Just wondering if anybody who has stayed at the Dolphin could let me know how the transportation is. I have read about the boat ride or walk to Epcot or MGM, but I was wondering about MK, AK, and DD. We have never stayed here, but thought it sounded nice. It is going to be myself, DH, and DD11. We have stayed at the All Star, Caribbean Beach (we love this, but no availability), Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Dixie Landings. We have had a variety and thought we would again try something different.

Thanks for your help. Fairly new to this board and love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not sure who is on it more, myself or my DD11.

The Dolphin has awesome transportation. You can catch the Disney busses right outside the front entrance to the Dolphin. There is a covered area, so you do not have to be out in the sun. The same busses on the same sched. as the other Disney resorts. To the MK it is the closest bus stop to the entrance. To the AK is with all the others. You can even walk to MGM or Epcot, and get there faster, if you just missed the boat :)

Very good transporation!

Your only options for Epcot & MGM are boat or walking. No bus transport to either of those parks. Bus transport to the others on a regular basis. We received a transportation guide sheet when we checked in which was very helpful. If you don't get one, ask.

Another nice way to get to MK is to bus to WS gate in Epcot then walk to the front and take the monorail. Not really as efficient!, but still fun. Once I was at the front of Epcot. I knew I couldn't walk back to the WS gate under any circumstances - just too hot and tired. So we hopped the monorail to the TTC and jumped back on the Swan/Dolphin bus. I'm sure it took less time than it would have taken me to walk back thru WS in the shape I was in!

We were at the Dolphin Easter week and used the bus for AK early entry without a problem. However, the bus stop was mobbed on MK early entry day. We were going to have to wait another 15-20 min. for the next bus, so our DH's jogged back to the rooms and grabbed their keys and off we went in our rental cars. We probably didn't save much time (had to take the monorail from parking lot) but at least we were moving, not waiting! We never used the bus to DTD, took our rentals both times. I know other posters have had trouble finding parking at DTD, but we never have. 2disneyagain--Have a great time at the Dolphin! We loved it! :D

The Dolphin participates in Magic On Demand in the morning... buses are dispatched in 15 minute intervals. If demand warrants, additional buses are dispatched. During busy times, most morning routes will be Swan & Dolphin, with the occassional Boardwalk. Travel times are no better or worse than any other Disney resort. Being centrally located does help, though.
