not to be really stupid here, but you folks help me a lot. just wondering. I arrive late on a saturday nite in january(730-8pm) and thought i would get counter servie/drink or maybe a snack. I am doing AK Sunday, and thought if i did donalds, the coffee aint bad at AK and have some food, enjoy the place and so on, and have a great AK day.

will I look really stupid doing the breakfast solo?? i like the characters, and want to start off the trip with a nice breakfast and a great day.I made the ressie for 930 am/.

would you do it? the other meals dont bother me, just wanted to be sure I wont be too out of place. I have a TS to use, and thougth this would be a good way to do it.

any comments welcome. :goodvibes

I solo a lot to the wolrd, just never do breakfast, always coffee until CS lunch.

Thanks again for are your help.

Personally I would do it if I wanted to. And if I wasn't "shy" about sitting alone.
No reason to feel strange. You are there to have some good food and enjoy the atmosphere.

I say go!

Best believe if there was a character breakfast open on Nov 23rd I'd be there ;) Go for it

I would do it! I went last month with my girls and next to us was a solo guest. He got as much attention as my kids got from the caracters and no one blinked an eye about him being alone. As a matter of fact, I offered to take pictures with his camera and he was delighted.

You need to do what you want to do; however, because you asked I will offer my advice which is not to do it. I think you will look stupid.

Three weeks ago we saw a solo diner at Chef Mickey's and he kind of looked stupid. It almost made me feel sad or him, almost.

Don't get me wrong, I would go to WDW by myself, I love the place, but I wouldn't do a character meal.

Cheers!

Max

I think you should do the solo Donald breakfast - I don't think I would even notice that someone was there by themselves. Go, and don't worry about what people might think!

I am a solo traveler and go to Donalds almost every trip, I always have a great time and have never felt out of place. The handlers or another guest has taken photos for me, so I say go for it.

Character meals are great for solos. Five years ago I would have thought that was a crazy statement. For many solo trips, I avoided solo character meals, thinking I'd "stick out", "look dumb", etc. Finally I gingerly tried one, because it was in the hotel I was at. Amazing! The characters are so in-tune to the level of involvement or lack of it you may want. I just sat back and watched the little kids interacting with the characters. It was so much fun and time went by so fast. Since then, I think I've gone to about 8 character meals solo, inclucing Tusker House. And one thing I learned-unless you bear a close resemblance to the characters at that meal, no one will even notice you. They're all just looking for the advertised characters. A tip I learned first-hand about getting your photo taken with your camera and the character. Just hand the camera to the character and whisper in his/her ear "I'd love to get my picture taken with you. Do you think someone would take our picture?" More than once, the character has grabbed someone from a nearby table and motioned for them to take our picture. No one dares say "No" to Mickey or his friends.

Don't listen to that other person. Do what you want. Who cares what some else thinks. I too am going in Jan and I plan to the bkft. Lifes too short to not do something fun.:thumbsup2
