Dolphin Swin in Playa Del Carmen - Help !

Please tell me that I'm going to be able to do this. I tried to get the Dolphin Swim in Cozumel for April 16th. Of course they are sold out, but they said I should sign up for the one at Puerto Aventura (still Dolphin Discovery instead) Of course I will have to take a ferry to Playa Del Carmen, etc. So do you think this is still okay? My DH really wants to do this. Do you think it's worth all the running around? Our time would be at 3:30?

I know I probably won't get back to the boat until 6 or 6:30 - but I understand that is movie/Mexicalifragilistic menu night, right? We have late seating.
