I'm just SO curious now. As you can tell by my title, I just can't ever decide on our hotel.

I called to book 2 balcony rooms at the Dolphin and reserv. looked around. She ended up finding a suite that she was oohing and ahing about. She said it usually goes for $880 and it was the only one left. What room is this? I requested a club suite and she was so excited about this one.

Do tell!! Did I just get lucky or is it just the junior suite?

I'm sure its the Presidential one and you can see it on the swananddolphin.com website. Its beautiful.
Connears

She gave me a big discount though. I thought the pres. suite was much more expensive than that. The rack was $880. I'm paying less than half. That's why I'm thinking it's just a junior suite on the 14th floor.

There are actually two HUGE suites at the top of the Dolphin....at the top of the 'triangle'. They usually go for about $2500 and up a night so if they are willing to give you this price....GO FOR IT! It's been about four years since I've seen them but they have 2/3 bedrooms and bathrooms each. One was done in an oriental style and the other was done in southwest style I spent the most time in the southwest one (I was part of a convention planning group). You walk into a HUGE living area with bedrooms and bathrooms to the sides. This suite had a jacuzzi the size of a small backyard pool. One of the coolest things is the balcony that faces Epcot/Boardwalk/DS. You could even see the fireworks from the MK on clear nights. Our meeting contact said that many stars and middle eastern billionaires stay in these suites as, even now, Disney hotels are pretty limited in their suite offerings.

They also have smaller one and two bedroom suites that are pretty standard so make sure they are offering these larger suites. $880 is the close to the going rate for a standard 1/2 bedroom suite in almost any major american city, so you wouldn't be getting much of a deal for this price for a normal suite.

"EXECUTIVE SUITE"...I'M ALMOST POSITIVE. THESE RENT (RACK RATE) FOR ABOUT THIS PRICE. THE PRES. SUITES AT THE DOLPHIN, ARE ACTUALLY THE "MOST EXPENSIVE" ON ALL OF DISNEY PROPERTY...MORE THAN THE GRAND FLORIDIAN. THE RACK FOR THE JUNIOR SUITE AT THE DOLPHIN IS ABOUT $600, AND THE EXEC. IS BETWEEN $850-1000 DEPENDING ON THE CONFIGURATION (AND ROOMS). NICE SUITE. ENJOY! ;)

*Note: Swan/Dolphin Suites:
Both hotels can do two bedroom suites where you have one bedroom of each on either side of a living room. Many of the bigger suites also have a sleep sofa in the parlor portion, and a pull-down MURPHY bed. All have dividing doors, except the "Junior Suite" at Swan, which is one extra large room, but no door to divide the room. The two level Presidential suite is a mere $3,600 and UP per night.

I dont' think it is an executive suite at the Dolphin as I have been told that there aren't any executive suites on the CL. I was able to get a Exec suite at Christmas for $666....so I guess your in the right range....but....I was told there weren't any suites with CL privelges...

Can anyone tell me whay the going rate for a Jr. Suite at the Swan is going for. I called to find out what the room rate would be if I went from Club level to just a standard room since I have all of these unexpected doctor bills since I have been sick that I will need to take care of. I guess she did not understand what I was saying or asking because she offered me a Jr. Suite for $273 a night. Instead of having here completely mess up my reservation I said no thanks and left it as is.

Is $273 really the going rate for a Jr. Suite at the Swan and has anyone stayed in one before.

Thanks,

The rack rate for that room during christmas is about $350 to $450....But maybe it's a AAA rate or special...

Asked specifically WHAT SUITE did I get? :D

She said it was CLUB Junior Executive Suite. She said that Francie had incorrectly said that it goes for $880-it goes for $680. So I got it for exactly half price w/govt. rate discount. She said it's 2 bathrooms, 2 minibars, 2 of everything basically.

So that means I'll be on the 12th or 14th floor? I requested Epcot view but I'm sure everybody does that! We're checking in after 4pm. Probably won't get my request.

I guess I'll call back again...I keep getting told that there aren't any Exec suites on the Club floor....

;) Let me know what happens here. I've stayed in numerous suites ON CL...and know they have ALMOST every type available. The Junior Exec suite is smaller than the Exec., yet very nice. There are CLUB EXEC. SUITES, which are more a little bit more expensive than the EXEC. SUITES. The next step up from the exec suite...is the GRAND suite. It has a larger parlor/sitting area and dining for 8. Also, very nice and comfy. Please, post your results. Thank you. ;)

GREAT suite! I completely forgot about this suite. It's a cross between the JUNIOR and the EXEC! You'll LOVE it, I'm sure. And please, do not be discouraged about late check-in and requests. You may call the eve prior to your arrival, and express your desire for this view (once again). Most all rooms are "confirmed" by reservations 24 hours prior to arrival (and can ALWAYS be CHANGED as well). Enjoy! :)

I'll go back to being happy then. :D I hope that we don't get spoiled these first two nights! We have to spend 7 nights @ Coronado Springs after we leave the dolphin.

We are not doing any parks the first two days so we should have two nice relaxing days to play in the suite before the "work" of the theme parks begins. :teeth:

dreamflight- do you know if there are pictures of this suite anywhere? The dolphin site only has a junior suite and executive suite (and the much more $$ suites).

Those pics are hard to find! Here are some I located...to help you prepare and DREAM of the Magic. After "17" (WHEW) cancellations...you deserve a wonderful journey. ;)

Take in a game of FANTASIA GOLF on one of the eves you'll be relaxing at the Dolphin:

Your suite is similar to this configuration. It's a MINI-EXEC. SUITE:

Have a MAGICAL time. ;)

OK.....Just got off the phone....

Club LEVEL
Jr Exec Suites dolphin....there are 3 each wing they have 3 beds and a smaller palor then the regular exec suites

Exec Suites Dolphin...There are 1 each wing ....so, because they no longer let people on to the CL to use the services unless they have a room there....and because there is only a total of 2 they no longer let anybody request them....

Solves my questions....It's just the luck of the draw....:(

So if noone can request these mystery suites, how do they book them? Can you get bumped up to these if you are staying/paying for jr. exec club level? That would be "Suite". LOL

And thanks for posting all of the pictures! They are wonderful.

It's finally stopped raining so I'm off to plant a buzillion flowers and daydream about my trip.

...On Each Floor of each wing! The person you spoke with has offered incorrect info. You may "indeed" request these suites, even down to the floor you wish to stay on. There's no guarantee you'll be able to obtain the exact floor, but you certainly may reserve a specific suite.

You may also use the Club Level from a different area/suite upon request. They have "always" discouraged this...but still permit it, on occasion. It's something you must take-up personally at the front desk. Also, PLAT. SPG still receives CL privs from any room/suite in the resort. ;) Thank goodness for that!

The true reason for the crack-down on the "CL" feature, is the "abuse" issue. In MOST ALL other resorts, CL floors are ONLY accessed with a special Room Key (Swiping it in the elevator). This is the case at the CR, Peabody, MGM Grand, and many other resorts we've enjoyed. Perhaps the Dolphin should use this system, thus updating the elevators for this unique secure access. If, someone else in the resort had "CL PRIVS", the front desk would be able to key the card for specific access to the CL lounge/floor.

Because anyone can/may access the 12th floor of the Dolphin, they will continue to experience abuse. Policing is done by the concierge, and they are too nice to "push" things. If "I" were at the desk...it would be a different story. Blood type, SS #, etc.! LOL. :p

If you truly want to reserve a suite, Please call the resort directly during the weekday (M-F), when the reservation associates are working. Central reservation associates are not really familiar with all the details surrounding the resort, etc. Give it another "go" on Tuesday. ;)

dreamflight99,

While the likely hood that I will beable to stay at Swan is only 50% at best. I am going to keep my reservation there and also make a new package reservation for either CBR or All-Star Sports as soon as my dr. stuff is cleared up. My Swan reservation won't need to be cancelled until Dec 20 at the latest and obviously I will know what is going on by then.

My question is with me having a club level room at the Swan, do I I use my card to get to the floor or is it the same situation as the Dolphin.

Thanks again,

Jaw...So Glad to read you are keeping the ressie (just in case), and making another as an option. Smart move, indeed. The situation with respect to CL at the Swan is the same as the Dolphin. Although, it is now my understanding the Concierge are enforcing the rules, and have become more discriminating (in a good way) with the guests. They will definitely ask to see your room key, and insure you HAVE the all-important "CL" insignia next to your name. ^_^ It truly is a wonderful experience...and I will wish and pray you are able to enjoy the Swan in Dec/Jan! Keep the faith. Sure hope you are feeling better today. ;) Get some REST, and drink plenty of fluids. TTFN...& Thanks for the HAPPY news. I'll take the odds (on the 50%), and bet you make it to the SWAN. :)

When you say call the hotel directly....where do I find the number..????all I can find on the swan/dolphin website is the 800 number...and do I ask for reservations or what....?
