Hi, Im in the process of booking my trip - aiming to go first two weeks June - what are the crowds like? However my main question is where to stay have previously stayed at CBR (thought it an overpriced Butlins) and the Poly which was quite nice. I am swinging towards the Swan and Dolphin due to their location (and price!) but also like the look of the AKL but am worried about the Transportation . Your views would be much appreciated! :confused3

Welcome to the DIS Gortatlea

have previously stayed at CBR (thought it an overpriced Butlins)

Oh my!!! We loved the CBR but each to there own. The Boardwalk resort area is wonderful for access to both the Studio's and Epcot - as you can see that area is my favourite place.

AKL looks a gorgeous resort and we have a few posters booked to stay here soon.

Hopefully somebody will be along to comment on the transport for you soon.

Hello! Welcome to the Dis.

I must qualify what I'm about to say here with the fact that I've stayed at neither resort!

First about the transportation. I had read some horror stories before I first used WDW transport but I was very pleasantlantly surprised. Our average wait time for buses was less than ten minutes. The best thing is being dropped off so close to the park - saves that whole park the car / tram thing. the worst wait we had was twenty minutes - and that was only once in two weeks. Worth it, IMO to be able to relax and let someone else do the driving!

If you think you will spend a lot of time at Epcot & MGM then I would say the location of the Swan / Dolphin can't be beat.

If the amazing themeing of AKL appeals, than go with that.

Or what about a split stay and getting the best of both worlds?

Welcome again :)

Well, am thinking of staying at Disney for 7 nights and Universal HRH for 7 nights - thought that i'd spend the whole holiday packing/unpacking if I split it further! Thanks!

HAPPY ST PADDY'S DAY FROM KILLARNEY!

Everyone I know who has been to AKL has loved it. However, I am sold on the Dolphin and would now stay there everytime.

Not only have I found it to be cheaper than most of the moderate Disney resorts but the location is fantastic. Being able to walk to Boardwalk and Epcot was wonderful and taking the boat to MGM was so convenient.

We loved the hotel!
