From everything I am seeing we need to be at AK gates by 7:45 am to make our ADR on time. Thus, I have a series of questions:

1. How early do we need to catch the bus, or should we just take a taxi?
2. Can we take a taxi if we have a 2.5 year old and will not have a car seat with us?
3. How long would a taxi take to get from POFQ to AK?

This is one of the meals that I am most excited by, but it is also proving to be one of the most stressful aspects of planning. I am so used to DLR where we can schedule a character breakfast for pre-park opening and roll out the door 10 minutes ahead of time and have time to spare. So, the idea of having to leave up to an hour early seems crazy, but necessary in order to see my son's "friends".

Our only other character breakfast is the Playhouse Disney one, but we booked a late breakfast since we are doing the F! package and are having a late lunch/early dinner. So, the Tusker House breakfast is really the only time that we are racing the clock to get someplace at the crack of dawn.

I appreciate any help and/or insight that y'all have to share!

. . . taxi is an option, but not necesary

2. Can we take a taxi if we have a 2.5 year old and will not have a car seat with us?
. . . per Florida law, you need a car seat
. . . most cabs have them - but not all
. . . if you hail a taxi, make sure you tell them about a car seat

3. How long would a taxi take to get from POFQ to AK?
. . . taxi takes about 15-minutes

I would aim to be at the POFQ bus stop at 7. Don't bother with the expense of a taxi!

I think you'll be fine taking a bus. We had an 8:15am Tusker House ADR in October, and we took a bus from Saratoga Springs at 7:30 and got there in plenty of time. We didn't experience any wait getting into the park once we arrived at Animal Kingdom, so after we got the bus it was smooth sailing from there. Have fun - it's really nice to be in the park so early! Animal Kingdom is beautiful first thing in the morning.

note about Taxis and AK................ Taxis cannot get into the parking lot to drop you off at the entrance to the park until it opens. We once waited 15 mins in the taxi waiting. Meter is running!!! This is the only place where I have encountered this.

for breakfast at the MK, you can have the taxi drop you at the Contemporary, or Princess breakfast at Norway, you can be dropped off at the Beach club and go thru the International gateway.

Another taxi driver told us that we could have been dropped at the AKL and then taken the bus from there to the AKL.

Wow, that's fantastic info!!! Not the OP, but I would never have thought of that.

OP, just wanted to chime in that I hope you have a great vacation!!! We just stayed at POFQ for the first time a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved it. Bus service was awesome and we had no problem at all getting to our early bfast (though ours was at MK). Also thought I'd let you know just FYI, we took a taxi from AKL back to POFQ after our Boma dinner, and it cost $17.10. A nice relaxing ride after our full day at AK and dinner.
