Dolphin Swim in Nassau

I sent an e-mail to the place last week, but haven't heard back, so I was wondering if anyone knows the answers to the following questions. Thank you.

1) How much is it to swim with the dolphins (2 adults & our son will be 14 yo)?

2) Is the Dolphin Encounter in the same area as the swim so that G'ma can do that at the same time?

3) How do you get from the ship to the ferry that takes you to the island to do the swim?

I looked at the website today and it said that the dolphin encounter is $85 and the swim is $165.

Sorry, I don't know the answer to the other 2 questions. Thanks for posting this thread though because we're interested in doing the Dolphin encounter in August.

I booked directly through the web site. We paid in full before the first of May - at that time it was $75.00 per person. The $85.00 sounds about right at this time. It is less expensive to book direct.

It is worth the price - I considered it one of (if not THE) highlight of the trip!

To please an eight-year-old, we took a stretch, Caddy limo from the strawmarket area to the encounter ferry. I was surprised that it was only $10.00 for the two of us! Many times one can bargin for those prices.

Could not find a limo for the return trip and paid $10.00 for a delapidated Toyota mini van back to the ship.

I know nothig about the dolphin swim.

We just did the dolphin swim in May. The dolphin Swim was about $165/person and they got to spend about 45 minutes in the water with the Dolphins.

The dolphin encounter was held on the platform right next to ours. So yes, one could do the encounter and the other swim and still be in the same area. When we went, my dd and dh did the actual swim and I stayed on deck to photograph and video tape. I was able to get pictures that were just as good as the ones they try to sell you.

We also went ahead and booked the blue lagoon beach day excursion so that we would not have to worry about transportation or lunch. We also enjoyed the entertainment on the ferry boat. The band they had did an awesome job.

If you can definitely do the SWIM it was well worth the $$.
My DH said that it was one of the coolest things he has ever done.

Dear Valued Customer,
The swimming-with-the-dolphins is $165.00 per-person and the Close Encounter is $85.00 per-person.
Both programs takes place at the same facility but in different areas.
From the ship dock, you can take a taxi or a ferryboat. Taxi's are located
right outside the cruise ship and the ferryboats is a five min. walk from
the ship (behind the straw market). Inquire directions from your excursion
manager on the ship if needed. If taking the ferryboat, tell the captain
that you are going to Dolphin Encounters and once he docks at Paradise
Island, he will direct you to us.

Everyone had such wonderful remarks about the dolphin swim, that I think that we may get off the ship this time & try it!

We did the swim last year, It was the highlight of our cruise.

We took a taxi over to paradise island between the two bridges to catch the boat to blue lagoon. There is a ticket/check in window there.
On the return trip tell them you are going to the ship and they make a quick stop at paradise island to drop people off and then will take you to to the ship dock.

I was told on these boards that the ferrys sometimes take longer to get you to paradise island cause they will wait untill they have enough people before they will leave.
