Dolphin upgrade question

I was just successful on priceline for the Dolphin and can't wait! I am a SPG member (with a whopping 254 points) but upgraded to gold status with Platinum AMEX card last week. My question is, when should I request an upgrade and what might I be elligible for? We'll be able to check in early because we'll be coming off of three nights at the BWV. I read through many posts and so far ascertained upgrades for view/balcony/club level and jr. suite - just not sure any of these would be a possibility for me? We are traveling as 3 adults and on child. I bring an airmattress for the child because I refuse to pay for a rollaway. Anyone ever gottten a comp rollaway as an upgrade?

I would call or email soon as it sounds like you will be traveling to the Dolphin in the near future. Ask about a possible upgrade to CL or view. No harm in asking!

Rpsemont - out of curiosity, what rate did you get at the Dolphin? I am staying there the first week of May and am wondering if I should give Priceline a try.

A co worker of mine got the Dolphin Lagoon view or whatever the best view is for 202 a night in June. I think that is almost 50% off. Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the update DisneyFan79. $202 on Priceline seems a bit high to me - I got better with just the AAA discount. Guess I'll keep what I have.

Mike14450, My rate was $72/night. With taxes and priceline fee $245.77 for 3 nights. The thing is, if you bid on priceline, you may NOT get the dolphin. This was really lucky for me. If you're thinking about pricline I suggest you visit www.biddingfortravel.com and click on the area for winning bids in Orlando. then review the FAQ. I was perfectly willing to end up at the Hilton in DD or the Marriot Orando World Center or any of the other Resrot Level Hotels. But I am of course thrilled to be on Disney Property.
