I received the Dolphin on Priceline for our stay in July & was wondering if any of you have received a substandard room on either a Priceline or Hotwire ressie.......

Thanks In Advance!

I was at the Dolphin for a Hotwire stay in November. The CM at the front desk worked diligently (at least 5 minutes) to meet all my requests. I got 1 King room and 1-2 double room near each other in the renovated section with a nice view (Boardwalk/Swan).

You won't have any trouble. :)

We booked our January stay at the Dolphin thru Hotwire. When we checked in I requested a renovated room and showed my SPG Gold Card (which I know isn't supposed to do anything when booking thru a third party, but worth a shot!) Anyway, the CM was looking through her computer to see what was available. She regretfully informed us there were no more renovated rooms available (large convention), but were we comfortable with heights? As it turns out we were on the 16th floor with a GREAT view of MGM, the Boardwalk and Epcot. We were able to see the fireworks from Epcot and Fantasmic every night. What a great room! As it turns out, she moved us from a "D" room up to a "B" room. I'm not sure she was even fully aware we booked through Hotwire.

Enjoy your stay!

I checked in on a Hotwire room last weekend.

Made no requests, did not bother with my SPG card. I got a renovated room on the second floor with a balcony. Very nice room.

I am in a Hotwire room right now - renovated room - not a great view but the only request I made was a non-smoking. Didn't bother with my Starwood card. Check-in guy was very pleasant.

How did you know you booked the Dolphin before you purchased?
Priceline and Hotwire don't let you know the hotel until after it is booked? What it just luck?

Hotwire gives you the amenities before you buy the hotel. In some cases you have A VERY HIGH PROBABILITY of getting a specific hotel. Check betterbidding.com. Keep in mind the Hotwire rate for S/D isn't dirt cheap but it is better than other discounted rates (AP, occupational rates, Entertainment).

You generally pay more with Hotwire than PL but you get a much better idea as to what hotel you're getting.

I'm trying for the Dolphin/Swan on Hotwire for a night in early December. It doesn't seem to be coming up though. Also, when I called they had no disounts available.

Is this a resort that traditionally only releases rooms and discounts 5 to 6 months in advance?

Can you tell me the approximate price shown and the ammenities that were listed. I'd love to be able to figure out which hotel is actually on Disney Property? Thanks!!

We were lucky enough to get the Swan last summer on Priceline. The room was great. King bed with a Sleeper which was great since it was DH, DD and myself. We had a view of EPCOT.

Cindy - I'd really love to try this myself but nervous as terms and conditions say that Priceline only guarantee a double occupancy room. There are the three of us as well - I'd be worried that my 10yo DD didn't get a bed. Do I need to worry about this and did you do anything to ensure that this didn't happen to you.
