Just wondered when we get our dolphin swim times, I'm booked to go to DC 15th October, I'm assuming we get a time when we get there? :bounce:

Yes, you book your swim time when you check in. That is why a lot of people go when they first open. I guess the swims in the morning are more popular and go quickly. Most likely because once you do that, you can do the rest at your own pace and leave when you feel like it. If you have a 3pm swim time, you're 'stuck' there all day until you get that over with.

Cheers!

We just went to DC last Thursday (had the BEST time!). We did the Trainer for a Day program, and were told to be there no later than 8. The park opens at 9. We got there around 7:45 and there were already quite a few people checked in (that were NOT part of the TFAD). So, I'd get there as early as you can if you want an early swim time.

We went the last week in June, got there about 8:30 and were in a long, long line (but it went really quickly -- about 30 minutes to get to the front). We got an 11 a.m. swim time and it was perfect for us.

Thanks for all this info, sounds like it would be best to get there around 8.15am, was hoping to swim around 10am, so I have enough time to get to know the park....

Getting to know the park is no problem. At first it seems complicated, but you'll figure it out, plus they have a map in the park to look at. A good reason to arrive early is a line forms at the snorkle station where you get your gear. If you go early, you won't wait in any line, and you have your choice of the beach chairs and where you want to sit.
If you have kids, most go near the beach that leads to the lazy river. This beach is between the coral reef lagoon, and the lazy river entrance.
If you want quiet, you go towards the end of the park where they have the dolphin swims.

If you get an early swim time, do lunch at 11am to beat the crowd. Otherwise go to lunch at 2pm.

Sounds like good advice to me, I take it because they only allow around 1000 in on any given day, the park never seems busy?

hoping it will be like that when we are there, doing discovery cove in our second week so hoping it will be a nice relaxing day..
