I booked a standard room at a discounted rate and didn't expect any sort of upgrade (do have starwoods number attached). I tried to add "west wing" to the request list but the reservationist said that would be more money. I didn't realize one wing or another was premium. She said something about our room being preassigned near the parking area. Anyone know how these rooms are? Thanks.

I think we stayed in the west wing (our room faced the ToT), and if so it was a 'free upgrade' offer so the reservationist may be right. Sorry, but wish I could help you.

You may want to post this on the Swan/Dolphin FAQ thread...I am sure someone there knows the answer!

Good luck!

I think an outside Dolphin wing is called a RESORT view. I guess a level up from standard.

Yes, that is the category that I stayed in, so I guess that is why there are no 'standard' rooms available for that side of the hotel. However, I think the OP said they were an SPG member. You should def be entitled to a free upgrade to resort view being a member.
