Dom's Birthday Pin Meet

Well we did it! We had the waitress stick candles into an ice cream cookie and sang Happy Birtday to Dom last night. From the expression on his face you could tell how "thrilled" he was!

The meet was a lot of fun. The Connecticut Contingent (The Three Caballaros.......and Dom) were there. Joanne and Randy from Danbury came with lots of wonderful surprises from Disneyana. Old friends Carl (kirky) and Jocelyn resurfaced after a VERY busy year with pictures from their Disney Wedding at WDW last summer. My favorite was the picture of two beautiful couples dancing...Carl and Joclyn, and Mickey and Minnie. My kind of wedding! New friends from CT who we met at the Disney Store Saturday mornings, Ryan and his aunt Debbie, came. Ryan's mom, Bonnie, was there for the pin trading phase and was very happy to trade for a pin she needed, but couldn't stay for dinner...something about an anniversary meal with her husband. Since I spent my anniversary this year with Z&X Dad and EpcotKilterFan (and mom) in Orlando, I understood her feelings when she said she'd rather stay with us! Other TDS friends stopped by while we were outside to talk and trade, but couldn't stay.

We had so much fun, we can't wait to do it again. So the next RFC get together is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st. We'll probably start gathering mid afternoon, so mark your calendars and email me if you want me to include you in an early dinner reservation.

DOn't forget the tentative plans for the Sunday after Thanksgiving at DAKOTA.
An all you can eat buffet almost as good as Chef Mickey's. Well the food is better, but no Mickey. (Except for me, but I don't think that counts)
We hope to get together at 10. The last time the 3 Caballeros and Dom met at 10 they had to toss us out at 2 when they needed to clean up for the dinner crowd. We had a ball and ate way too much. But I am looking forward to another chance to sit with a cup of tea and eat those chocolate covered strawberries. Oh, and talk pins too... I will have some new stuff, including the Festival of the Masters pins...
And a public thank you to Joanne and Randy for thinking of me at the Disneyana convention. They know how much I love Small World and they brought me a lithograph from the Disney hotel that reminds me so much of the ride. I have to figure out some way to put my Small World song pins with it.
Like Cynthia said, the wedding pictures of Karl and Jocelyn brought to share were incredible. NOt only did she have Mickey and Minnie, but they had the coach with the horsemen, and private photos at the castle and on the carousel. What a memory that was. Good luck to both of you.
It was great seeing them again, and meeting some new faces. You people who don't live in Ct can't imagine what you are missing by not coming to one of our little Ct mini meets. We have such a great time. Peggie

.........thanks for rubbing it in - we froze at the football game yesterday but got to be in PA with our daughter for parent's weekend!! You know i plan to be at the one in Dec - and what is this Dakota place????????? We missed you all yesterday but we'll be back together soon enough - Peggi and i next week!! Glad to hear that so many new friends are joining our get togethers.

Caroline, Dakota's is AWESOME!!! LOTS of food! All you can eat!! And with us there Pin trading!! What else do you need!!

Had a great time Saturday! Traded with Joanne, Leslie, Cynthia, Ryan and his mom. Ate Mojo bones and met new pinpals! Can't wait for Dakotas! Especially as I should be off that weekend!

So, did Dom offer us even a small bite of that ice cream cookie samdwich...even one of the M + M's from one of the cookies???? No way....he is definitely a member of the Clean Plate Club!! Glad you enjoyed it Dom, and hope you enjoyed our singing as well!

I also had a good time with everyone on Saturday night, it's always good to get together with the Connecticut Contingent!!
